I was in the same boat years ago when I was returning to the fold... Pretty sure I wanted a Guzzi but had the money to go with whatever I wanted (within reason), so in the end a couple of things influenced my decision. My wife decided she didn't want to ride pillion so that meant I can go with whatever...and I had every intention of test riding bikes that intrigued me. Ducati Monster Triumph Speed Triple etc. BUT before I could do so a certain Green V11 Sport popped up. Ha ha, a few mates had also told me to go with the heart when making the decision too. Well originally the colour of the V11 put me off (it wasn't mentioned in the ad and I can actually remember asking the shop on the phone about it...It's not that lurid Green one is it...) but as soon as I fired her up the heart was a goner and yep the salesman was right in that the colour grows on you! I love it and don't regret it for a second. Guzzi's are a long term commitment that get better and better the longer you own one.. So my advice is to... GO WITH YOUR HEART. Cheers

It is a nice looking home! No way in hell would I be venturing out on a bike in weather like that either! Jeez, what a difference in our weather I had my first dip in the pool for the year yesterday and a vino on the balcony... I'm hoping my first ride of the year will be Friday before heading back to work on Monday! Cheers Ps Interesting about the doors, never took any notice before but ours here in Oz also open inwards.

Aha 5mm difference! Ha ha whichever way you go you'll end up with a better unit than the stock unit! I was going to go Wilbers back when I changed mine out but the supplier lost the ability to supply them at the last minute. So, we went with the Hyperpro which he could and as mentioned I'm happy with it. Cheers Ps I did hum and hah about whether to go Emulsion ( basic ) or the all singing all dancing version at the time but have no regrets.. The Emulsion 460 does the job well for me.

G'day mate I have the Hyperpro 460 Emulsion shock on my 01 Sport and think it's same size as standard. I sometimes wish that I'd ordered it with the optional length adjustment ability to enable the rear to be raised by the 8mm of the Ohlins, but I'm pretty happy with how she handles as is with forks raised in triples by 8mm. .It's been a while since I did this so will leave it to wiser heads to prevail on that and fitment to your LeMans. Whichever way you go I'm pretty sure you'll be happy with the Hyperpro units... I know I am! Cheers

My Dad's mate Lance used to have a big Chev Impala back when we were kids... This was quite something in 70's NZ I can tell you. Yeah, the boot (trunk to you guy's) was bloody huge! I remember throwing the racing go kart and everything needed to race all day in it and still there was heaps of room ! That and even just cruising around it'd chirp the tyres when the 3 speed auto changed gears.... Bloody impressive especially when you're more used to 52 Morrie Oxfords and 57 100E Prefects..... Ha ha the memories! I'm just about to call me ole mate in Perth for Xmas and as lifelong mates and gearheads will remind him of the ole days and Lance's Impala! His 57 100E is long gone and now has an XK8 Jag in the garage! Anyways folk's I'm gonna pour myself a glass o vino and have a laugh with me ole mate so to all of you in our wee V11 world...Merry Christmas and hope you all have a great festive season! Cheers Guzzler Ps I kinda think many of us here would be pretty good mates if we weren't spread round the globe eh. Still bloody good to know ya all in cyberland all the same!

Had it for many many years but now the Telco tells me I've got till September next year to become part of the modern world as they're closing the 3G network down!....Bugger. I get a laugh out of the sniggers when I whip it out to call or text home..... Cheers -

"It's a computer that happens to operate a car....." Yep, and one with potentially deadly consequences WHEN it has a hissy fit... Think I'd rather be master of my own destiny. Cheers HAL ...ha ha -

Autopilot.... That phrase about giving fools enough rope and they'll hang themselves springs to mind. -
G'day I ran Pilot Roads 2,3 and 4 and then changed to Pirelli Angels. My thoughts were that they suited the V11 a lot better than the Michelins but in fairness this was before I had my suspension sorted! I remember being very impressed with Angel GT after the Michi's even before the susp upgrade though! Angel GT2 currently on it and these are bloody great wet or dry! I'll run these again when done but reckon must be about due for a GT3 so hoping these might be available beforehand...? Cheers

Yep, worth every cent too! I've had mine for about 13-14 years. Very good gear and so far it's accommodating my ever- expanding waistline. Cheers -

Unreal.... Back when I first got to Melbourne, someone in the group of family and friends knew someone who was in the Musicians Club in Windsor. So I tagged along a few times and it became a bit of a local. Then someone decided to start a Darts team! We played in a league that covered pubs in the area and I remember playing in the Tankerville Arms a few times on a Thursday night,It was strictly a social/fun thing nothing serious but had a good time was had all the same! What a laugh... -

Ha ha I worked in Abbotsford in the mid to late 80's, so know this area! Didn't frequent either pub but did drop into one on Hoddle street on a Friday after work for a Pot of Carlton draught. Cheers Ps more I think about it the more I reckon I have been in the Tankerville Arms... What a bloody small world eh
