  1. Ha ha The pair of us like the classic Angus on the odd occasion we have takeaway but thought we'd give the cheesy version a go....Yuck!
  2. Ha ha She fancied Maccas (McDonalds) so off to see the clown I went... Bloody hell now I'm not so sure which relay actually came outa # 1 ! I thought I had all GEI's but think I pulled a Pro Quip PM 2512X ( 12 VDC 20/15 a 5 x pin ) outa there...? I was at work and interrupted a few times during it all so can't be sure! She has GEI relays in all spots for sure now though. Anyways I'll keep an eye on this... Cheers Ps just went out and tried the bike. She fired up better than has done of late so fingers crossed. Pps won't EVER have another Cheesy Angus burger again!
  3. Not sure mate. I've still got the old one and will have a look and report back. The missus is looking for lunch so off we go.... Cheers
  4. Actually Doc, I've had GEI's in there for ages and no issues,,, The start relay #1 wasn't a GEI but it is now. Fingers crossed as I don't need any lectrickery shenanigans just now! Gotta try making a Voodoo doll* of the public prosecutor ..just in case he/she decides to send me a polaroid shortly! *Ps just kidding by the way!
  5. Thanks mate. I'm usually pretty good at spotting them but when you're knackered after a hard week and probably more pre-occupied with how the bikes running and handling, I didn't see this one till last minute....
  6. Took the bike into the office again yesterday... Hard to start and had to toggle the kill switch to get her to do so! Got to servo and same shit as the other month, wouldn't take any throttle when trying to accelerate onto the highway! Bugger not this again.. Definitely not battery this time as has been ridden at least once a week for some time now. Once again she came good after a few kays! So,when quiet at work I pulled the seat and removed relays to check... pretty dusty /dirty in there so cleaned the base and actually replaced # 1 as although it was a 5 pin it wasn't a GEI like the others...odd.Started ok. After work at 2.30pm she fired right up and ran like a champ through the heavy traffic for 10-15 kays till clear of Cranbourne and open road and still no issues! When I got to the fun bits she was still running brilliantly and had a ripper of a ride home! The new settings up front (yep still experimenting with forks) meant it was probably the hardest I've ever ridden this stretch... so I reckon I'm very very close! Still glowing this morning! Cheers Ps For every up there's a downer... Think I may have a wee (hopefully a wee one) surprise in the mail in next few weeks... Safety cameras ... Bollocks it's bloody revenue raising nothing more!!
  7. Interesting! Thanks for that mate. I've always avoided them and will continue to do so.... Cheers
  8. Thanks mate Think I'll keep using 95 here even though it's $2.05 a litre...ouch.
  9. No worries. I can see the range on the Held Australia site and bought mine at Andy Strapz here in Melbourne. Cheers
  10. The page wouldn't open but I did see Held.de. They are a German company so assume that it's the page mate! Yeah I've also heard good things about their gear. Cheers ps would never have known about the hero bit but being inner gloves at least no one sees them!
  11. Ps meant to say I'll report on the breathability in the warmer weather....IF we ever see any of it! Cheers
  12. G'day folk's. Thought I'd share my enthusiasm for these inner gloves. About seven years ago I bought a pair of Rukka Apollo gloves which in the early days were waterproof and comfortable. Then after about two years the bloody Gore-Tex liners would come out when you took them off in warm/hot weather and it was a nightmare trying to get them back in and wear the gloves! So rather than waste $300 or so bucks we pulled the liners out and my wife carefully cut and removed them from the main gloves meaning that they were essentially a separate pair of inner gloves. This worked well till recently when this flimsy pair started falling apart. The last straw was a VERY WET ride home with wet and COLD hands as by now the gloves are nowhere near waterproof anymore unless I use Dubbin on them regularly and at this stage I hadn't done so for a bit! After reading a review of the Infiniums I bought a pair for $55 and tried them! Very bloody impressed! They're like thermal undies for your hands being a tight /close fit. They're also windproof and very comfortable. I have managed to try them in the wet and hands remained warm and dry.The old set-up was ok down to 5 deg's and painful below that, but recently I've been caught out twice in the cold. The first time was 3 deg's leaving home and minus 1 on the flats! Yep it was brutal but not nearly as bad as the old set up which had me screaming in the helmet to try and take my mind off the pain in similar weather.Another time it was 4 on leaving home and 1-2 degrees for about 20 k's and although it was uncomfortable it was still much better than the old set-up as well. I usually avoid riding in temps under 5 but these jiggers make it possible providing it doesn't go too far below it or for prolonged times! (also helps if you go easy on the throttle too, as wind chill is wicked at speed) Money really well spent as it means I'll also get a few more years outa the Rukka main gloves! Cheers Guzzler
  13. Yay The art of the Vintner.... Now is it art if you spit or swallow...? Cheers
  14. Good onya Doc I was looking thru my old receipts / paperwork etc and could only find the driveshaft # 01358730 if anyone needs that. Cheers
  15. I was given a bottle of Chianti a month or so and not tried it as yet.. Might have to try it tomorrow afternoon after my wee jaunt on the Italian mistress. Cheers
  16. I might have to have an extra glass of shiraz later on too....
  17. A fine bit of abstact expressionism there mate....!
  18. Good luck Doc... I've also got a RARE free weekend coming up....(ssshhh fingers crossed)! The weather looks to be coming to the party too but don't want to bugger it by assuming the Met bureau has it right this time! May have to appease ole Bacchus and sacrifice some brain cells later on... just so he can put in a good word to Jupiter for us!!
  19. Took it into the office... Bit fresh on the way in and windy on the trip home but rode the tripe out of her in the fun 40 kays! I think she enjoyed the dance as much as I did. Cheers
  20. Exactly.... Whether or not something is ART or NOT is in the eye of the beholder! Mechanics/engineers will appreciate that side of it whilst others will appreciate it's aesthetic side. Some will appreciate BOTH. Cheers
  21. I'm beginning to think I've been wasting my time (and money) running 95 all these years.... Probably could've used standard old 91! Bugger
  22. Just needs some leather tassels hanging off the bars to finish it off...... I agree, some customs are good and some like matey's efforts above not so much! Ha ha, many mainstream riders look at us Guzzi nuts as a little er different too by the way.... Cheers
  23. Ha ha I remember this craze... There were quite a few OUT THERE versions in sixties early seventies ChCh NZ! Bloody hell, I can still see my mate pedaling like mad up our steet back in '73! This belongs in a Nostalgia thread ha ha Cheers
  24. I keep hearing rumours of 95 being phased out here too... So may have go to 91 at some stage. Cheers Ps Brad Black warned me about using 98 here as per LP's post.
  25. In true Guzzi thriftiness and suspender snapping.... I'm thinking of running 91 octane instead of 95 after it cost me $28.00 for 14 litres on Thursday morning. Never really worried about it before but that's beginning to be on the nose! Cheers
