    Tank Bag?

G'day I have an Oxford 30 litre strap on tank bag that I bought a year or so ago now. I too would have liked the Guzzi one but rare as Rocking horse droppings here in Oz so took a punt on the Oxford jobby. Pretty happy with it I must say although have only used it twice but one was a 1500 km 3 x day weekend away and it was great.Carrys enough gear for these sorts of jaunts and it kept my gear dry during some wild weather in the high country! I would put any gear you plan to carry in the side and front pockets in a plastic bag though which is no hassle. Also I put a thin rubbery sheet under the bag to protect my paintwork. It was stable and not much of a drama at gassing up time which was a concern prior to purchase. All in all I'm pretty chuffed with it and can't wait to get out for another long week-end and put it to more use... Cheers Guzzler
  2. Ha ha I'm currently in NEGOTIATIONS with the minister of finance on this same topic..... Cheers Guzzler
  3. Thanks LP, great insights of the racing world...! Great reading. Cheers Guzzler
  4. Hmmm a modern greenie.... Just needs a wee Stucchi nose screen to finish it off! I kinda like it eh Cheers Guzzler
  5. What a ripper....! Love it. Cheers Guzzler
  6. I love how she GLOWS in certain light eh! Really is a special colour scheme.... Cheers Guzzler
  7. Ha ha I wondered what was going on there.... Cheers Guzzler
  8. G'day Yep, before I bought my greenie the shop I bought it from added the wee Stucchi fairing (could only get an unpainted one ) and had it painted locally as well as touching up the paint a bit here and there so I was told. I was even given a wee can of the paint he used to touch up any chips or to use as a reference or whatever in the future but never used it. They did tell me it wasn't an easy thing to get right but this bloke did a bloody great job so if you get a good paint guy it well and truly can be done! Cheers Guzzler
  9. I reckon you're right mate. This is what we found here in Oz, well Victoria anyway. We were hit pretty hard with lockdowns and restrictions etc so when they lifted..... EXODUS to the regions especially as we still couldn't travel interstate, so EVERYWHERE was booked out. I'm going to try and getaway near the end of summer when it'll have settled down! Cheers Guzzler
  10. G'day Yeah, we have an older black 1100 sport in the club here in Victoria and it really suits it...! Cheers Guzzler
  11. I've been running 35/36 psi ( cold ) in the front and 37/38 rear in these for a while now and they've been pretty good. I like it and them...GT11 normal This morning I must've been half asleep and put 38 ish ( cold ) in the front... Hmm maybe this works on other bikes but I sure as hell didn't like it on the way home and it was 30+ degrees out and WINDY. When I got home I let out a fair bit of air out of the front then curiosity got the better of me and checked it ...34 psi!! Bloody hell I must've had well over 40 psi in there on the way home! I know this road isn't the greatest and it was very windy but the ole tart with aforementioned 35/36 cold handles it very very well. Seemed like I lost a fair bit of confidence in the front as it slipped off ( ?) the odd irregularity and bounced off bigger bumps and just didn't feel planted... Glad it wasn't wet ha ha. Anyways I'll be a bit more vigilant next time, maybe a bit more coffee first ? Cheers Guzzler Ps Bloody annoying when something you do stuffs up what would normally be a FUN ride especially when you haven't been able to get out on it much of late...bugger
  12. Great music.... Cheers Guzzler
  13. Ha ha Mine was a 1952 Morris Oxford. Side valve motor, no synchromesh to first gear so if you ran out of steam on a steep hill you had to stop the car and select first gear from a stand still! And although Christchurch NZ is flat as a tack mostly, the Port hills and the Alps meant you got pretty good at hill starts... Bloody hell, I can almost smell the old leather interior! Built like a tank too. Cheers Guzzler
  14. Very well put Doc.. These bikes are SO MUCH MORE than just Motorcycles!! Cheers Guzzler
  15. G'day folk's Really hope to be able to get out and about soon to take a few photo's to share! It's a funny ole time here in Oz what with Melbourne being the world's most locked down city and only gaining freedom not long ago, and now the exodus is on in earnest to make up for lost time + CRAZY and WILD weather usually at the bloody weekends too, has made it hard to get out and about. Now that we seem to be able to have a normal Christmas with family and friends a lot of time will be spent catching up! I was planning to get away for a weekend in December before the holidays started but didn't eventuate due to Family /Work /House chores and WEATHER so reckon it'll be Feb before I can get out on the bike again as EVERYWHERE is booked out and packed due to said exodus to our regional areas as people reluctant to travel interstate for fear of border closures etc... I do get a reprieve in that I'm taking the bike into work at our Dandenong branch tomorrow morning and my Niece's for Xmas day so this could be the extent of it for a wee bit... Hope some of our other Southern Brethren may be able to chime in in the meantime...? Cheers Guzzler
  16. Yep Many an enquiring mind would like to know this.... Cheers Guzzler
  17. Pressie for me and the bike that is... Ha ha
  18. G'day Sadly all I can do is look at her at the moment.. Between work/home chores and being crook there for a few days I haven't gotten out for a ride in 6 bloody weeks! Might just take the ole tart for a run to my niece's place on Christmas day, ha ha be a present for us both. Cheers Guzzler
  19. Bloody hell , I've got the stutters now... Please disregard the double up, I must be hovering round the 3 -4 k wobbly zone myself! Cheers Guzzler
  20. Cheers mate. I might just give that a whirl next start up! Hopefully that'll be sometime soon, been 5 weeks so she'll be well and truly cold....
