  1. Also, to toss in a few facts from nearby, but certainly not in the thickof the mess. News reports and the Gov't officials in La and NO on Monday and early Tuesday were expressing their relief that it wasn't too bad. They had dodged a bullet. Untill the levee breech. I'll be at the Convention Center in Houston tomorrow. Assisting in any way possible. 15,000 at the Dome, 8,000 more at Reliant Arena. 10,00-15,00 more at George R. Brown Convention Center. Add in dozens of outlying churches/community centers with 300-500 per site. 15,000-25,00 more each, headed to both San Antonio, and Dallas. Estimates project as many as 100,00 displaced persons in Houston. For the next 6-12 months. Most are staying with friends/family. Those in shelters are only a portion of the big picture. My donations, and available goods/supplies (I had a supply at home), have gone here: http://wildguzzi.com/discussion/viewtopic.php?t=4558 The impact in Houston has been stunning. But in comparison, only a drop in the bucket. Bush's fault, Clinton's fault. Who cares. We don't need this shit. People are dying, will continue to die, and untold numbers of lives are destroyed. Glad to see you can get a chuckle out of it. Uncle Sam gets it up the wazoo. Banner F'ing Day. I'll remember....
  2. Rick, recall applied to 2000 and 01 bikes only. No 2002 or later models were subject to the recall. Recall applied thru Vin ZGUKRAKR11M114435 10th digit of your Vin should be 2 for 2002 model, 3 for 2003. Cross this one off your list of things to worry about.
  3. NO. Also replace the viton o-rings 6 per side, 12 per motor
  4. Reflector, lens, and chrome surround are all identical to the BMW application listed. Centauro and Calif EV 98-01 use a smaller headlight. Same as BMW R65. Available as parts as well. In US, they are much more expensive for the small light, however But still much cheaper than a complete unit from Guzzi
  5. I wonder how many Audis they bent in half for that movie? That one's hilarious. Good thing Ford doesn't sell the Ka in the U.S.; the animal rights people would have screwed themselves right into the ceiling after watching it. Staedtler: I don't know where it might be posted, but it was a TV ad for the Ford Sport Ka. The spot opens to a pigeon on a branch, with the car across the street. The pigeon flies off the branch and swoops down toward the car, right over the hood (bonnet). Just before the bird unloads on the car, WHAACK!!, the hood snaps up and punts it into the street, where it lands in a heap. At the end it shows a website: www.the-eviltwin.co.uk. Either it's gone or not working because I get a message saying the connection was refused. 57686[/snapback] There is another ad for the Ka, showing a cat jumping on the hood of the car. Cat walks up windshield, sticks it's head in the open sunroof, and the roof slides shut. Limp, headless cat rolls off car, onto street. Now, That's Entertainment! Google search for "Ka evil twin" yields: http://www.dumpalink.com/media/1120731804 Note-- not suggested for sensitive cat lovers.
  6. Sorry to lump you in with the Brits, Dave. No offense intended. Apologies also to any Japanese forum members who may be viewing.... Any others?
  7. Txrider, contact these guys: http://www.xpel.com/ Good stuff, protects well against anything .22 caliber or smaller. Well worth it. Buy a big sheet, you'll find other uses for the stuff. We use it on hand-held scanners, etc. to protect the view windows. We have been pleased with the optical clarity over a several year test. Follow the instructions, clean thoroughly , and use alcohol as needed On the lens I mean.
  8. Andy, contact your Local BMW m-c dealer. Tell him you need a headlight lens for a 1977 R100/7. Same headlamp. Different beam pattern for UK vs rest of world The BMW parts fiche shows a UK version of the lens. In the US it comes with the gasket. About $30USD last I bought. Best of luck. Contact me if you have no luck, I can provide BMW number for the UK lens.
  9. If the Monte Carlo SS tickles your fancy, there are probably good deals to be had on a "Smokey and the Bandit" Trans Am.
  10. Seems I heard something about a bicycle race across the pond the last week or two. How'd that turn out? Last I heard, a Texan with one giblet was about to beat the best Europe had to offer. In a European sport. For the 7th year in a row.
  11. MSRP at a Guzzi dealer in the US should be $9.82 p/n 02753700. (and in stock) For god's sake, don't call a Guzzi dealer, whatever you do! Lord knows, they're shockingly rich already
  12. But, are those American liters or European liters?
  13. Contact Todd Eagan at www.guzzitech.com He has researched this more than anyone on the planet. He will know what works, and what doesn't.
  14. Tx, Your co-worker doesn't look Hispanic. What gives?
  15. Yeah, but Dallas is a "dry heat". Houston is just brutal, but I have never shoveled humidity. http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findwe...ast?query=77084 105F heat index-- It's good for the pores. Cooling down with frosty adult beverage, under the ceiling fan, after doing the yardwork. Maybe next week, I'll get up and get an early start. Houston-- it may be a hellhole, but it's MY hellhole, dammit.
  16. Richard, attached are pics of rear drive and rear wheel for 99-01 v11 and also the corresponding pictures for 01-02 leman and Sport.. I am unable to post the part number table. Contact me direct if you have questions, I will do what I can to help. 99-01: 01-02: If this is too big a space-hog, someone please let me know and I will pull down the pics.
  17. Big pivots. Just sold my last set of grey ones. Gold is available-- extra bling points
  18. Not sure of the Brit-designed part, but the rest sounds like MuZ. (or MZ as they now call it) Do I get half a quiz-point?
  19. Fax # Al? Feel free to post it.
  20. Joe, Have you contacted the dealer who performed the recall? What is their response. I may be a simple matter of bulb for neutral light(doubtful) or more likely, a crapped out neutral switch(I keep a handful in stock) Not their fault. Perhaps they will replace it if you buy the part? (The sort of thing we'd do in the situation described)-- Or send you a switch on a SWAG? With the option to return the switch if it doesn't fix the prob. It's not a big job, and the travel time is considerable. Hi-Beam bulb-- I would suspect totally unrelated. They weren't even close to the area. My big wonder is how an 8.8 hr warranty job could take 6 months. That concerns me more than the neutral light.
  21. I concur with bshpilot: SpamDisclaimer: We sell Autocom. Expensive.. yes. Guessing $500- $1000 USD for the set-up he describes. Depending on add-ons. Complaints-- none. Several sold to Chatterbox owners who say they were not satisfied. YMMV Bshpilot-- look forward to meeting you next week, or whenever you are in town.
  22. No problem, Did the same on the Blarney Stone, and the sink in the Dublin airport. (you guys have some problem getting indoor plumbing to work? Or is it that anyone who knew how to work in your country high-tailed it out of there circa 1850). That crystal you're so proud of doesn't stand up to a good yellow shower either. Just thought you might like to know. Your beer is much better than ours. The people are all kinds of friendly, however, including your sister. I'll remember her for some time. Still carrying the change I got back after a night of romping. Best 5 bucks I ever spent. Yer pal in Texas, Todd
  23. Now, That's some Stupid Sh!t. Some people deserve everything they get.
  24. Glad to see it's only the Americans who keep making this political. You know you are jumping up and down on a raw nerve here. Sorry to get all uppitty with that Lend-Lease, 50 free destroyers, untold thousands of American lives, billions of dollars the Marshall Plan, etc. Repayment at say.. 10% interest per annum would be a nice start. You'd been doing such a fine job of running things pre-WWII. Had a FINE handle on things. We really had no place stepping in. Just a lowly colony, which you were better off without. Please excuse. Not to say we haven't f'd other things up royally since, but I haven't seen German(or Russian) troops march through Paris, or threaten the English coastline, in the last 60 years. How long has it been since you could say that? You're Welcome. Your obnoxious Amercian friend- Todd in Texas, U.S.A.
  25. You're gonna love OK if that's your idea of good fun-- Word to the wise-- Valentine. Don't fly without it. Mean traffic speed between San Antonio and Houston on a Sunday afternoon-- 85-95 mph, if you value your life.
