Hey, Jeff, Don't forget your coupon, or you won't get this "special" pricing. "Hello, I'd like the sucker special, please." Here's my coupon. I've got no problem with people making a profit. I'm willing to give it a try myself, but Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! $2800 to tune a tueboy? Yowzza!

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...=books&n=507846 Perhaps a little Libertarian, gun-culture "wacko" for some of our European brethren, but this guy nails what I feel is wrong with this country(I know, it's a long list ). I have purchased 3 copies of this book, and received a 4th as a gift. I am very good about ID'ing the people who will relate to it. About 95% so far. 3 of 4 copies are currently loaned out--Takers? What I want most from my government is to be left alone.

And that was all just before breakfast. TR is the sort of guy I'd want on my side if the chips were down. Some here seem overly sensitive. If your world is that fragile, I feel for you. You must go through life perturbed by a variety of minor slights, both real and imagined. Worry about what matters, if someone strikes you as moron, bigot or idiot, letting them upset you is your problem, not theirs. I look forward to Texas Rednecks' posts, musings, and insights. We like when he stops by the shop, too. Never been a visit that he didn't raise the mood of everyone in the shop. In my experience, the ones I need to worry about are the politcally correct blowholes who stand for nothing. I prefer a brash, in-your-face person any day. (Tex is all that and a few bags of chips). Everyone knows where they stand. I can deal with that. Can you?

Jaap, We put a TLM stand on a 00 V11 sport, difficult, but doable. Ordered another for 02 LeMans, when they were first released, assured it would work. After several hours of trying, and some heated phone calls, we were told they had never actually installed it on a LeMans, but that "it should fit". It didn't. I understand that TLM now has a version for the "wide wheel" bikes.

So help a stupid American out here,Paul. I know English, Redneck, and some Latin from 20 years ago. What's it say? Grazie

Carl, You'll love Oklahoma. Fewer cliffs == more idiots Some of those local boys can drive, tough. Had some hard on my butt going through Arkansas. In old clapped-out pickup trucks. Not much question why shine-runners became Nascar drivers.

My condolences, Steve, looks like Tex won the gift tally competition. What a truly fourtunate guy. He is special, in more ways than one.

Or, perhaps the message to be drawn is that, when all dealers are on a level playing field. as I believe is the case here, the final number from one dealer is not far from what another can offer. There is 1 uncrated Rosso Corsa available from MGNA in the US right now. There is no "network" between dealers. The only dealer we have talked with on a regular basis is no longer a dealer. We are friendly/congenial with a number of dealers around the country. Before I got "chummy" with a few certain dealers, I'd slap 'em hard for telling people said dealer cannot handle an engine case replacement for bubbling paint, and suggesting a dealer over a 1500 miles away. Thanks, pal. If you can't build a motor, hang it up. Glad you decided to go local. Enjoy the new bike-- I predict your "Legendary motorcycle of Germany" will soon be collecting dust at a phenomenonal rate.

Very well stated, Bill It's been said by others also: "Price is what you pay. Value is what you get." Author: Warren Buffett Best of luck with the new bike.

Correct, the 2001 RM, all 2002 models, and most early 03 Califonia models have the "fuzzy", peeling paint. Not sure on the 03 v11 naked non-crossover bikes. We have done, to date, 6 crankcase replacements. A few more in the pipe. 1800 to 8000 miles. Seems to be heat/mileage related, but that is just a hunch. We tried to "strip" the black off one. The undercoat is some tougth stuff. All strippers/acetone.MEK,blowtorch, all leave just a further bubbled black mess.

Never wrote in Sam Houston. His sister Whitney sure can sing, though. Always someone on the ballot. Sometimes major party, sometimes not. The more tax checks that are written ,the more Libertarian I become. What I want most from my govt. is to be left the hell alone.

Thanks for the referral,Al. I normally keep between 4 & 8 in stock. They seem to fly off the shelves with each of these threads. I defer to TR's infinite wisdom, but under $20 sounds familiar(I'm at home) Careful, though, a Texas petcock may make your bike lean to the right Not trying to go political here--- I've voted in every Pres election since 1984(when I was 18). Never voted for a winner. A fact of which I am proud. My string will continue at least another 4 years

The Titanum pipe kit for 00-02 models is still available in the U.S. Be advised, however, that UK version is probably different. (ECU differences on catalyzed bikes vs. non-catalyzed U.S. models). U.S. part number is 97326090009.

The clutch bleeder is m10. Just checked the 02 Lemans getting engine case replaced. Easy to get to with the engine and trans on bench.

"First off, my apologies to Mike Haven at MPH. My discription of the process as a pain in the butt to do was coming from a person with little mechanical inclination. The kit comes with clear instructions. I'll post pictures some time this weekend unless someone at MPH prefers that I do not." No apology is wanted or called for. Josh at MG Classics is just a big mutton-fisted lummox. (Wow, that should get somebody else riled up).. Take all the pictures you like and post them, please. If the pics come out well, we'd like to use them on our website, with your permission. The CAD drawings and blueprints stay locked in the safe, though. Come near the safe, we'll release the watchdog. Smile everybody, motorcycles are supposed to be fun, remember?

http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...86&hl=bar+riser These risers have been discussed before, and again, the response was very positive. Al, I took a little umbrage myself at your response to what seemed a glowing endorsement to start the thread. If it was a joke, I toook it the wrong way, too. I don't think any personal insult was intended in Mike's reply. BTW, his computer is down, he was using mine temporarily and I'm auto-logged on. Sorry for any confusion. Not planning a retirement villa in the south of France based on bar riser sales, either. I've only known Mike for 35+ years now, for anyone who's never met him, here's a news flash-- He can be a real a**hole at times. I've learned not to let it bother me. As a result of his "gruff" nature, he probably won't die Bill Gates-rich. I think he's pretty comfortable with that. We fix stuff and solve problems. Feelings and emotions are not our forte.

the only even slightly difficult part of installing my risers set is the replacement of the clutch hose. Its an awkward job, same as with the stock hose. Its due to the location of the slave cylinder Once past that its cake. And ANY riser/bar system that does not require longer hoses simply AINT RISING anything, just moving it around. So we include a hydraulic line set. I can install it in less than 2 hours . So can you. Instructions a re included. As is a money back offer. No one has taken me up on it yet. Mike Haven

Hey Al buy a set and take all the damn pictures you want! Then post them everywhere so any clown can rip you off. maybe include a CAD program and blueprints? MIKE HAVEN

In the middle of our first recall trans today. Parts in the kit do not appear noticably different, the recall seems to be a matter of metallurgy more than re-design of the sleeves, etc. 1 sleeve is noticably darker in color, another has a notch or groove machined in it, but this does not appear to have any mechanical purpose/role. In short, if you have shift quality issues, do not expect the recall to address that. Make sure your dealer knows about any other complaints/concerns before the job is begun. As for timing/parts availability, I understand 20 parts kits were brought into the US in the initial supply from Italy. 20 dealers submited claims(1 or more,I sent in 6 the first day) in the first wave of claims, so MGNA sent 1 kit to each of those first 20 dealers. A "large supply" of parts kits are en route from Italy, supposed to hit in a few weeks. Then we can start earning the BIG Money!

Guest-- a much more common leak is the sidecover on the left side of the trans. Often not visible, just smell the oil burning on the crossover. Glued on cover--the tomato sauce used in the Guzzi factory doesn't seem to hold up. We use a German Loctite 574 product used for years on Porsche transmission cases for a similar application. Pricy from Porsche, don't remember how much exactly,as a little goes a very long way. Maybe someone can source it elsewhere. Porsche number 000 043 010 00. Good Luck

Z is for Italy GU is for Guzzi KRAKR designates 1100 spine frame 2000-2002(sport and Lemans) 9th digit is undefined 10th digit is model year(nor production) W-98, X=99,Y=2000,1=2001,2=2002 11-16th digits are identifying serial number for your specific bike. The above is form memeory- Sure-fire proof that I have filed more than my share of warranty claims.

Carl, We replaced a gearbox housing for the identical leak on a bike which had been down hard. Didn't see it at first, only after cust. had picked up bike and ridden it awhile. Fortunately, it was an insurance job, and since a new housing was about $350.00 and availabe, we went that route. IIRC, it looked weldable, but the memory is not what it used to be.

MGNA pays shop labor rate. This is adjustable on a yearly basis with proper paperwork backing it up.(i.e., if shop rises their labor rate) The shop receives a credit to the parts account, but it really all comes out in the wash. Just moving numbers from one column to another, if the dealer is buying any amount of accessories at all from MGNA.
