Pete, Have you ever endured that Oriental gentleman by the name of Sam Ting? No matter you do for him, at whatever price, he will be back in a few days. "Machine does Sam Ting"

Very well stated, Solo. Much more tactful than I. All customers are equal. Some are more equal than others.
  6. The account I got from TxR, over a few of each of the above, except the coasters, was a truckload of Moosehead, which somehow came up a few cases short at his destination. The cigarettes were all in the cab, and he was trying out his fancy new cupholder, testing it for the Moosehead. Minnesota to Texas. Norwegian submarine defense microfilm was hidden in a swallowed prophylactic.
  7. Few of you Europeans realize TxR is actually working deep undercover for the Norwegian gov't. In conjunction with Halliburton. The name of the new bike from Guzzi is really no coincidence.
  8. What would your wife do with a big-breasted, bikini clad maid?? SAY NO MORE p.s.-- take pics,
  9. So, I wonder if Jaap is having computer problems, or if he is on vacation.
  10. Quite true. Heroes on horseback don't get very far, however. Ask the Polish cavalry. Arsenal of Democracy, and all that.
  11. If the evil, all-knowing, obnoxious American hadn't nailed him to the perch, he'd be pushing up the daisies.
  12. Thanks, Dude
  13. We sat out as long as we could, it wasn't our fight. and you still bitch about it to this day. Then we wrote the checks, and sent the raw materials, along with the planes and ships. And more than a few men. And you still bitch to this day. Afterwards, we kept the Russians out of Western Europe, at great expense. You still bitch. When was the last time in recent history mainland Europe went 60 years without major warfare? You're welcome. Seems you have this Iran situation well in hand. This should go well. Ingrates.
  14. Good work, Gil. Have fun out there. e-mail in a few weeks/months for an oil filter or some brake pads.
  15. Pete, I ran this one by Davy, he has done a heap of the recalls. His reply: Remove the sidecover, the recall kit includes 2 new sliding dogs. The late-style dogs have a machined groove on one side. Picture shows new-style dog on left, old style on right. Inspection can be done without trans removal. Dog replacement requires trans removal and disassembly. Let us know if you have any questions. Sorry for the poor picture, but I think it gets the point across.
  16. Why no warranty? Sold in late 03?-- that would be rare-- Does it come with the Ti pipes and ECU? Valid questions, it may not be that much chepaer than a new one, with warranty.
  17. Rick, depends on your budget. My first impression would be 90-92 300E. upgraded interior from the 86-89 cars, good power, will need valve job around 120K. Evaporator sometime in it's life. For a few more bucks, 94-95 E320. Another refinement of comfort features, twin cam motor. Very nice. Possible issues, Head gasket, engine wiring harness, evaporator. Avoid 96 and up-- not for the DIY. Stick with mid-size-- the small cars don't hold up. The large cars will eat you alive. If you can figure 3-7K for purchase(I paid $3200 for my 90 300CE), and set aside $200.00 for repairs/maintenance, you should be in good shape, particulary if you do your own work. You should have money left over at the end of the year. A $400+/month car note every month is anathema to me. I must confess, I have it easy. I just tell the boss if my car won't start, he'll have to open the next morning. Works every time. Another reason we aren't scared of Guzzi FI or CAN-bus in the new Breva 1100. http://mphauto.com/ Feel free to contact me if you have particular questions. We've been fixing German stuff for longer than Guzzis.
  18. Per the Moss-Magnusson(sp?) Act, in the USA, manufacturers can only require return of the vehicle to a dealer for maintenance if the service is provided free of charge. Otherwise, the manufacturer has to prove you screwed something up in order to deny a warranty claim. The idea of a dealer "voiding" your warranty because of an exhaust system or airbox kit is pure hogwash. Keep your receipts for oil filters,(4 or 5 at a time is o.k.) and oils. Keep a log of valve adjustments, etc. I have filed approx. 100 warranty claims with Guzzi per year for the last 5 years. I have never been asked for maintenance records, from our shop or anywhere else. This includes the "Exploda Quota". They asked-- did this guy change his oil? The answer was yes, every 2,00 miles with synthetic. And it still blew up. MGNA stepped up and fixed his bike.
  19. I'l wade in. When it comes to cars, if it's not German, it''s CRAP!! Current, Benz 300CE (125K miles) -Leather,ABS, cruise, sunrooof, power windows- Previous, Benz 300E (285K miles), Benz 300D(295K miles), Benz 240D(345K miles). Detect a trend? All have cost me next to nothing to buy, own, and operate. I am sure your brother-in-law has a horror story to tell, but they are all I've had for 15 years, and all I will ever own. If I totalled the one I own today, I would look for another just like it tomorrow. I bought them all used. Mileage listed is when sold. Car depreciation is for suckers. 2 new Guzzis in the last 5 years. More to come, I reckon. A full-size truck available to borrow is a wonderful thing.
  20. Good work, Gil Let's see that unit back on the road. What a long, strange trip it's been. Enjoy.
  21. Speaking of dogs you could beat with stick and only get a tail-wag: Dober-mutts rule. We have the worlds biggest wienie of a watchdog. Great "person"-ality. He's been around for 10 years. Only blood relatives have been on the payroll longer Turbo. Tx knows him. A redneck knows a good dog when he sees one. Hey Tx, no more jalapeno burgers for Turbo, please.
  22. "The TFi module includes scotchlock taps which allow you to quickly and easily splice into your stock wiring harness." Need I say more?
  23. Born on a mountain top in Tennessee, Greenest state in the land of the free. Raised in the woods so's he knew every tree, Killed him a bear when he was only three. Davy, Davy Crockett King of the Wild Frontier. Fought single handed through the Injun war, Till the Creeks was whipped and peace was restored. And while he was handling this risky chore, Made himself a legend, forevermore. Davy, Davy Crockett the man who don't know fear. He went of to Congress and served a spell Fixin' up the government and laws as well. Took over Washington, I heard tell, And patched up the crack in the Liberty Bell. Davy, Davy Crockett, seein' his duty clear. When he come home, his politickin' was done, While the western march had just begun. So he packed his gear, and his trusty gun And let out a grinnin' to follow the sun. Davy, Davy Crockett, Leadin the Pioneer. Didn't know there was an Ulster in Tennessee. Or that it featured bears.
  24. I like Mike's idea. I have a box of crapped speedos. Will look in the am, you can have one for 1/2 the going rate(12-pack, German or Dutch preferred).
  25. 1. Empire, Schmempire... 2. The check is in the mail for those Lend-Lease destroyers. Thanks so much. They were a great help. 3. Welcome to England, would you like to date my sister, Corporal? 4. Why, yes, we would appreciate your input on the Irish situation. 5. Happy 4th of July.
