  1. Hello folks, I think, I cracked the case. Once I have installed and test driven I will post pics. The installation is a mix of provided parts and old linkages of the original shifter. After install and test drive. Shifting is firm but not better. Lowering range is low, 1cm, so not a great kit for lowering your peg. Pics see attachments for fit and finish.
  2. This ARGAL adjustable foot control set came with the bike when I bought it. Has anybody installed this kit for adjustable foot controls on their V11 Cafe Sport or similar? I can't figure out how this kit fits my bike? See this picture as to how the kit looks like! Please post some pictures if you have an installed kit on your bike! Thanks a bunch!

  4. Took the ITI Speedo apart. Used a small flat screw driver and pried open the bezel (from back). As I'm not the first owner, I would assume that someone else was in there before me. The gear that is stripped is the spindle gear, looks like a dough roller with gear teath in the center (1/2 inch wide). This gear was stripped. Most of the gearing is metal, not plastic as I assumed from pictures (assuming the Veglia). The spindle engages the worm drive from the cable drive. To fix this gear a new spindle is necessary, and maybe good lubing might extend the life of that ITI gauge. I abandoned mission at this point. Buying a new ITI gauge might definitely be the easiest way, but I personally would look inside the new gauge and check on lubrication and lube all metal and plastic gears. How that would impact the longterm reliability I don't know. I personally think that the mechanical issue might return so I decided on the Speedhut GPS unit. Less mechanical, and complicated to hook up, compared to all non Moto Guzzi replacements. So I ordered a GPS Speedhut, with some customization, keep y'all posted.
  5. Thanks to all replies. I see two clear routes taken. 1. I call it the European fraction, choosing the ETB gauges and using an Acewell speed sensor which need some thread adjustments to connect the sensor to the gearbox. 2. The American fraction chooses the SpeedHut GPS Speedo. I'm very intrigued about the Customs options.... My question: Is there any successful attempt in using a speed sensor with the Speedhut gauges? As far as I could tell, nothing out of the box has been found to get a new gauge and a fitting sensor option that simply works together w/o considerable surgery? 3. Is there another Moto Guzzi gauge (maybe later models, Griso, Stelvio, Breva etc) that can be connected to the exiting mechanical cable drive? Thanks again for any reply.
  6. Replicating the white face Veglia, and adding every option available from Speedhut, added to the cost. Having them build faces similar to the black face ITI is likely more straight forward (read: cheaper). There is still the matter of fitting and mounting the Speedhut (not exactly "plug&play") and whether they can stand the weather. What kind of sensor did you use to drive the Speedo, I'm still in the fog on how I transfer a mechanical cable drive to an electronic speedo? The adapeters mentioned either don't have the right thread, or can't be use because of space issues. Is yours the GPS solution? Also any pic from the mounting and fitting? Thanks a bunch. p
  7. How could it be a cable issue if the speedo needle still works? More likely an internal failure of the odo drive, tapping the instrument free'd up/disconnected the speedo from the odo. Just trying to go by what he said. yes, speedometer works the, the odometer is dead...will probably go for a Speedhut. THX p
  8. Hello, the odometer on my Cafe Sport stopped working recently. Symptoms were slowing turn over on the dial and dancing speedometer needle. While riding I hit the instruments and the speedo reacted normal but the odometer counter (trip and and total mileage stopped working..). Any suggestions? I know one big cable housing below the instrument cluster routes under the tank.....have not investigated any further yet. Suggestions..solutions? Thanks a bunch!

  10. Kiwi, You are the MAN. To whom it may concern; be very careful when probing at the connector. If your probe is too lage it can expand the terminal and not allow it to make a good connection causing you LOTS of trouble. I prefer to use the pin type probes and go in at the wire side of the connector. If I remember correctly, you will want about .450v with Key On Engine Off at the b terminal of the tps. All, Thanks for your help and information provided. Still a stunning topic: I refer to a Moto Guzzi Training Video "Throttle adjustment for V11" (Someone has posted a link to these). I watched the video and compared with the Shop Manual (V11 update). This manual is about all the updates the V11 series received, like suspension, steering etc..so here are the quotes: Section goes to plug in and boot up the Axone 2000...(I do not have this system, only voltmeter) 1. Disengage rod 'I' on throttle body right sides ('I' = rode connecting the throttle bodies 2. Using the special throttle adjusting grub screw "L" (hidden way back on the right throttle body, adjust TPS sensor at 3.8 deg (+/- 0.1deg), value read on Axone 2000. The video stats a note: potentiometer reading 550mV (+/- 5mV)... 3. Connect rod 'I' on throttle body on right side. 4. Fully close the by pass screws "M" on both sides 5. Bring grub screw on left throttle body fully home, make sure not to change throttle opening angle. (Note: I interpreted this as screw the grub screw in until it barely touches the throttle lever (visual measured with thin sheet of paper and then a slight turn to barely touch the throttle lever) 6. Warm up engine to (50 deg C, measured by Axone 2000), I simply warmed up the engine) 7. Connected a vacuum meter, (shown in manual and video). same I use for my BMW R 1150R 8. Check at 2000-3000 rpm, by adjusting the white plastic nut under left Throttle body that left and right cylinder show same reading (equal vacuum). 9. Gradually open both by-pass screws so as to reach an idling speed 1,100 (+/- 50 rpm). I read the rpm on my rpm meter on cockpit. That was basically it. I played with the vacuum screws to fine tune (sound and throttle response feel)until it ran smoothly... Final comment: I'm still puzzled by the mentioned voltage reading of 150 mV by a 'DISCONNECTED' TPS (3 wire connecting plug removed from TPS, but ignition key on). Since the picture in the shop manual shows the TPS connector unplugged how can you read any voltage on it???? The step is also at the end of the entire chapter. The shop manual also does not give a mV reading that relates to the throttle 3.8 deg Axone 2000 reading, but the VIDEO does..any feedback and comments welcome. Happy riding!
  11. No problem as far as I can tell, the Cafe Sport runs like a charm. I simply want to understand the TPS measure with a voltmeter and know where to measure it. Want to check the throttle positioning...bought my bike used with Power Commander, Ferraci race exhaust, open BMC air filter etc..and wonder if the bike has a special throttle set up. I love to work on my bikes...and simply want to know how it works. Option1: I think the description talks about measuring the voltmeter reading by clipping / accessing the wires at the TPS (while the ignition is on). I refer to the following write up: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12204 Option 2: reading at the ECU...? but where and how and with what tool. I assume you would access the information with a special Engine Diagnose Reading tool at the electronic reading coupling, next to the ECU? (as described in the official shop manual?). Is there an alternative way at the ECU? Any detail with picture appreciated.

  13. Yes, this is another great product vendor SW-MOTECH. I contacted GIVI if they have a system for the V11 series Guzzis. Received an official Givi response: "Thank you for contacting GIVI motorcycle accessories. We appreciate the interest you have shown in our products. We do not offer any products for this model" (2004 V11 Cafe Sport). So far it looks that SW -MOTECH (sold by Twisted Throttle) might be the best choice for me on a Tankring Lock / Tankbag system.
  14. Howdy, new to this forum. Looked at twisted Throttle but no Tanklock rings for V11s. Is there a ring that fits the V11?
