I changed out the whole kit and caboodle. See http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17811&hl=cabernet Not quite sure where you are, but I plan to be at the Newcott chippy, by "Lynn Ravens" café on Pree's Heath on Thursday evening sometime between 19:30 and 20:30 on the V11. If you want to come and snoop around a bit, fill your boots.

I went to a Pazzo distributor on the V11 and he identified a Ducati system and I rode away with them on the bike. I went for a red/black combination, the red matching the footrest hangers and now my clock mount too. The Pazzo rest easier in the hand giving a crisper, cleaner feel adding to finesse in control, particularly the clutch.

There was a bad batch of the spacers that fit between the beatings inner race. If you are regularly doing rear bearings, try a new spacer.
-
I wouldn't dare do that.

Started out with Bridgestone BT014/023 combination. Got offered some Pirelli's cheap when having just got a second set of wheels. Found them better. Just switched to Mich RoadPilot II. Only done a shake down ride and Trackday on them so far, but they install the most confidence of the three mentioned.

Voltmeter / Charging indicator - What are you using and how is it wire
Cabernet replied to danl's topic in Technical Topics
With the odometer being unreliable, the rev counter misting up, I changed out the lot for a TransLogic micro dash which has a voltmeter and temperature gauge. -
I have only seen the oil light flicker up once. That was at tick over once the big end had already gone. Even in that state at 2,500 rpm the oil light would go out.

Is there not a funny spacer spigot thing that would necessitate bearing removal to reverse.
-
That is my understanding too.

Yeah, mine was off the road 16 months. Mind you, I have got very acquainted with my 750 Breva. Using the BMW rider knock back of, "Perhaps, but my Guzzi has pert tits", the Breva has a pair of fried eggs compared to the voluptuous V11, but they still do a fine job and are more practical in every day life.

re-balancing the crankshaft: down the rabbit hole, again?

Or graft two BMW cylinders and fifty vertical one making a 5/8 radial. -
re-balancing the crankshaft: down the rabbit hole, again?

Basically, you have to split the engine from the gearbox to get in to the clutch housing, to release the crank out the block, so "no" as you expected. -
Meh! Kinda sole that phrase from the caravaners and camperers They have a battery in the car or in the van part of the camper, then have a secondary battery for lighting and alike in the living area when the caravan or camper is parked up. Those batteries are of the deep drain type, designed to be run to full discharge and re-charge repeatedly. I used to work in oil refining and some of the systems had battery back ups which had similar qualities only more compact.

A 90deg tyre valve adapter.

You only need the spring. Any worth while break down service will have the tools. Some silicon gasket goo might be a good plan too.

My 2001 BMWR850R was non ABS, but had the compartment for it. Made a great storage place for a leisure battery. This would charge when I was riding but was isolated from the bike by a relay on the oil warning circuit. Therefore you could run the leisure battery flat and still have the bikes battery for starting.

I have Klan socks, fleece and gloves. Rarely use them. To much of a faff for our climate. Heated wrap around grips. The Klan stuff is good, I just can't be bothered with it.

Silly is a bit strong. But I had done 8 or 9 track days and spent the other of the 15,000 miles on Sunday ride outs riding it like I stole it. That said, I have put my 750 Breva through the same for longer, although not on track. I have also put Jap bike though the same misery with no ill effects, 4 of them approaching 100,000 miles and a 5th I sold running sweet with 184,000 miles I having dialed in 150,000 of them. With approaching 900,000 miles without an issue, why would one think that a manufacturer would make a bike engine with an oil pick up that can't cope withe bikes own performance after 15,000 miles and need an addition part inside the engine to protect it.

The crank came from parts@ducatisanantonio.com . It was cheaper to buy it from the states and get it shipped to the UK. The con-rod came from a UK SW London dealer. Moto Mecca as I recall. I got a sump slop plate from http://www.gutsibits.co.uk/pr/Home/index.php Then it was just gaskets. Borrowed the clutch aligning too rom a local Suzuki dealer who had a Guzzi franchise when the V11s were new.
