  1. Greg bender's site lists several replacements...for the older loop frame motors. I doubt they have changed, but caveat emptor and no warranties expressed or implied. You might ought to check the low pressure limit on any substitute. http://www.thisoldtractor.com/gtbender/loopframe_engine.htm#gtb_oil_pressure_sending_unit_cross_references
  2. Yes, mine is angled about 45 degrees (ummm, wait a sec). Dunno what the threads are but they are bound to be metric equivalent of pipe threads I imagine. Not near my bike, so I can't look.

    Clutchless upshifts?

I don't see why it would cause problems if you do it properly. I can envision expensive damage if one shifts poorly. I learned on old 3 speed trucks and farm tractors to mesh gears and rpm or the Dad yells at you. I use some clutch anyhow in just about every shift, but as you say, that's my preference.
  4. Is there evidence of an oil leak (black, oily stanchions, etc)?
  5. A rare occasion on which I can make a youtube contribution:
  6. Yes, you have to drill holes. I'd suggest using a mill. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1061 Cheers, J
  7. You could use a zip tie to secure it to the frame. And yes, just route the straps around the steering head. I fastened them down with safety pins, so the extra strap doesn't flap around. Fwiw, I like my factory bag. It's just about the right size for my collections of carrying stuff.
  8. That is much more narrow than I first thought. It looks great! I hope it is working well for you.
  9. Funny- A Bobcat's not that big
  10. This is true. I would focus elsewhere, like perhaps the oil line has a tear? If you do use Teflon tape on any connection, be very careful in its application. Do not use too much andhavebits of tape pushing thorough your oil galleys. My brother once seized a truck engine that way. I use Teflon containing pipe dope, personally. The solids are much finer, and it is pretty versatile as a sealant.
  11. And what type of rocks are those? I've been looking for some nice stones to photograph recently, and those are some fine examples.

    My new Guzzi

Uh, nice cans? I've heard good reviewson the performance exhaust and it came with an ECU that seemed to be work well. That was a good bit of sleuthing on the kill switch. Never rule out the unexpected, I suppose. I just came back home on a few of the Same roads. Jerome, AZ and Hwy 89/89a are such nice roads!
  13. That does look good! Glad to hear it runs well, too Jason
  14. I've had marginal success removing air by the old 'pump and ope/close' the bleeder valve. A vacuum bleeder works mo' betta.
  15. As am I. I'm in Somerville, MA. I'd be happy to help. Cheers, Jason
  16. I'm sorry to hear that. My best wishes and thoughts are with the family. So under the veneer of chicken-abuser Pete, you're a saint. I'll help spread the word on your bike. Jason
  17. Good for both of you. I still regret selling the Jackal we had. I just got back from picking up a new bike also. What the heck is going on around here? Sunspots? Anyhow, I added a few miles....rode it from Phoenix, AZ to Boston, MA. The United States is truly a beautiful and diverse country, but my ass hurts. this is at one of the passes in Colorado. Del Norte maybe? Anyhow- it was cold.
  18. Moto international (Greg Field's workplace) sells a nifty set of o-rings that will damn well eliminate any oil migration along the clutch pushrod. It is cheap and effective. One other possibility (13? 14?) is the oil return tube could be leaking. OK, that's pretty remote- call it 13.5.
  19. Have you ever loosened the front forks? A wobble can also be caused by mis-aligned fork tubes, but I think this might manifest as a high speed (and dangerous) wobble. Common to some old BMW's. edit: woohoo (or sigh). this is my 4K post. Better change my oil.
  20. Might also look at 'Voltage regulator swap' Less likely candidate, but worth a read, nonetheless.
  21. Older (Tonti) Guzzis are famous for having the main wiring connector at the back of the headlight getting corroded or coming loose. It causes exactly those symptoms...especially on sharp left turns (like across oncoming traffic...ask me how I know). So, check any exposed connectors as well.

    Earths

I added a wire from the triple clamp to the engine on a 2001 V11 sport. Otherwise, the headlight ground path is through the steering head bearings. J
