  1. I think the directional signals are the same as Buell uses. Not sure about lenses: smoked/amber/clear or whatever color is used. I replaced my clutch lever with one from CRG, but it was close to $100, so if you are happy with orig. equipment, go with that.
  2. Use that blue, clear urethane stuff, perhaps? It seems to work well on most of my bikes and is forgiving in terms of size. I've bought it at various motorcycle shops....if you are looking for one specifically, call Neds Auto and Cycle in Riverside, IA. Jim has always known exactly the size of whatever goofball stuff I've asked of him.
  3. Shoot, this is the first I have heard. That boy was a character, fo' sho' and funny as hell when he was on his game. Best of luck and fair riding. I'll raise a toast to him this eve.

    Strange deposit

It is almost certainly oil emulsified with water (condensate). During spring, when it's cold and wet, you'll have to ride long enough to get the engine fully hot (which might be hard to do). Mick is right- the cure is to ride longer/further. Not a bad prescription, eh?
  5. You have a good attitude. My hat is off to you.
  6. Can someone make a belly-button ring with the eagle logo? I'd be up for large or XL short sleeve shirt. Not too particular about color.
  7. Well, that's good and bad, I suppose. I like owning my own home as opposed to renting, but mainly because I like to do all my own maintenance. I'm renting right now 'cause we are living in Boston for a year. But- the real question is- what is the enduro in the back there? Good Luck, J
  8. point to the right --> point to the left take your pick, my friend.
  9. Nice to see you doing a bit of motocross there. Lovely pictures. Sadly, the end of January brings me to a point where all my bikes are in St. Louis, all of me is in Boston. It was 4 F this morning and I was so desperate for a bike fix that I went to the Ducati dealership. The 798 hypermotard is looking mighty sweet. On a happy note though, it's the daughter's 4th birthday tomorrow. We got her a bicycle. Don't tell her.
  10. Looks good Is that a set of LED replacement lights as well?

    BJ Scwartz

Yes, I think Guzzi people are unique- at least in the states. In my experience, a typical rally is that most folks arrive on Friday- often late. There's some staying up late, drinking and general partying, but not loud boisterous stuff (except maybe the Wisconsin boys ). Mostly it's sitting around the campfire, talking about bikes kind of partying. Saturday, about half the people are up just after dawn and off for a ride until the evening meal, which is almost always included in the ridiculously low rally fee. Less drinking on Saturday night, then Sunday morning at dawn most riders are up, packed and leaving with the sunrise. Guzzi riders tend to be folks who like to ride. Not so much bar to bar as real, backroad, scenic touring. It's a fun crowd. BJ was a real pioneer and a champion for Guzzi riders. I had the pleasure to meet him at a couple of rallies, and he really was as described- a gentleman, knowledgeable, and a good entertaining conversationalist.

    Surrogates!

That's cool. Did they use the right exhaust note or did they overlay an inline 4 for the soundtrack?
  15. Hey, how'd that happen? I'm going to have to wind that watch...

    Yearly Depression

Today (Dec. 8) is the anniversary of John Lennon's assassination. Makes me a bit blue every year. Abbey Road was the first album I ever bought. I was five and worked- actually did farm field work- to buy it. So, I spin a few Beatles and Plastic Ono albums in respect. On a related note, it seems all the musical greats are dying. Robert Degen, who claimed to have written the "hokey pokey" recently died peacefully at age 104. Everything was normal until the undertaker tried to put him in the coffin. He put his left foot in...then the trouble began.
  17. I suppose I should change the oil... There's a set of Wilbur's springs that could be put in, but frankly, I'm pretty happy with the way it rides now. Excellent time to park it, I guess.
  18. Uh oh. I've got more bikes than she has pairs of shoes. Say, maybe I'M the mistress..... I'll take it.
