So, if you want to test it out, just post the number here on the forum. Someone will be sure to call you at the worst possible time Seriously- I'm looking at ATT also (though not the iPhone...) so let me know how coverage is. J -
Good find!

I'm glad you brought this up. I'm in a similar situation, so I've done a small amount of research. I'm not an expert and I could be mis-informed on some of this. For world access, you'll mostly be limited to T-mobile, Cingular and AT$T compatible phones. If you want a phone for political reasons and support liberal causes, you could get Credo service (it's listed on wikipedia and they have a web site). It's the mobile branch of Working Assets. Credo uses the Sprint network, if I recall. My friend who travels all over (US/Europe/S. America/Australia/etc) uses the AT&T network. I'm thinking of doing that as well. My general advice is simple: get the coverage that you will use around your home and work. That's 99.9% of the calling you will use. -

on a serious note, every sunday night here is STL, there is a community radio program called Chicken Shack that absolutely rocks the rhythm and blues. KDHX.org You can stream it to your computer wherever you are. Good (blues/R& streams are the weekday afternoon programs: Soul Selector, Blursday, Blues in the night, and Sunday's Chicken Shack. -

Tough luck, old bean. It took him 6 months and a day, 10 stone of scones and a partridge in a pear tree. Ever since GStallions put up 'Johnny B. Goode', I have 'You can't judge a book by it's cover' stuck in my head. (yes, I know it's Bo Diddley, but still...) Good call on Nick Cave, Jihem. -

I slightly favor St. Dominic's over Astral Weeks, but they're both good albums. I'll go with 'Jackie Wilson Said' from Van Side two of Abbey Road (to me it's just one long song) Art Blakey 'A Night in Tunisia' If that isn't rock n roll, I don't know what is. Eddie Cochran 'Summertime Blues' Sir Douglas Quintet 'She's About a Mover' Well, that's right now. Ask me tomorrow or in 10 minutes and you'll get a different list. Heck, I didn't even get any Stax records on there. gavo- I tried to get at least two decades in. Some of the early rock is academically interesting, but not something I would characterize as a favorite. Much of the recent music that passes as rock is, well, past me. -
That was my first thought also. Must be the paint color.

I often read this board with my 2.5 yr old daughter in my lap. She can't quite read yet, but I am still wary of which threads I open. There's a certain thread (something to do with owls?) that I just avoid in her presence.... 99% of the stuff posted here is just fine and fun to read. But really, whether you agree with Paul's decision or not- it's his decision. While I appreciate the variety of viewpoints here, my understanding is that Paul and Jaap own/run the board, so as far as I'm concerned, they can shut anything down that they want. They don't like oatmeal cookies? Don't post on oatmeal cookies. End of story. I can live with that. Whether I like it or not is irrelevant.

my tiny bearing? If ever Big Sandy and his Fly Rite boys come through your town, go see them. Heck of a show. Guard yer women. Actually, now as I recall, his steel guitar player was (is?) Irish. So, there. -
I don't know where my pics are of my 300B SE's are...and I don't want to hijack a "rat" thread....feels like I could get beat up.

Belfast, it's just a Linn Basik, but that's still a fabulous arm. I read about the wood-o-philes, but that's taking things a bit extreme even for me. Here's the current setup: I don't have pictures of the guts handy- I'll see if I can dig them up. I machined an T-shaped aluminum piece to float under some springs and a tube/bucket sort of thing to hold the bearings for the platter. Too technical? -
I've had one for a couple (three?) years now and it's probably the best function/price mod I've done (excepting free stuff). Big thumb's up!

I built my own record player using some parts from an AR (with some improvements). Added a Sumiko tonearm and she's good to go. I have a Linn tonearm that I want to use, but I'm going to build a balls out platter for that and I haven't thought enough about the motor. -
True 'dat. OK, folks. I asked once nicely. Two.

John, the nonsense and posturing was what I was warning against on the first page. No, I didn't shut the thread down then, and I don't plan or want to now. I would find that as distasteful as you would. 'So it has come to this'. I'm thinking it's close. But you are right; there isn't any name calling or personal slander. Just a reminder folks- please be respectful of others, whether you think they deserve it or not. And let's just move away from the discussions of guns. There is a large difference in the perception of guns and gun ownership on either side of the ocean. Take it to personal messages or email if you want. thanks, Jason

The US elections are very emotional on all sides, so let's not discuss it here, please. This is a V11 Sport forum. I'll shut this thread down with the first complaint. Good 'viagra' joke, btw.

Dude, you need a new mistress. As the bluesman said, my baby brings me whisky when I ask for water.

Could you remind me what cam you are running in it? The stock cam seems to run out of breath a little above 100mph (top gear), but does pretty well on the bottom end. personally, I like the small valve motors. Plenty of go and plenty of inexpensive spare parts. Nice Job!!!

They are fun, that is the truth. I gave mine to my mother..... she sold it and bought some giant Suzuki with a sidecar. Go figure.
