  1. I'm impressed! Happy Birthday!
  2. I imagine you had a defective bolt. Glad you are OK.
  3. Hi Todd, What are you thinking about- same OD? Same ID? Single wall? Polished or brushed or unfinished? Would they be the later style with a front crossover or straight headers? Thanks, J
  4. I didn't save mine. It was just a bit left of center and more of a librarian than an author.
  5. Adenva Davena Evanda Avedna Vedana Venada Fo-Fo-Banana?
  6. Rigos? Gosir? Gorne? Engro? GMS? SMG? hmmm, smg actually sounds familiar.

    Chassis balance

I put higher bars (2, 3" maybe) on my Sport- it definitely biases the weight aft. An easy way to compensate for this is to fill your front tire with Argon or Radon and the rear tire with Hydrogen or Helium. I prefer radon for the front because it's so common in my geographic location.
  8. prost? trosp? varbe? vaerb? norflacil?
  9. You mean a XYZ@gmail.com? I have a gmail acct, and I don't consider myself a spammer. However, I can get you a good deal on V14GR4... seriously, this is good to know since I'm going to retire my email acct that I use here.
  10. My opinion on carbon fiber pipes are to get aluminum ones. The carbon fiber fades with UV exposure, and the weight savings on a guzzi is like one feather on a goose. I have round mistral cans, and I like them. I think the ovals look better, though. Consider getting a Stucchi crossover- I found that to be a very effective mod. I don't know if Edge is still selling "edge guards" (do a search), but they are a nice addition to any fender eliminator. FBF and maybe rossopuro sell eliminators. FWIW, I bobbed my own fender- it was cheap and easy. FWIW #2, if you eliminate the fender, the rear wheel will throw crap up on your back, because it sticks out ever so slightly behind the tail section. As far as getting said pieces, you might call MPH cycles (a site sponsor) or Moto International or, since you are in the midwest, Ned's Auto and Cycle in Riverside, IA (my local dealer). All are excellent.

    guzzi crash

Tough luck, indeed! Hope you heal quickly and completely
  12. Shrapnel Italia Now showing at a Guzzi website near you Rated VD for 'very disturbing'.
  13. Interesting! But do they still use the same rear main bearing???
  14. Quite a list. However, Robert Altman died today.
  15. yep, that's common advice. Good thing I have a spare set in my basement. No, you can't have them. I'm building up my round fin. Truth be told, a lot of folks re-use the rod bolts. I don't have the experience to say if that is wise or not.
  16. I have no idea how the Nevada drives, but the looks: But that's just me. On the other hand, I think the Breva is bella. Ben, I'm not calling you fat. You're big-boned, ok?

    Hi :)

What the hell are doing googling? Get out and ride my man, go ride. Nice bike, BTW!
  18. 7:50 in the am, 32 F or 0 C a nice warm morning for this time of year.
  19. This thread is getting a little off topic, so: 9:32 in the pm
  20. I have a feeling that smilie and some aspirin will come in handy pretty often. I think the Breva 750 is probably a bit small for you Ben. It fits my wife pretty well (5' 6" and all legs )
  21. Sage advice. I think bigbikerick still had a transmission- not the engine. Does Frank Wedge still have an engine? And, if it boils down to it, I'd wager Gary's bike would damn well sorted out and worth a bit more than $4.5K. Ask him if he'd thow in a hose clamp (I'm not disparaging Greg, just pokin fun in general)
  22. That's the fun of it.
  23. I doubt it's the timing chain. Yes, they'll run if you are off by one tooth, but I don't see that happening. Do a couple of tests to narrow down your possibilities. Remove the oil-pressure sensor and the spark plugs, then crank the engine over. If the oil pump is functioning, it will shoot oil out the hole. Makes a mess, so careful where you aim that thing. By all means, drop the pan and take a look up in the sump. I've had one instance of failure that partially resembles what you describe. I had the roller ball from the speedo drive fall into the transmission (on a five speed) . After a while, the transmission made grinding noises and locked up the rear wheel off and on. At highway speeds. But some of your symptoms could also be explained by clutch failure....
  24. I'm not sure silver wire would give any benefits. The difference in resistance/capacitance of Cu and Ag are negligable. A better solution would be to increase the inductance of the alternator by decreasing the gap between rotor and stator. A few more windings around the rotor would give better output.
