  1. I'm not sure it actually recyles to the gas tank- I think the charcoal is there to absorb gas vapors before they get to the atmosphere. There is a gas recycling system in that mess of hoses, but I don't know how effective it is. On the other hand, it seemed to make no difference before/after I removed mine.
  2. Absolutely. I have in this some quality Guzzis that I might sell to you. My trustworthy agent will accept payment and I will send you the difference.
  3. Hmmm, your brochure is intriguing and I would like to hear more of your theories.
  4. Well, there really shouldn't be any issues (that I know of). That bike has been in continous production for decades with little modifications. If you like the seating position, it should be a rock-solid machine and a great bike. At least I hope so! Good luck with her! Ben- I was just messing with you......maybe.
  5. Happy Birthday, Jaap! I raise a glass of single malt to you tonight!
  6. I'm not sure there is a defininitive site for the cruiser models. Guzzitech.com hosts a couple of forums- The most populated is general tech info, and two others for the new Breva and Griso respectively. MGNOC is a hodgepodge; I hardly go there anymore because I don't have time to sift through the personals, but I think there is some good reading if you can find it. There's fewer postings here, so I do have time to sift through them. There is a Jackal group on Yahoo.com groups site...but I don't think it sees much traffic. Good luck. Feel free to stick around here also- there's lot's of crossover info and just as many spirited posters as anywhere else. Many of us own or have owned Tonti framed Guzzis.
  7. Fork tubes are the same height? I really hope not, but a tube could be bent- that'll certainly cause your problems. What about a clogged valve? I dunno anything about this last one, but it comes to mind.

    Bar end removal?

The rubber tip pops out- it's just a plug in an allen head- 5 or 6 mm. edit- the rubber tip I'm talking about is at the end...er the nipple on the teat, to borrow a different thread running here. also, use a strap wrench, no channel locks, so you don't mar the surface.

    Tank Bra

I thought it was the BM's that had a sagging problem. Sorry- I think bagster makes a tank cover- here's the search results for bagster
  10. Oh, gosh I'm so sorry Belfast. I'm going to do a search right now. Well, right after I check the time.
  11. LOL. ok, that's funny v50mon.

  13. I've got a TV card in my computer, so I just recorded it straight off the satellite signal. I can write a CD for US folks, and I'll post it on my work computer as soon as I can for the rest o' ya'll. I'm not going to post it in the next day or so however- They shut down the hoods at my work (I'm a chemist) so the building is Naaassssty. I don't even want to go in for any length of time without proper ventilation. But- I'll get it there and post the addy. The reason for the PM is that I'd rather not publish the address and login if necessary. Any other ideas? I don't do this very often, so there might be a much easier way. Staedler?

    Electric Start

Dave- the posilock things look cool. Have you used them?
  15. I can put it on a server for you to download if you would like. I recorded it, but I'm not sure how big the file is- I'll PM you tomorrow...or day after tomorrow for Australia.
  16. I don't know of any *direct* fit forks aside from the boutique Ohlins. Ummm...yesterday bigbikerick posted this sad story. You might check that out.
  17. They do like to toot their own horn. Francesco, you might also have your dealer put some dielectric grease in all the accessible electrical (molex) connections. Also, remove and replace the electric fuel petcock with a manual piece (might already be done).
  18. Winningest marque, yes- also one of the the most prolific in terms of engine designs- I wish they had played that up a bit more. Overall, I am surprised they even made that show and dedicated 15 minutes (half the show) to Guzzi. I'm pleased, but a little surprised. Maybe things are on the upswing for Guzzi.
  19. Sounds like more than a 'tap' on the bumper. Well- the important part is that you lived and will heal up. I'm sorry this happened- don't jump on selling the bikes, though. Heal up first. I know fellows that are north of 80 that still ride.

    Fork Special tools

Ratchet- this topic comes up regularly enough, and you've given a nice complete answer every time. Would you consider writing this up and submitting it as a FAQ?
  21. You owe me a keyboard. Mine has wine in it now.
  22. Okie- I'm sorry, I didn't see this. I posted the same information. Well, still it's worth looking at... hope it's worth a sh*t.
  23. So, are these body parts the same as on the SP? I imagine your legs are well-protected. J Edit: hey- 3K posts. It's official. I have too much time on my hands! Everybody now- Gooooooooooo, Belfast!
