    My Griso...

Overall, sounds like a winner. Interesting comments on the frame geometry. One comment- there's no link to the MG S.p.a. Quicktime movie. I neeeeed to see it. Thanks Todd!
  2. 39 Euro? That's not a bad price at all. Gil, did you check the bolt for tightness? Maybe it just got loose is all. Second point- you mention you have a set of 3/8" drive allens. I hope they aren't Craftsman brand. Every set I've ever had (that'd be two sets) have been undersized. It's ok for low torque fittings, but not some of the other places.

    Clutchless gearshifts

I had a 1954 Pontiac with a hydramatic transmission that I could push start. It had a straight 8 in it and that was the smoothest running motor I've ever driven.
  4. Sorry- I could see it just fine. I deleted it out of the post so it wouldn't load into the thread again. That model looks a little top-heavy. Not too bad, though. dlaing, I think it'd be GREAT if Guzzi used the Falcone name again. Of course, I think they are working on a modern verision of one, using the Scura as a base testing unit. Notice all the exposed flywheels on 'em? /ducks for cover...

    Clutchless gearshifts

What's wrong with a column shifter? I've got a three-on-the-tree in my truck I was always partial to the push-button transmissions however. Those look cool. Nowadays, I have this goofy-assed knob on the Prius, which makes no sense ( and thus is the perfect car for me?) Check it out: There's a weird knob for drive/reverse, but big button for park. And why is it going 55mph with NO DRIVER???!!!
  6. Is this (picture deleted) a photoshop?
  7. Dude, you win with this one. I've done some long rides, but they were also long ago when I was young and didn't sleep. San Fran to Austin, 26 hours. Virginia Beach to Cape Canaveral (to watch a Shuttle take off) then to Austin- 60ish hours, but I took a nap. Anymore, the longest I'll do is about an 800 mile day. I guess I could get up early and put in 200 more, but what's the point? I like sleep nowadays. And coffee. Anyway- if you decide to run one of these, take some aspirin with you.
  8. Check to see that the intake boots and throttle bodies are sealed up and not leaking? Now that you mention the wiring- have you checked the ambient temperature resistor? It's in the intake air filter box- two wires and tiny orange or red resistor that you might not be able to see.
  9. Ugly or not, I could go for the Black Prince. What's the first bike? Some kind of Honda 90 variant?

    OT

I thought that's what dogs are for.
  11. It's not as simple as just replacing the fuel pressure regulator?
  12. I'll believe it when I see it.
  13. ok ok, you're a Gang. Geez, I was only funnin' ya. Well, Belfast has taken up smoking. Canada and Denmark were going to war over an island, but then someone mentioned girls and/or beer, and Bill Hagan is buying a new blue truck. Same old, same old.
  14. And the Polizia in Italy think we are nuts for riding on Guzzis. I was talking with a motor officer in Milan- when I told him I liked my Guzzis, his response was (and I quote): He then looked over at my rented BMW R1150 (a real pig) and said 'bellisimo' No accounting for taste, I guess.
  15. Sorry, you're still a gang. When you prove your mettle by smoking a cigarette behind the administration building....then you're a Gang.

    Look at this!

Cool. Be sure to post some pictures.
  19. One left. Send me an email or pm. Ointment is extra.
  20. I've seen this on the web: http://www.kustomz.com/guzzi.html I don't have any experience with them. It's also not clear to me whether Kurtz supplies the flywheel or he just cuts down one that you already have. I'd bet the latter.
  21. By non-generic lights, you mean not the standard 7" round GE bulb? Good riddance to those damned yellow things. I have no idea what kind of lights they are using, but I do hope one can get standard replacement bulbs for them. Knowing Guzzi's history....I have no reason to doubt your assertion. The thing I don't understand is limited fuel capacity. I want a 300 mile (500 km) range on a touring bike. There is no excuse for 6 gal tank unless the bike gets 50 mpg. Still, with that tank (23 L/6 gal), it'll go 200 miles and I can't ride for much more than that without stretching my legs. Time will tell, I guess.
  22. Like a fat boy that actually handles well and has some grunt, I'd bet. I think the Norge is ok. A little more makeup than I'm used to, but still- it's a Guzzi. I would like to see a sport bike produced as well. Guzzi can make some beautiful bikes when they keep it simple.
  23. I agree in principle, but there have also been some impressive examples of Goldwings travelling around the globe. I'll see if I can dig up pictures.
