    Bring out yer dead!

    No one expected that! ..
  2. More than I care to admit.
  3. I don't like to use sealants on the valve covers, because they just come back off on a regular basis. A dab of motor oil (convienently located on top of the cylider) seals it up nicely.
  4. Does this fix the vapor lock?
  5. I've had it for about a year now. I like your idea of watching it though- I'll give that a shot as well as the measurement. J
  6. Glad to hear you and yours are ok, and glad to have you back TX.
  7. You might try cleaning up the shifter linkage first. Also clean and grease the bolt that the shift rocker lever rides on. It's simpler than taking the tranny apart.....

  9. Bah, everyone knows the latest fashions are coming from California
  10. Try using papaya. It has an enzyme in it that will tenderize any protein.
  11. Belfast, these are called "flashbacks". You don't remember much of the '60s, do you?
  12. We've thrown pointed jagged posts up. We have written tender letters of support. It has always been honorable. There has been no blood, no real animosity. It is in those words that I have quietly slipped in Hemingway.
  13. Thanks Mike, I'll do that. It's not bad, but I can feel it just before I stop. There's one particular grippy place, so sometimes I stop a little more abruptly than I like.
  14. Wow, I don't have anything like the warpage you describe. I measured the runout on my disks and it's within spec. Maybe I have something else going on?
  15. You'd need a hell of a magnetic field to trigger a traffic light-a permanant magnet is too small to fit and the charging system on the V11 won't support the requirements for an electromagnet. Now, if you want something that absolutely works, build a high output IR flasher (~100 Hz). It's probably illegal, but it uses the detectors that emergency vehicles use to trigger lights. They use very little power since you can make them from a pad of LED's. If you want a circuit diagram, let me know.
  16. I even went and saw the man in about '81 or '82. Dayum, he's a god. Oh, wait- Dayum he was a god. A cranky, difficult god. Much like my cat, actually.
  17. I've been having a similar issue with my Eldorado and there ain't no damn spacers in that wheel. Anyhoo- how did you ascertain that you had warped rotors? I'm afraid I might have one- the front brakes pulse a little bit more than I like. Funny thing is- I looked at the rear brake and noticed heat discoloration, but it still brakes smoothly. Time for some cleanage, I guess.
  18. Somehow, the name fits your avatar.. Dude, that thing scares me. Should it?
  19. Uh, Montana referred to the late great Mr. Zappa. While I have been through Montana, I did not- in point of fact- have either a banana nor dental floss that I know of. I'll get the song and...make it available to you. Check your mailbox tomorrow. BTW, for most music downloads, I've been using www.allofmp3.com (btw, they don't have any D.A.- I looked). It's Russian and it shows. Apparently, they don't have to pay much of the royalties that the rest of the world does, so song downloads are unusually cheap and still legal. They've gotten 75 or 100 bucks from me and no weird charges have shown up on my CC, so it looks legit. And I dig the vinyl. I just ordered a couple more old jazz and blues albums. I'm a luddite in the grand tradition. I still use tube amps. And horn speakers...And I drive a Guzzi. It all comes back to Guzzis and gas.
  20. Found a vinyl copy. Might just have to buy it......

  22. Not familiar with Ackles...but after reading a bit, it sounds like I'll have to pick up one of his albums.
  23. You have a life? If you're gonna go out, do it in style: Brough Superior? I know- it's been done, but some things are timeless.
  24. Not anymore in this age of plastic surgery.
