Hey Docc, Here she is with the Techspec grips. They are nice and grippy, and break up all that red on the tank.
-
I wound up finding a pair through NiceCycle.com for a reasonable price. They are the Tech Spec snake skin type

Thanks for posting the pictures, sp838. Those look great! Are they permanent or can they be taken off, just in case I need to revert back to stock? Also, where do they sell them? Thanks!

Does anyone have a picture of a v11 with tank grips on the tank? I'd like to put some on mine. None of the pictures on this thread are visible.

I put a day permit on my Ballabio today and went for a ride with my brother. While pulling over on the side of the road to take a rest break the front tire slipped on some water saturated mossy ground and down the Ballabio (and me with it) went. Broke the end off the brake lever and the lens off one of the turn signals, but my ego took the most damage! So, that's what I did to my V11 today...

Did the repair for me at a very reasonable cost. Its good to have a mechanic that knows these bikes close by. Once again, I highly recommend Valley Moto.

I was in there the other day getting my shifter sorted out properly. I replaced the shift spring but couldn't get the bike to shift without getting false neutrals regularly. So I removed the cover and Gord at Valley Moto

Preemptive Shift Return Spring and Pawl Arm Replacement
guzzijek replied to sp838's topic in Technical Topics
Thanks for the sources. I phoned my local shop Valley Moto in Chilliwack and they have some in stock. At $10 each I think I'll pick up a couple and keep a spare handy. Is the Cannon spring better?- 48 replies

Preemptive Shift Return Spring and Pawl Arm Replacement
guzzijek replied to sp838's topic in Technical Topics
It seems that I needed to use a bit more persuasion. The cover is off and thanks to all who have posted throughout the years about this problem. As soon as the cover was off a big chunk of the return spring fell out. Now to source a new one!- 48 replies

Preemptive Shift Return Spring and Pawl Arm Replacement
guzzijek replied to sp838's topic in Technical Topics
I am in the process of trying to remove the gear cover. My bike got stuck in third gear and I can't get it into neutral, as its stuck in third. I'm down to the gear cover, but it won't budge. I removed the eleven bolts that hold the cover, and I've whacked the cover with a rubber mallet, but no luck. Can this cover be removed if the bike is not in neutral? Also, there are two bolts (I presume are adjusters of some sort) that are attached top the cover as well. Do these come off? And how about the acorn nut one; does this have to be removed to get the cover off? I'm aware off the threads by belfastguzzi but the pictures don't come up on my computer. Thanks in advance for your help.- 48 replies

the two Gords at Valley Moto have given me great service in the past couple of years that I have dealt with them. they originally sold my bike to the first owner I bought it from so they know the history of the machine. the first time I went there Gord in sales and parts stayed at least twenty minutes after closing explaining the intricacies of changing the oil, filter, sump gasket and other routine maintenance items. This shop has most parts in stock for my Ballabio which means no wait time for parts. I highly recommend this shop!

Speaking of low mileage, I bought my 2004 Ballabio in 2012 and it had little under 6000 miles on it. Maybe some people bought them to be more of a collectors item than a regular ride. I've almost doubled the mileage since I've had it and I feel I haven't ridden as much as I would like to or have in the past. I have owned a few bikes before and I have to say the Ballabio is my favourite for long rides.

Hey StormtruckZ, Do you have after market pipes on your Ballabio? If so, which ones and what do you think of them?

Hey Gio, That fairing looks great on your bike. Does it cut down on the wind as well?

Italian bike day, Lonsdale Quay, North Vancouver B.C.
guzzijek replied to Van's topic in Meetings, Clubs & Events
Hey Van, When is this show on? Is this the same one as the Italian car show at the quay? If so, I'll most likely be there this year with my bike. Don't forget about the smaller show at the Italian Cultural Centre. Guzzijek -
[ Here is my 04 Ballabio. I'm the second owner and I got it with under 6000 miles little more than a year ago.
-
Hey Goosed! Congratulations on your buy. I'm fairly new to Guzzi ownership myself, having bought a Ballabio little under a year ago. I read your other thread and I'm curious as to why you passed on the Ballabio?
-
Very interesting information. Thanks. My Ballabio was sold by a Canadian dealer but I believe it is an American bike as the gauges are in miles. (Were all Ballabios for the American market?) Anyway, it appears that the fellow who started this thread has passed on the Ballabio and found another V11, congratulations!

I picked up my 04 Ballabio last year from the original owner. So far its been agreat bike. I'm curious about the comment that these bikes were sold as leftovers at dealerships. Does anyone know if the Ballabio was a good seller at the time?
