Ugly but functional

This bike is gonna be better than new!

I had an FBF x-over for about 7k miles. It developed hairline cracks after the first 1500 miles. Took it to a good welder who immediately could see the issues with the original welds. He welded it up and I added some bracing using exhaust clamps and extension springs bolted to the original support bracket. It held up well for the next 5500 miles. I through an ad up looking for a Stucchi and found one. I didn't have any issues with mounting on mine but I feel like the second hand Ti-Exhaust I mounted might have been configured for a Stucchi type x-over.

I got one from the classifieds over at WildGuzzi. Took a while but they are getting rare.

It's located near the timing sensor. They are pretty flukey...

Have you tried selecting a different model, maybe one that doesn't have the 15RC? That would be my first thought anyway.

When I lived in Chicago I got used to doing the stop light lane split trick. Not sure it's legal but tolerated and it does atleast make filtering through the city a bit more fun.

Didn't know him personally but that is a huge bummer....

She doesn't look as good as some with twice the mileage, but I still enjoy her.

No hate here it just seems like folks should have a proper baseline on tuning. That includes a "decent tune-up" before electing to remap or add a pc3.... That's me though.

Is the tool kit complete? Not the best but in a pinch. Ball headed 5mm Allen wrench is an important one, fuses, relays as mentioned.

Electrical problems= ground strap to regulator and fresh relays, there I fixed it! Isn't there a home brew gusset being made for the transmission issue? http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1797&page=7&do=findComment&comment=218485 Also remember that the later bikes also have the even less reliable (ITI?) gauges. Plus the quick to come apart front crossover that will need to be dealt with. Pick your poison but imo the early red frames are just as easy if not easier to sort than later bikes....

It's good stuff. Stays soft cleans off relatively easy.

I don't believe she's ever shifted so good! Completed the Lucky Phil shift improvement procedure this weekend and have to admit I was a little skeptical about the minor adjustments but very glad I did it. Thanks guys! I bought some very low mileage gauges from eBay this winter and it looks like there might be an issue with my tach as it seems to react a little slow. I'll keep an eye on it hoping it smooths out with some miles....Ha!
