I have used fiberglass joint tape (drywall repair) bedded in your favorite epoxy. Been holding so far.

Question for the classic guzzi knowledgeable here. In my semi serious search for a classic zen cruiser cycle I stumbled across a sweet v1000 G5. Supposedly with lemans mk 1 heads. My questions on this are: First off is a mk 1 head compatible with a v1000? Looks like 85mm bore vs 83? That doesn't add up to my math... Also if it's possible what are the necessary modifications a guy would have to do to make this work? Besides fuel delivery etc. Long shot on buying it but I'm always trying to learn.

The rear wasn't even that bad when I replaced it but I did it anyway. The front has been my issue over the 20k+ miles I've owned the bike. I've always used the best bearings I can get (within reason) made in Japan. I suppose I could make my own shims but I guess I'd rather just buy them....

After ordering my third set of bearings for my front wheel I'm thinking I've got a short spacer. I've been looking for shims for the bearings, no luck... Where does a guy get bearing shims? Particularly the 20/25mm I.d. Type

I've always thought that using a XXL tubing cutter or the chain style might be a good option too.

Ding! Ding! Ding! So far so good. When I replaced the o-ring on the timing sensor I went a little big I guess. I bent up the bracket surrounding the pickup probably causing too big of a gap. She seems to be running good now. Phew! Thanks a bunch guys!

Could it be my timing chain jumped a tooth? I've never replaced the tensioner.

Yes she's back fired many times. Visually the boot from head to TBs are good. I've attached and re-attached the air box a couple dozen times. Making sure to check. I've done the carb cleaner spray while she's running just to be sure she's not leaking. Good points though.

It was running great. I parked her probably November. Pulled the battery had it in my basement most of the winter. I'm not 100% sure it was never exposed to below zero weather this year but I'm pretty sure it hasn't. I will say this though, I bought an odyssey approved automatic charger. It doesn't seem to charge above 12.65. This would be a "before things went to hell" thing too. My old cheap auto charger would get her to 12.85 atleast. Also I WAS charging on pigtails in the bike.... not since my issues but I did a couple times.

I watched a big beautiful spray of fuel come out of the injectors no visible dribble/leak. I've gotta say that the spark although it was there wasn't as consistent as I would've imagined. It was blue and sometimes orange-ish. My battery was dying too. Guess it's on to timing/ECU. Does anybody know if a 15rc is a direct swap with a 15m? I will need to load a map onto the new unit so it's got to be guzzidiag compatible.

Im sorry for my confusion. You're saying if I pull the plug wires and install a plug then ground the plug it's ok to crank?

I did replace the o-ring on the sensor. I had logged into guzzidiag the other day and didn't see any faults. Although it wasn't running.

Won't that kill power to the fuel pump though?
