  1. The Nexx helmets are really well made for the price.
  2. I'd be be happy with ~only~ six weeks....
  3. Primer gray does have a cool light effect.
  4. I like the idea of elongating the hole on the side cover. I'm about 1/4" (6mm) off or better. I guess that's the whole point of my bearing puller after using a "drift" so many times I wanted to treat myself knowing the rears needed replacing. Oh well I guess it's not my day. Could be worse I could have a Japanese bike that needed nothing...
  5. Old girl is fighting me today. Took off the rear wheel for a tire change etc. I've had a set of rear wheel bearings for atleast 4 tire changes but never did em. Finally decided it was time today. No go, I even bought a blind bearing puller. Nothing. Tried my old trick with a drift. Nothing. Onto installing my new to me air box. Goes on no problem, right side cover good. Left side cover fighting me every step of the way, so bad I cracked it.... bummer. Oh well, time to regroup.
  6. I had a no start once with my new omrons too. Popped off the seat and saw a couple relays had wiggled up. The worst part being it was after work and a bunch of us were leaving together. Some of my co-workers are big HD fanboys and not understanding of the guzzi experience. They missed the part when I got her started in short order.... Glad it was something simple.
  7. Not sure about the dielectric thing. On one hand many people much smarter than me are in favor (MartyNZ and most the rest of auto/cycle mechanics of the world). The other hand many people also smarter than me are opposed (KiwiRoy, Chuck, Docc and the majority of v11lemans.com). But clearly this is not Scud's problem. I'm suspicious of the headlight bulb... The starter issue though. Could it be that with the Odyssey being an AGM battery it needs a little "pre-warming" before it gets proper CCA's? Mine does atleast when it's cold. I've never done the proper odyssey charge procedure myself either though.
  8. The ignition switch definitely needs some lubrication. I don't use dielectric grease personally but yes it is non conductive. Otherwise you'd be shorting everything. But exposed metals corrode and lose conductivity too.....
  9. +1 on the ignition switch. Take it apart and hit the contacts with a good contact cleaner. Grease with your favorite electrical grease I.e. Vaseline, dielectric etc. Like Docc said the charging system doesn't sound 100%. Probably separate issue.
  10. Very nice! Looks factory.
  11. Poor guy, living in Italy with various gootsies....

Zero should be fine. The best thing is to do a patented "v11lemans.com tune-up". If you haven't already!
  13. Nice little machine. Is the Scura still with you?
  14. Looks great!
  15. Is this somehow related to your 30a fuse melting issue?
  16. Use a little copper antiseize on joints. I fit everything together off the bike to see how far it will allow. Then I mark the joints at the max depth. It helps to know if it's in too far or how much extra wiggle room you have in or out. Please keep the innuendos to yourselves intelligent and mature lot we are....
  17. That is crazy! Can't see the aluminum work too well but he's more talented than I.

Not sure I've ever seen staintunes. Pics?
  19. Those vibration dampers are a constant battle. I just bought half a dozen from Moto International ($6 or so each).

The "TI ECU" map is available on guzzidiag.
  21. Some lucky sunuvagun's gonna get a sweet bike... if you sell her.
  22. Went through the wiring cleaned up greased and zip tied everything nice and tidy. Changed out 3 year old fuel filter and did a quick n' dirty fuel injector back flush. Fresh spark plug wires. Hooked up my new(used) Veglia clocks. 851 miles and counting! Thanks Ed @ guzzipower! Installed my brand new Stucchi x-over. Thanks dude whose name I forget from Wild Guzzi! Much easier then expected! Read some horror stories about how bad they are to align. Fresh Redline V-twin trans fluid in both gear boxes. Just a couple new doughnuts and front rotors some other minor things and I'm ready for spring.
  23. @Marty, I'm pretty sure I got a good back flush with my clumsy and less elegant sprayer. It was certainly inspired by your design just more hastily concocted. They really looked clean and I didn't notice a difference in spray pattern. @Scud, I know I've purchased one of those pliers but of course when I need to use it goes MIA.... Yeah that's what I ended up doing with my fuel lines. It just makes no sense how that can make a seal... I've got an order with MI already I can see if they can throw those in.
  24. After seeing Scud and Marty's super fuel injector cleaner at work and my bike being torn down for a mini refresh this winter. I decided to have a go at cleaning mine. It's a bit of a pain in the butt getting those snap rings and aluminum holders in place. Other than that, has anyone sourced the seal and o-rings? Not so much the o-rings but the seal around the injector itself might be harder to track down.
