I chickened out replacing my tensioner last time I had the timing cover off. I did get myself a set of plumbers sockets that you could put a crescent wrench on. They would/will fit over the crankshaft.
Sorry that's all I can offer.
Looking to replace my front rotors or discs if you like. I'm also going to replace my pads at the same time.
Current rotors are about a tenth past the stamped min. thickness (3.6mm?). The Chinese rotors are tempting but I have a hard time using them in such a critical area. Used Ducati with good wear left seem plentiful on eBay.
I have EBC metallic pads on currently and am pretty sure I'm going with sintered this time. I didn't really like the metallic pads.
Any recommendations? I'm a pretty hard braker and would hope to find something better than current. But I'm pretty sure I can't afford cast iron eyeball stretchers unfortunately.
Been into gnarly old racing singles lately I.e.: Velocette Thruxtons, Ducati Desmo 450/350 and always the Yammie SRX-6.
Maybe my Guzzi has been running a little too smooth for me.
Jaap, how's the brick working out for ya?
I've got a leaky brake fluid junction box to replace next weekend...eight hard lines into a box the size of a D-cell battery. Fiddly work.
I don't know much about aero planes, but every time I ride the v11 I feel like I'm chasing down the Luftwaffe in a P51.
Yeah I'm still a twelve year old in 34 year old body.
So why were these old dustbin faired bikes covered in (theoretically) zinc chromate?
It's what they had on hand?
Or, are these old dustbin fairings steel? Which raises other questions like, why? That stufffs heavy?
I'm thinking about swapping my valve covers for earlier Lemans IV/V, 1000S or Cal III type. The more square metallic (magnesium?) style.
These should fit my v11 right?
Tool review ok in this thread?... if not start a new.
Question is: What's a decent air compressor? Not looking to operate impact guns or anything. On a bit of a budget. Old and crusty or new and shiny?
Does the oil light come on at all? The oil light is just a micro switch activated by pressure. When you shut your bike down there might be pressure in the circuit yet. They are kind of flukey though and it might just be shot, but they're cheap too.
She sounds good to me.
