  1. This started this summer. I'll turn the key to start and sometimes the fuel pump won't prime. Try again and she'll go. Sometimes the main headlight beam won't come on until she's running but the smaller "park" light or whatever is on. Going down the road every once in a while it'll act like its out of fuel. I assume the pump lost power. I'll also lose the function of the tach and main headlight. Dash is still lit and she does come back to life before I'm even able to come to a stop. I've got all good (GEI?) relays that I've tried swapping a few times. I had a spare kickstand switch and I put that on. Checked wiring to the ecu including the ground. Any ideas? The only other thing to do is clean up the ignition switch, which I did about a year ago. Thanks for any help!
  2. Good info on the clutch btw.
  3. I don't see an issue with it. I've never heard of different rotor/stator combos on the v11. Either way not too bad of a job to swap if it doesn't work.

    Bluest skies

Gianelli cans on the greenie? Quat-d on the le-Mans? Good taste.

    V7 tuning

Have you tried posting on Wildguzzi? I know there is a ton of info on v7s over there.
  6. Much better than the first one!
  7. Oh no, that can't go on your V11 for a few reasons...
  8. I see shyndy and bitubo...
  9. I knew I was close to needing a new rear tire, but was antsy to install the shortened Ti-mufflers I bought from Scud. Hooked em up, went for a ride loved the sound, got em balanced. She's running great after a tune-up. Just got the in-laws kicked out and had some time to go for a ride... How's that rear tire looking?... Wow, cords showing. Guess that rides not happening... First time I think I've ever worn a tire that low before. Oh well, new tires are awesome!
  10. Yea the hose clamp will be against some copper oil line. These bikes will reward your patience.
  11. I've never used the manhole cover. If it's filter change time I just drop the oil pan. Sorry no help here.
  12. Ken, that new headlight looks pretty sweet!
  13. I was expecting this to take place in a few months. Impressed I am.
  14. Never had that problem with the rear brake myself. But I don't encounter 1800 foot drops on a single lane track very often either! Thanks Rox/Scud for the info.
  15. I might have an extra resistor cap. I'll look tomorrow.
  16. An aftermarket windage tray. Designed to help our primitive engines deal with folks with heavy duty wrists. The oil pickup will starve being near the front of the engine with even a moderately low oil level, on some bikes. Probably a better explanation if you do a search on the forum.
  17. No trick to checking the oil. I check it on the bike roughly vertical or with a board under the kickstand threaded mostly all the way. No worries about the balancing nipples, plugged or connected either way is fine. Why worry about changing the return spring? If it's not broke don't fix it. If my memory serves me it was only the 02 and on that some had the incorrect boss on them. Either way if you do decide to get proactive about it measure the boss that the spring goes on some were too big. The brake pedal is just a little bolt going through, you could easily find a longer bolt and add some spacers. I know some aftermarket regs would allow the charging to get low at idle, not sure though. You can alway check the voltage with a meter though. Now what's up with that RC30? Yours? Can I have it?....
  18. After almost 1k miles I've gotten a bit more intimate with my upgraded suspension. It's a little hard to give a direct comparison to clapped out stock suspension and my completely reworked setup considering my bike sat for the winter last time I rode it. Anyway here's my honest evaluation. Forks were reworked by Todd @ Guzzitech. They had roughly 40k miles on them with stock components only changing the fork oil once as far as I could tell. Seemingly minimal damping and a very vague feel, they sucked quite honestly. Probably worse due to mileage but either way. Reworked forks set at 8mm above triples have much more feel, more compliant and much better damping R and C. Here in the Midwest most our roads are pretty bad I can hold a line much better at a brisk pace even through a relatively rough road. That's the biggest improvement. Big bumps are the limitations of these forks not much improvement there but I'm sure a cushier setup would improve that. I'd rather lean towards sportier anyway. My shock was also stock (Sachs) and as far as I can tell never rebuilt. Despite light greasing on both bushing ends she squeaked over every bump. Then there was the pogoing, not conducive to brisk riding. It wasn't 1980 Cb750 bad but not confidence inspiring either. So I had Klaus @ EPM performance send me a new (basic) Hyperpro shock. He talked me into a progressive spring as well. The biggest difference with the new shock is the rebound damping hands down! I honestly haven't even checked rider sag on it yet but am very happy. She soaks up big bumps better than the forks I believe but probably handles smaller bumps/potholes maybe slightly less well then my forks. If that makes sense....? I have yet to lose traction on my rear wheel under heavy throttle hand (gravel/sandy conditions omitted). I can't say that at all with my old shock. After riding my bike with the new components I'm definitely happy. The only thing I might try different would be to just buy fork springs first before going all out with the Guzzitech treatment.
  19. I think my longest day was just north of 600 miles. That was when I had a fairing. North of Atlanta to St Pete FL. Mostly super slab.
  20. Come on GM lets see some pics of this purposeful beast!...
  21. Mines been louder on the right for 20k+ miles, seems fine.
  22. Check the wires going to the stator, they are very weak. Otherwise you can have your battery load tested (most US parts stores will do it) or just do a fully charged, key on and bike running test with your voltmeter hooked up to the battery. Then try testing the regulator. The voltage readings should tell you/us what's happening a little better.
  23. Btw, Scud noticeable gains with the x-over? I felt like there was less transition going "on cam" aka 4K torque dip. Maybe a little quicker revving up past 6k...maybe.
  24. Amazing how a bike so similar (mechanically) could be sooo different.
