One thing I had to do to get my FBF x-over slid all the way on was to take the headers off completely and twist them on to the x-over. Takes a while but it's the only way I could get them on. Also coppers anti seize helps a bunch.

Yeah it cracked at the weld... Also across the center horizontally... Top and bottom. The horizontal crack might be from a little too much elbow grease though. I think the best thing is to make some sort of a support. Which I plan on coming up with something. Pics coming soon.

I finally got my first ride in of the year! Just 100 miles, but man was I happy to be back on the old girl! This winter I've done a lot but it all came to a crescendo yesterday. The list includes: new upper sump ring and side stand bracket (no more chunk of wood to stop my bike from leaning 45degrees). Reworked forks courtesy of Todd @ Guzzitech. New Hyoerpro shock courtesy of Klaus @ EMP performance. New home brew Integrated rear light/license plate bracket. Not quite done but close enough. Front turn signals and mirrors to replace the cheap integrated ones I had before. I found a seemingly inevitable crack in my FBF x-over. So that's off to the welder and the stocker is back on. Yeah so I got a lot done yesterday. But I've still got a little more to do. But she's rideable, life is good....

Is this a typical problem with the Stucchi x-over? I ask because I've been trying to track one down.

If there is actually oil coming from there I wouldn't be worried about the plug. There shouldn't be any oil on the flywheel. Take a look at your crankcase vent hose. Or just use a cork for a plug...

Just got my forks back from Todd @ Guzzitech. Measured my sag, it's at 30mm with 8mm of fork through the top of the clip-ons. Haven't ridden them yet as I'm waiting for some boring but necessary parts. Looks like my rear shock will be here next Wednesday from Hyperpro. I can't wait.

I just pulled these couplers/nipples from my bike. The zinc chromate coating is definitely failing on mine too. Is this a worry?.... What other parts have this coating that are in contact with oil?

No JRD it hasn't. I thought that was an upgrade?.... If I have to replace it I guess I will. Anything with a cork will do. I believe it's from a bottle of Chianti (the only thing Italian my wife drinks). Any recommendations?

I've been playing with lining up my rear cowl too. I added some thick washers under the front bolts by the gas tank. Not sure if it helped much if any but my bikes a 10 footer anyway.

Adding the front signals made it work.....

I'm gonna try adding the fronts, I could've sworn I had just the back (incandescent) signals hooked up before and it worked. Definitely only a two prong electric relay though....

Yeah, it doesn't look like some heat and PB blaster is gonna bust it loose... Wish I could help.

@Scud, haven't tried that yet. Seeing as how I've got an electric flasher/relay I don't see it making a difference. Could be wrong though. I'll try it this week. @Ken, I did get an electric flasher to no avail. I got an inexpensive Chinese taillight. Would've liked to get something better but there wasn't much for the style I wanted.

I installed an integrated LED tail light this weekend. I have no front signals hooked up for the time being. I can't get this thing to flash when signaling. I replaced the stock flash relay with an electric two prong, supposedly for LEDs..... The relay should be normally open? Because it is. Any insight?
