The Chase Harper mounts like Docc's bag basically around the spine. If I ever take off the bag it's just a matter of threading a couple straps through. I will snap a pic when I get done with work.
-
I've got the 800 Sport Trek, the straps are definitely not permanent. Like I said not the sexiest option even with the straps cinched down the bag does move a little (not at speed and my bike is naked). I have carried home many groceries even drawing a crowd while people take bets if I can fit it all in my Marry Poppins-esque bag. Frozen Pizza, check. Six pack of bottles check. Cereal and milk and eggs and english muffins, check. At the petrol station just unhook the back clip and slide it forward, bam! you're back on the road. Needless to say I like mine. Yeah at that price I will pass on the black masking tape.

My saddlebags rub off the clear on my paint if I don't use masking tape.....not sure if they make black masking tape though . I'm on my second Chase Harper tank-bag, not the prettiest but I live out of mine and they give you a lifetime warranty. The folks at Chase Harper are awesome! they always take care of me and the bags are handmade in Cali. I believe...? My tank is also scratch free after two years and 14k miles.

Which one did you fit to your Cali? Gears?

Something tells me I would get a long with you guys on this board. @Kostarika, J-Dilla was an underrated genius, last time I saw Thievery corp. was in Chicago under some pretty intense er...influence. Alot of fun that night! Couple other good picks in there too. @Jaap The 90's are alive and strong with this one as well, just recently bought Nirvana's Bleach on vinyl... Had too! @Docc Been hearing a lot of Mark Knopfler down here in FL, will investigate further. This Gems been in my head for a couple days https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KG8WhjH6KmU David Byrne released some Afro psychedelic stuff a few years ago the album is awesome! In that key... kinda that video is pretty awesome that somebody put to together for the song

Haha, I saw that... I bet Gandolf would ride a Guzzi. Probably a Stelvio though.... I e-mailed the vendor so we'll see.

eBay has these http://www.ebay.com/itm/CNC-WRAP-ROUND-HEAD-GUARDS-FOR-SQUARE-HEAD-MOTO-GUZZIS-WITH-CUT-OUTS-/290962700350?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item43beba783e http://www.ebay.com/itm/SQUARE-HEAD-GUARDS-WITH-CUT-OUTS-TO-FIT-MOTO-GUZZI-/231148142286?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item35d180bece I hear ya Docc tryin to get her buttoned up!

I heard a lot of high praise for Joe Kenny. Also Guzzipower look alright too, but I like the more lighter looking guards.
-
I've found some cool head guards for "square barrel" Guzzis. I don't see V11s listed but, is there a difference between the LM3s Milles etc. and a V11? Can't find a definite answer.

Definitely found mine loose on occasion

Alrighty according to MG cycle the black ones Mr. Fugazzi has listed second should work. Ordering some up now.
-
MK VI LeMans?
-
I am hoping to do something similar.... Probably won't end up as classy though. Good work, thanks for the great write up!
-
I'll give MG a call tomorrow. Thanks Ken

Has anybody ever sourced the resistor covers at the end of the spark plug wire (plug end)? Looked on NGK's website and didn't see one with the exact dimensions 58mmx49mm.

Damn! what a beauty. One of the best looking bikes ever made. What's the story? Mileage? By my untrained eye looks mostly stock. Did you get the fairing? Bet you can't wait to get out on some of those sconnie roads this summer!
-
From the factory they are "star" bits. Make extra sure you have the choke cam out of play as well not just the cable. Also could be some gunk in the way of the butterflies in the throttle bodies, give em a spray with some carb cleaner.

Like the title says I need a timing cover and an upper sump flange for my beat up old V11 Lemans. She leans real hard on her side-stand after our little "off". Only you can help us out of this horrid predicament! I tried the usual suspects and they would only take my first born as payment, unfortunately mom wouldn't go for it. Now I call upon my friends of Mandello!

Finally got to record some voltage, before a well due and...nearly drama un-free ride. Before I tried to put a little life into her she was sitting at 12.33v after... 5 days of no riding, I'm ashamed. After key on w/ high beam 11.85 after roughly 3 min. 11.80... not bad? Cranking. My dam clips fell off of my ground and had me worried for a second but last I saw we were at 10.5v around the time she rumbled to life. Honestly, I am not too worried about the charging values as I stay on top of those. Usually around 13 at idle up to 14.2 or so at "hang on mama!"

sp838, what were the before/after dyno results?....
-
Dangerous, hope your doin alright buddy. Wasn't sure about your sincerity when I saw listed "had a stroke" among other normal life happenings. You Kiwi's sure are a tough lot!...

I just happened to have picked up some Mobil 1 yesterday. There were two bottles of the "old" Mobil 1 (darker bottle) it clearly says "SG" rated. Where as the newer bottles say "suitable for SG rated applications". Thats what I get for helping to clear up some old stock.
-
For your list of road side repair kit you should add lime, tomato, garlic and tortillas.
-
The only thing about Mobil 1 is that it is available anywhere. Maxima, not so much. Yeah that ugly cruiser is an eyesore but I figure that our bikes are similar to those Harleys.

I had a similar issue mine was leaking where the line went into the slave. A quick torque-down and i've been good since.
