  1. Yea Docc, the lack of mirrors does clean it up a lot.
  2. So many things work on that bike, white wheels, purplish valve covers even the chrome bullet signals look right. I don't even like chrome.
  3. Any qualms about mobil 1 20 50? Been using it since I bought my v11
  4. I believe they are interchangable, but I thought I read somewhere the 00-01 fit better. Somebody might know better than me though.
  5. Not sure how much they go for in the UK, I would look for other rare-ish V11s, i.e. V11 Cafe, 02 Scuras maybe Rosso's and Nero Corsas. Then add a thousand or three....?
  6. if it is a Scura "R" it is nearly worthless and should be sent immediately to me (in the states) I'll split the delivery with you, just because I'm a nice guy!.... Seriously though, that is probably the rarest of the V11 spine frame Guzzi's. I don't think I've ever seen one for sale in the U.S. even. If you want to sell it I would ask top dollar. Or like I said I would split shipping with you to the states....

    Brand-new Scura

Timeless, raw, strange, just like our v11's. As I read once, last of the hairy chested Guzzis! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qannFs974gg
  8. Okay, yeah my commute is only like 12 mi. but when I go for a longer ride I get the same voltage. I will take those measurements and report back. Thanks dude!
  9. I was actually a little confused on this process maybe you can help me here Docc.... My Ody. has always been "undercharged" (12.38-12.43v) so I throw it on a charger. Bring it up to 12.9v overnight off the charger it holds at around 12.78. I ride almost everyday, within a day or two it's right back down to 12.38-12.43 after riding it. My confusion lies around the fact that if charging takes place at 14.2 and up and my new-ish regulator only allows up to 14.2v. Wouldn't I be somewhat draining the battery every time I start it? I wouldn't have ever given it a thought but every once in a while my bike will just barely start, like clicking, lights get real dim, about to pray to the gods of Mandello barely starts.

Nice work, glad to hear you are getting along so well with the V11.
  11. Very cool!
  12. How do those pipes sound with the snarling 4v?...

We better get a link to a high pixel large format photo spread when she is back together. Love what youre doing BTW!
  17. With the older 4v you have a belt driven cam(s) so not at all as simple as dropping on a new head. Probably easier to swap engines as Guy stated. Easier being relative I'm sure.
  18. Most guys here (me included) will tell you that without the PC your bike should run damn well. Not perfect but pretty sweet no hiccup at 3k. Best thing is to go through the TPS/Throttle Body setup located in the "How-To" sub-forum. Start with the valve adjustment take your time and don't think the first time will be perfect. My bike never had a "hiccup" after a good tuning. Enjoy.
  19. Any MC shop knows that the side which the valve stem is closest to the spoke should be forward. If that makes sense.
  20. 2002 models I looked up were all still 9.5:1 Sorry guess it was 03' on...
  21. I believe the 02 on (long frames) had a slight increase in compression, 9.8:1...?
  22. I really like my "Nexx" helmet, made across the border from you in Portigal. Close to a Shoei fit though.
  23. Access to V11lemans.com!...
  24. Cheap multimeter is good to carry around. Atleast a 30a fuse.
  25. Just discovered two awesome things this week (Guzzi related) in one blog! First off I had no idea the things Millepetcento was doing/have done. Including a two valve single throttle body 100+hp Griso! We will forgive the use of air-cooled water to supplement this fine machine. Also it is a pretty good blog.... The words don't seem to jive in the same sentence but check out his trip through the US. Anyway passing along some interesting reading. http://www.odd-bike.com/?m=1
