  1. I will put it on my calendar. But you guys have to ask my wife for permission!
  2. Think i paid $200 for the year.... Basic liability.
  3. You can definitely change ignition timing in guzzidiag.... That's the extent of my knowledge.
  4. How are the vibes w/ the bar ends? Always thought the stock bar-end weight design seemed to work well.
  5. Can't say there are too many "where the fun starts" signs down here in Florida, but considering it's Jan. and about 75f outside I can't complain....
  6. Is that a shiny bolt I see?..... Sorry couldn't resist.

My vote... Give your wrenches a break. As your mechanic said, just ride it! You won't hurt anything by having old fork oil. Replace it in 10k or so and in the meantime flog her.
  8. I see the image....
  9. Also I would take that shaft off and lube those splines. I would hate to discover Luigi forgot 12 years ago.
  10. Haha, let's get Bob to the family reunion here. The "needle zerk" as i called it, is just that, a zerk with a needle on it. Didn't want somebody to confuse it with a screw on type needle fitting. I picked mine up at Fastenal I believe or Ace. Even using this method Bob will not marry your mother's sister without a few big words being said. It still sucks but is the best way I've found.
  11. The way I grease the front zerk is to take a needle zerk push into the the intended spot without being attached to your grease gun. Then when the needle is in position hook up your grease gun and Bob's your uncle! Roy's system is probably a better way but if you haven't had the wheel off for a while (or don't want to take off your wheel) my way is a quick fix.
  12. they show up for me too...
  13. You do need to have those lines open. One opens to the atmos. to fill the tank back with air as it empties. The other line drains vapor and/or overfill gas. Both important, I just "T'ed" them together into one line for simplicity. You can use any adhesive that will take the heat. I think someone recommends "shoe-goo"...? Not sure, check out Docc's tank off checklist while you are there.
  14. That's interesting, just got another Odyssey under warranty. I've been having trouble starting and checked my voltage.... 12.08v at the battery. Seems to get a pretty good charge (14.2+) at 3k rpms. So you 're saying that if I didn't condition my battery it won't charge past a certain level?
  15. Sorry I'm late to reply. I got my cord from protector-2012 off ebay for $15. Still works, not sure if they still have them but might be worth a look.

As beautiful as they are (yours is pretty sweet looking too), the riding is always my favorite part!
  17. Glad I'm not the only one! Try being 20 miles away when it was for sale....
  18. best one I saw today while quickly browsing CL http://baltimore.craigslist.org/mcy/4765965677.html

Love those mirrors. I have a hard time ditching the factory bar end weights, seems to be a well designed system. How are the vibes without them? Also if you want to hide the mirror mount hole you can flip that piece upside down. She's looking great!
  21. Mysterious things these Odyssey batteries. Stator and bullet connectors are in tip-top shape, per the wisdom of this board. Besides when I was having my serious grounding issues my 30a fuse has never had a problem with melting. It was also the first thing I checked when bike wouldn't start, now after getting it back on the road it melted pretty good... Time to pull off the fuse box i guess.
  22. Lots of good info there Foto, although like a good oil thread I am as confused as ever. I think this tender gets binned and I will continue to monitor this battery.
  23. Fresh car battery is at 12.52v.@pdoz Lord knows that after my melting wiring harness my ground stays clean. Also my starter connection is clean @ K-roy I tried to look up what it is about certain chargers the odysseys dont like. I will try and return again.... But she did start and is seemingly charging.
  24. Recently after returning back to town and greeting my v11 with open arms I thumbed the starter it cranked a little and started clicking.... Hooked up a fresh car battery to my battery and gave me the same thing, no start (read 11.2v at my battery). Put it on my 1.5a maintainer overnight and I read 11.17v. Now a quick little back story, I had a crash a couple months ago and the bike sat for a week before I tried to start it and I was good a few days later all my necessary parts installed to get me back on the road... no start. On with the maintainer overnight same thing, brought my battery back to the dealer (odyssey pc 545) and got my current battery on warranty. So basically the same thing happened to me twice with a supposedly good quality battery. Is my maintainer giving me problems or is it my bike? Or is it bad luck with Odyssey? I did just fairly recently replace my regulator with a drop-in ESR but I had no problems for a couple of months or so and had good voltage when running.
  25. Sort of... A voltmeter is still probably more accurate though.
