Do you know the Guzzi girls ?
czakky replied to Pi31478's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
I would like to know them.... -
Moto fugazzi had sent me his stock map and after comparing it with mine I see no glaring issues.... Hmmm very interesting, maybe there is an issue with the ECU after plugging into it?
-
Any body have a map I can use to compare?.....
-
Yea Haydn I am going off the original, but it's starting extremely hard won't idle then it will struggle hard through the rev range. I think I only changed a couple values in the ignition map but maybe the wife's cat decided to walk on the keyboard. Basically I just need a map to compare to mine so I can see what I/Ozzy did to mess it up.

Very informative, thank you. I'm thinking in lieu of my issue, i must have bunged up my cold start map somehow. Once warm its running pretty good.

Would having a PF4C TPS have an effect? The program does say PF3C, but i had the 4 on when i downloaded the original map...

In my constant tinkering I believe I might've done something wrong...... Again. I've got myself the guzzidiag software and have been making minor adjustments here and there, mostly CO stuff. But after a whole lot of research I finally decided to "play" with the ignition map. All I did was change a couple of values a degree or so, all of them past 3500 RPM or higher. So now I used the "writer" program to upload my slightly changed map and now the bike doesn't even idle. I used a bin file to upload. Received an XDF file from the guzzidiag team. Any help is appreciated bike was running real good until now.

Awesome story raceboy!... Welcome too.

1. There is one. Mine does show "Cold Start B" set to 30495 revolutions, while the other is 40000.

Paul, Meinolf. Thanks guys! Clears up those minor confusions.

Guess I ordered the esr515. A horse a piece the way I see it. Charging is higher at idle (than a fuctioning stocker) around 13.4v but lower at revs, around 14.3. I'm happy thus far, hope I'm good for another 35k miles. Bonus, my battery light now lights on start up!

Some years ducati monsters, i think it might be all air cooled and before 696 etc. should fit

Custom spring rate?

Schwinn single speed coaster brakes.

i've never seen such nice looking black lafranconi mufflers. My right is almost back to aluminum while my left is half purple.

Camn I'm pretty sure I've put that o-ring every which way but around the cable. I've tried Guzzi's one from the hydraulic fitting shop even one from good old Ace Hardware. Some were better than others none have been leakproof. Now I have no o-ring and a thin smear of Hylomar on every surface. The leak is annoying but, the ignition issues are really bugging me (been dealing with seemingly progressive pinging) my main concern is getting the "gap" right. How do you know if you have the RC ECU? Doubt I do...

I saw someone else here had posted their V11 had two spacers also... Can't remember who since some posts got deleted. Anyway I've been having some slight to not so slight running problems mainly pinging. I really feel that my fueling is pretty close and am wondering if having (previously) an o-ring between the spacers might have been my culprit....? It's gone now so as soon as my reg. appears I'll answer my own question.

Haha Docc! Browsing through old threads about the subject kinda cleared up some of the confusion mostly thanks to Kiwi_Roy's electrical know how. But still mostly in the dark on how some lose voltage and some (like mine) gain...? Also Roy, I did read your post this morning about the ESR510, Thanks Buddy! Hopefully this might clear up the non-problem of my absent gen. light on start-up.

ESR it is.

+1 on the Pirelli Angels, I've heard a lot of good about the Mich. PR4s too.

While I'm messing with my regulator I decide for the at least 6th time that I'm going to stop this timing sensor from leaking. Don't ask me how I never noticed this. One measured .85mm the other deformed one measured 1.22mm. Guzziology is very unclear what the gap should be, because Guzzi is also unclear. Anyone else have two spacers on there timing sensor??

Seems like guys had issues with Rick's and the Electrosport (sic?)....Any recommendations?

The majority of folks seem to prefer the 03-on v11's. There is a breakdown of model years in the forum here somewhere written by someone much more knowledgeable than me. But there are good and bad things about pre-03' and post-03'. Pretty sure I have never heard anything about bad valves some have had valve seal issues some not.

The other night riding home from work(rarely do I ride at night) I noticed my dash lights are all super bright. When I get home I touched the regulator noticed it was warm but not too hot, a couple days go by and while I'm strapping on my lid while the bike is idling cold I reach down and check the reg. It's way too hot for a bike that just started. Again a few more days go by and me not being the type who jumps right into something, I put my multimeter on the battery terminals and see at idle i'm getting 13.03 volts but at 4k rpm it jumps to over 17v! I am about to check into the easy stuff first but my fuses are all good. I do have the extra ground strap on my reg. and all my connections are full of vaseline and wrapped in tape. Initial reactions? Is my OEM Ducati part dead?
