  1. Sure looks similar. That would be good news for us.
  2. Those are so cool!
  3. Ok sounds like they read accurately at the x-over. Safety is a concern for sure. My plan would be to only temporarily mount it, once I’m happy I would remove it.
  4. I keep toying with buying a cheap-ish AFR Gauge, but the one thing that keeps holding me back is the sensor mounting. According to the “Innovate” website (manufacturer of said system) sensors must be mounted 24”(61cm) from exhaust port and NOT at a crossover. For me the easiest mounting location would be at the exhaust x-over. Is this just to avoid mounting near catalytic converters? Anybody have any experience with these? Here’s a link to the model I’m interested in. https://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/mtxl_plus.php
  5. Was Dave an owner up there?
  6. Moto Intl. is closing. I’ve never been there, but I’ve ordered a good amount of parts from them as well as a copy of “Guzziology”. Bummer for the Guzzi community....
  7. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. This is all so interesting to me. 50 years of racing experience! Wow!
  8. Take lots of photos, ride safe, have fun and all that. Also have a beer or three for me.
  9. I always think of when I lived in Chicago thinking it was such a big city. I worked with a guy from New Delhi who basically referred to Chicago as a quaint town in comparison... That is awesome! So jealous. Thanks for sharing.
  10. Depends on the machine. I say 50hp is more than enough for me on the streets. I’m rarely (never) throttle pinned on a tight turn on the Guzzi. Yet it’s mostly unpractical nature makes me want more. A more practical machine like a FJR or something could do with better mpg. All in all motorcycles are not practical therefore, POWER!
  11. Ducati gloves and helmet? I hope it’s not a test rider...
  12. Anybody got $6200 I can borrow?.... This is a great example! Even touch up paint!
  13. What about the other guy from Tennessee? Andy he might have Docc beat?
  14. Looks like a good match in photos, what color did you use?
  15. One of my touchstones for quality CF docc is the mounts. Do they have alluminium inserts at the mount points? Generally speaking the quality stuff makes the extra effort to have the inserts to prevent overtightening of the mount screws and cracking the CF. These dont but it doesnt disqualify them altogether as it is an almost purely decorative cover for the most part. You just need to be very carefull when mounting and use loctite on the screws without much torque. The cost isnt outrageous. Ciao I thought it was just covered to look like carbon fiber?
  16. If the 1200 had enough character for you they are probably easier to live with. The V11 series does take a bit of sorting in most cases. They come from a time in Guzzi’s history that is infamous for q.c. issues. If you can live with these things and don’t mind getting your hands dirty you’ll be rewarded with a bike that probably has more character and most certainly has a better online community! That being said most issues you can easily sort early on and after that you’ll have a stone axe reliable machine.
  17. Dang buddy, glad you’re ok.
  18. Nice work
  19. Looks nice
  20. NorcCal and SoCal life is good! Thanks for taking us along.
  21. That’s a true Guzzisti. There’s a Vincent barely peeking by the Guzzi.
  22. To 100% verify that the map is unfettered wouldn’t you need to check values anyway? Like on TunerPro. Don’t be scared buddy. Even a shaved ape like me can handle it. You still got my number? I’m pretty sure I can walk you through it.
  23. That’s fine as long you never have to look at it.... Ha!
  24. I don’t know if Guzzidiag knows or cares what map. I think if you upload from the reader app you will get a zip file that might show the map. But at that point you might as well upload to tunerpro and view the parameters against another map. What ya got against TunerPro?...
  25. Ive had several. Timing cover gasket, front crank seal, timing sensor (a few times), crank vent tube, rear drive seal (fingers crossed the big outside one will hold) and the one I haven’t got yet is the rear transmission not a gasket housing. None marked territory... I don’t count the valve covers either.
