I managed to cut a small cross on the remaining head of the tiny screw.
 
Fitted it and it seems to be holding. Time will tell with the vibration etc.

I have been trying it solely with the Optimizer bluetooth which is baffling me.
 
I can get a notebook and a usb to serial connection, and possibly try tomorrow.
