  1. You remind me of an aircraft mechanic.
  2. wait until the timing chain is stretched............maybe 5 videos get there.
  3. Elon questions the LA Fireman at 6:50 here. I don't quite think his STEM background is stellar. Anyway, the fireman explain about stuff like the Water Works. Frankly, I'd though Elon if played any game, it would've been Monopoly.
  4. I would guess if there is a sufficient customers base, that the profit motive would get someone to back charging stations in rural areas. Why not the electric utility? And considering that rural people could charge at home and be 40 miles to the nearest gas station, perhaps those rural folks might even want an EV? So far as subsidies, there's $7b in the infrastructure budget for the next three years for charging stations- provided the new admin doesn't sequester it. So far as charging stations. Tesla has started them and promised to open them up with adapters for other cars, then promptly fired the entire charging team. Perhaps trying to ration what was originally going full on? Perhaps Tesla Charging Systems should be spun off from Tesla Car Maker? Elon can own one or the other.
  5. I'm on the 2nd go around with my Greenie's gearbox.
  6. Keep the silly car .. Adrian OTOH, wow
  7. The solid state battery is suppose to have a weight to energy mass of a gasoline. About 3 times better than current EVs. Ford was supposed have them on the market by '25 or '26 (not heard anything). China is supposed to have them now. The Ford CEO drives a Xiaomi SU7. This thing is $30k and drives (and looks) like a Taycan. He loves it.
  8. They're still unloading a lot of Teslas, I wouldn't think they would sell them less than market value but the number they're selling certainly would impact the market.
  9. Uhhm. None of that is on the market yet, so far as I know. Lots of hype about it.
  10. By the time the Nova (Chevy II) was done, I think all the GM divisions except Caddy had a version. The last one was a kinda "Euro" version for the gas crisis with the stovebolt 6, hatchback and 4 speed manual overdrive. The bad boy was the '69 SS with "396" (402 CI) L-78 solid lifter 375 hp (also rated at 425 or 450 hp in '65 Corvette). My dad had a '70 Chevy II 4 door company car. That was the tightest, stiffest bodied car I'd ever sat in despite the rubber carpets. I think there were more "pro street" Novas on the road than Camaros or Mustangs. I remember a disappointed Road Runner guy getting beat by a new SS 350 on a marked off portion of May Ave. The MOPAR fans were disappointed.
  11. where are all those solid state batteries and those tab-less Tesla batteries?
  12. Hertz is part of the problem. Tesla too for botching the support. Lots of cheap Model 3 on the market. Bad marketing for both of them which otherwise should've been a lay up. So many business "geniuses" out there. What's happened since won't even be mentioned.
  13. Two door hardtop Nova? With better styling
  14. BTW, my Corvette had been in the shop since 1 Oct and the Greenie has been since March. The bearing should be received for the Greenie, simple suspension parts for my Corvette are just about impossible to find unless you call any Corvette supplier in the USA, then they're plentiful and much cheaper than any Guzzi parts........
  15. I said most for a reason. We were yacking about an obvious exception.
  16. None of us are quite right. There's no normal person and we all have likes and dislikes, obsessions and peccadillos. We all suffer from pressures and stresses. I suppose most of us see a problem when the corrupt harm innocents and obstruct the quest for truth.
  17. I live in OKC, haven't been to the Banjo Museum, several times too Woody's and Bob's up in T-town.
  18. I think the guy is addled. Not just high on his own supply but perhaps too much ketamine as well. So far as free speech, without fact checks, the only things censored are facts themselves. I think it's a miss when Nazis are "in" and NPR is "out". Writing about Nazis, an interesting story about his obsession with Mars. Werner von Braun wrote a Sci Fi novel in the early '50's about colonization of Mars (wiki): After establishing verbal communication, the humans learn about the Martians' social structure and their form of government, which is run by ten men under the leadership of "the Elon". I kid you not. This is the richest and most powerful man in the world (and the smartest too). Well, good luck with that.
  19. In other news, my Corvette is in it's 3rd repair shop to fix the right rear corner. Hopefully insurance and the body shop will agree to fix it. They tell me it's a 4 week backlog to get started.
  20. Well, for a Rocket Scientist, and a STEM genius, I have to wonder why he has trouble recognizing that water pressure would be an issue during the massive LA fires and that the Water Works isn't the same as water in reservoirs? Of course it takes tax dollars to build public infrastructure. Like most billionaires, I'm sure he's more than willing to pay his fair share of taxes to maintain our "industry" and prosperity. @Chuck I've seen some of those Tesla bumper stickers that you're hinting.
  21. The Golden Driller. Tulsa Icon. They thought they might score that big Tesla plant Musk later built east of Austin. I think Musk was just messing with them since saying Tesla is sorta like saying Tulsa. Anyway, T-town went all out for it.
  22. I'm remined of the guy with the new John Deere that can't work on his $500k $800k combine and moon rocket.
  23. Yep, it's harder and harder to find someone to work on legacy bikes. There's parts support, personnel, expertise, and tech data issues. But guess what. It's going to get much harder to get independent support for new bikes too. All this computer support it about to get too expensive, even online repair manuals, given all the makes and models and separate subscriptions.
  24. Not good if you want your crop in. When wheat harvest comes around it used to be an 18 hr day. Anymore, the folks I know with land, contract the farming out. No point owning all the equipment and using it a week a year, unless you want to be a contractor.
