I am actually involved in this. It goes back a couple of years when myself and another fellow on Wild Guzzi had TPS failures. Mine on the EV and I can't remember his Guzzi. I got a Harley TPS and the other fellow got that one from Cal Cycleworks. Neither worked. I believe they were both defective. Afterwards, I went to a mechanic that specialized in Ducatis and he got another one from Cal Cycle. It worked for about 3 months and failed. He got me a replacement. Cal Cycles checked the replacement before they sent it. It seems to be working OK for a year now, I still get a hick-up at about 3500 rpm depending on the load (light). I've covered it by enriching the trim tab on the computer. Anyway, my mechanic Don was the guy that got Cal Cycleworks to more or less give them confidence to say they will work on the Guzzi California. I think they are still gun shy about other applications. Personally, I think these TPS are all made in China and are probably not high quality (I don't care if it says Magnetti, Harley or Cal Cycles). That's the why of the story. I think the Cal Cycleworks piece will work on a V11 Sport/Lemans if it isn't defective. This is the same OEM part number that matches Guzzis and Ducati Monsters. The Harley part is actually a different OEM part number.

boy, was that a mistake.

Thanks for posting. I crossed posted this on Wild Guzzi. Personally I'd like to see a Guzzi LeMans sportsbike based on the RSV4. More displacement, milder tune in Sports Touring package. They could split the racing between Aprilia and Guzzi depending on the series.

I've been using Radio Shack Electrical Contact Cleaner and Lubricant. I've never had a need for the stuff until obtained a Guzzi. Does anyone know if this stuff is any good?

I saw the Dead & Co at Boulder Colorado in early July. This incarnation of the band has John Mayer on lead. He has seamlessly blended with the band. I read they've rehearsed 60 dead songs and given the show I saw they only repeated a couple of songs from the previous three shows. Anyway, you can purchase downloads for the entire tour. I was able to get it and the quality is exceptional as well as the performance. http://www.livedownloads.com/live-music/0,14540/Dead-and-Company-mp3-flac-download-7-2-2016-Folsom-Field-Boulder-CO.html

Wow, man, thanks! A week or so ago I spent the afternoon fettling a Rosso Corsa. I used so much of the collective knowledge from here, the outcome was excellent. I would certainly not have a 100,000 mile Sport without this forum and the great contributors. you the man

Kudos to this board to keep these bikes viable and on the road. Docc, Mr Moderator, Chuck, Kiwi Roy, aftermarket guys and everyone that got this Guzzi from 90% to 110%. You guys deserve a lot of credit.

Geeziz. A Coppa is going on ebay at $11k now and not finished. The Greenie is perhaps even prettier.

Twelfth South'n Spine Raid 2016
LowRyter replied to Blueboarhound's topic in Meetings, Clubs & Events
don't go there and miss the Dragon. You won't enjoy it with all the weekend traffic. From Deal's Gap some like to take 28 east/south and others like to stay on 129 to Robbinsville. The road between Franklin and Highland follows the the rock face of a mountain and has two waterfalls on the route. There's an good diner in Franklin that's pretty popular. The 129-28 ride is probably my favorite ride anywhere when there's no traffic and no patrols. -

Twelfth South'n Spine Raid 2016

Noble- If I were heading there, I'd get there a day or two early or stay later (and avoid Saturday and Sunday) and ride the Tail of the Dragon (hwy 129) and on to hwy 28 to Highland then loop back through Robinsville. I think that is one of the best stretches of roads anywhere. The Dragon is usually too crowded on weekend to enjoy. -
You have to give it to Chuck. He "Jumped Into The Fire"

Yamaha TRX? Sorry never seen one; I thought Suzuki made the only Asian bikes with trellis frames (SV, TL, and early 400 Bandit).
-
wow. The black Duc is stunning. what trellis frame matched to that Yamaha?
-
I rode to the Spine Frame Raid and back to Okla City a couple of years ago on the Greenie. That had to be about 2500 miles round trip considering stops and extra riding. I took the interstate going home and had to get off once an hour the last day or so to stretch my legs.

Mine will occasionally do it too. Pipes, crossover, K&N and PC IV. Mine's not very pronounced. When it coughs I just give it a little more throttle. The key is don't lug it. It sometimes does it when coasting but again I blip the throttle when I downshift and will blip it again if it coughs. The issue for me so slight that I just ignore it. Blip the gas and chalk it up to the "character" of that big powerful (that's a laugh) V Twin.
-
Mine has a PC IV in it, all tuned and runs good. The previous owner had it dialed in and I'm not going to fix what ain't broke. However, the big deal now is GuzziDiag. Using your PC to remap the ECU. There many off the shelf tunes that can be downloaded. Any way, just check it out on Wild Guzzi. All you need is a cable and a laptop. And a little more skill than I have. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=69168.0

Elkader is a "must do". And the Minn guys were in Grand Marais this year which is just gorgeous. I wish they were back to back weekends. I'd like to attend both sometime. I went to Duluth and GM after attending Elkader National a few years ago. So it would even be better to have two rallies. I'd like to make the trek to John Day sometime. And WI too.
