I only read anti Wiki stuff from people that peddle "alternative facts". -
Fuel economy variatons with different fuels

Wiki is one of the first places I go to when I want to do initial research or understanding. There you can find cited original sources if you want to go deeper. It's open sourced and publicly reviewed. I'm not sure why it gets so much flak. Perhaps it's because wiki is a culmination of many primary sources and therefore in itself cannot be accepted as primary research for schools and academics. -

Prouty is an interesting crank, it doesn't mean he's wrong. I learned of him reading about the Kennedy assassination. He was the inspiration for the Donald Sutherland character in the movie. So far as whether oil is organic or inorganic, I'm clueless. I've talked to petroleum geologists. Their entire theory is that it's an organic "fossil" and the depth and location determines the actual age of the substance. I'm sure someone will correct me if I misstated it. In a practical sense, it really doesn't matter what origin of it really is. Where the guy is right is regarding the "scarcity" and economics of it. We all know it's largely controlled by OPEC and the oil companies. It appears we will run out of use for it as a fuel before we literally run out of it, given the cheap availability of sustainable power coming on line. He makes another point about other commodities as well. Given that he was talking about economic and geopolitical policies in the 1970's, he's been proven correct. -

I hope to live long enough to buy an EV someday. -

awful. I will say it's another example where riding faster than traffic, speeding, is a safer way to ride a motorcycle. I always felt safer on major highways passing traffic rather than riding with it. I've had to limit that due to excessive enforcement over the last 10 years. Much more stressful to ride with traffic. just my 2 cents -

Casey's is brand new station, less than year old. And Buc-ee's is the latest in "super stations", bigger than cable! -

Fuel economy variatons with different fuels

I usually buy cheap gas for the car. Many times ethanol. For the bikes I'm a little more careful. Usually 100% gas / 91. I've only seen precipitous mileage drop on these two occasions. 91 in the Corvette from Buc-ees and 91 in Duc from Casey's. Anymore, I just run 87 in the Corvette, makes no difference how it runs. -

Casey advertized 100% gasoline 91 octane. The difference was nearly 4 mpg -

@Pressureangle Don't purchase Buc-ee's or Casey's gas. -
2003 Moto Guzzi V11 LeMans Rosso Corsa (price reduced)
LowRyter replied to drossell7's topic in Personal Ads
I was texted by a rider that has one and wants $4500. It's a nice bike with a salvage title. I told him to post it here. If anyone is interested, PM and I'll give you his number. He's moved out of state and works for an auction house. He's the fellow I posted about that was the broker for Steve McQueen's $250k Husky. He'll put it in the Las Vegas auction otherwise. -

$4k, that's what I paid for this one. And it was the bike that was photo'd for "Motorcyclist" magazine. It's got 70k on it now -

There are available body kits for these bikes now that fit the round headlight instead of the square one on the model bike. So if Yamaha never sells it here, there're options. This is the bodykit that I'm writing about: Is this bike mechanically the same as the MT09? -
@GuzziMoto Zarco was on KTM at the very beginning of their entry. There might've been lots of reasons. Perhaps slow development or ignoring his input. He is a different category of rider for sure, considering his unpredictable results positive and negative.
-
@GuzziMoto I don't think Zarco had a choice if he wanted to stay in MotoGP. I think Martin's tires were gone, one lap too many....
-
I see the bike has 14k miles on it, so it's been ridden.

glad to see #5 win one

I see that Rahal is sponsoring a pair of Duc V2's for Moto Am Supersport with Ben Spies as manager. He and his son own a couple bike dealers in Indy including Ducati. Wayne is getting the program going now. I wonder if the Daytona 200 will get back to snuff? I might even attend another one. -
