as mentioned on WG 6 amp with the with bike in gear and sidestand switch preventing powering the pump 6.4x amp with the bike out of gear and sidestand switch powering pump. both readings above the 4amp example. I think it's a manual petcock because it leaked like hell until I was able to finally close it with a couple of more turns. During the tests with ammeter, I did start the bike and it blew the 10A fuse after running 30 sec. Unless I get more tricks to try, the bike will get picked at a local shop. Luckily the mechanic has been wrenching on a silver red frame that he can swap parts from bike to bike. Probably a good idea for electrical troubleshooting. He just replaced the fuel pump on that one. He's had the silver one for months and bought the shop manual. (I hope he's had it for months because of billing issues.)

the fuel filter change didn't fix it. sent you a pm on Wild Guzzi, Roy

how do you change out the electric pet cock? I really don't know what I have.

it's oil not gear oil.

Appreciate all your support and advice regarding the breather hose with 2001 V11 Sport. Now I have a real problem that has left me on the side of the road. I blew the fuel pump fuse (10A). I was able to replace it with a 15A. It ran like crap for 5 miles and finally stopped. At first it wouldn't run at low RPMs, then it would quit and catch, jerking until it stopped altogether. It would re-start and then quit. It did run long enough to get it on the trailer without pushing it. I got it home and replaced the 15A with the proper 10A and it blew again. This leads me to think of three possibilities: 1. Fuel Pump is bad 2. Fuel filter is clogged and the pump is pulling more than 10A. It gets hot or starves for fuel. 3. Other wiring or electrical. I suppose I'll change out the pump and filter. And look for chaffed or lose wiring. I open for suggestions especially anyone that's been around this before. (Good news. I haven't seen a lot more oil leaking)

$7200 for the Balabio. The write up says "No nicks or scratches". The photo shows major rash on the tight fork leg and fender. Strange.

holy moly ... glad you weren't buzzing around Telico Planes !

First time service on 43 mm Marzocchi forks
LowRyter replied to nobleswood's topic in Technical Topics
If I was going the trouble to take them apart, I'd replace both the bushings and seals. The deformed bushings will wear out the seals. It's important to change both bushings in each fork. Otherwise you'll have to take it apart again when the seals leak. If you don't like the ride, yes, change out the springs and valves. Go with the Guzzi Tech. Todd's done tons of development. Of course, if it's not leaking and you like the ride, don't fix it if it ain't broke. (You can change the oil without taking the forks apart?) I have 30k on my Greenie and unless the previous owner worked on it, the fork has never been touched. I think the bike handles like it's on rails compared to my Bandit (with full Race Tech Gold Valves & Springs) and my EV(which as been serviced with new bushings and seals). -
How many states are these guys wanted in? Lucky they didn't get caught since their lawyer was laid up (locked up?).

maybe next year Docc. I rode the Greenie to Springfield for the Mile but came up blanks with trailering the beast to Telico Planes. Man, retired life is just too busy to get everything done. This weekend I have a tickets to see the Sooners play some orange team from the east. So poor those folks in Appalachia that they can't even send their pep band over here. Anyway. here's some photos from Springfield I took: who would win? the King of Cool.

Rich, I am sure the larger community at Wild Guzzi would love to keep up with this project. We have vintage Bonneville, flat track and road racers that have run or are still running vintage Guzzis on the board. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php That's where the big Guzzi community hangs out and knows the ins and outs on the classic and new bikes bikes. The other cites I listed are great for racing parts, services and technical knowledge.

Please take some photos. I'll try it next year.

Let's get this in perspective. The OP is looking at running the Manx GP- not the TT. He's not looking for a spine frame, 4 valver or MGS-01. This is the vintage racing for bikes manufactured prior to 1987. Certainly a 1000 LeMans would be a formidable ride and should be competitive with any Euro or Japanese bike from the era.

I'd contact these guys. http://www.guzzitech.com/ http://www.guzzipower.com/ http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=18 http://teamguzzinerd.blogspot.com/ http://www.mikerichmotorsports.com/index.html good luck.

Need help - bike leaking oil, loosing power, sluggish acceleration
LowRyter replied to FalcoLion's topic in Technical Topics
it's pretty easy to tell which ain't firing by putting your hand on the head. The cold one is the dead one. I had a problem with the EV. The left cyl would quit intermittently. It took nearly a year to get it figured out. One of the ignitor module connections just wasn't quite connecting. After lots of trial and error I reversed the two connections and dressed them with dielectric grease and the problem went away. knock wood -

ooooh geeess, I am glad it wasn't "ass". good luck on the screws. my real point was to take the screws to a hardware store and get a match. Hope it all works out. The wife and I are planning our first visit there next summer. -

really? "Ace" is the same word in French as in English, I don't see the problem.
