  1. is possible to intall the complete upgrade to Ohlins parts with radial brakes? That might be the only replacements available from the OEM. If so, that's what I would hold the shipper for replacement costs. hopefully there was insurance quite suspicious that a package that large would be lost.
  2. I was interested to go. I checked. The lodge was booked on Saturday night. No rooms available. I didn't quite understand the double occupancy part. Maybe next year, It's about 1000 mile ride.

  4. Andy, it looks like the service window was cut on the wrong side of the guard. It appears you've cut the guard all the way through on the aft end and made a completely new hole.
  5. that's the way mine looks too. So I can see some allen bolts fastening the U Joint. Does the hole needs to be enlarged a good inch or so to get to the zerk?
  6. I haven't greased the U joints on my 2001 Greenie. Are you saying the window is too small to get to the grease fitting? If so can't I expand it will a grinding drill bit or Dremil tool without removing it? the owner's manual illustration is useless.
  7. you probably have a pinched gasket which is pretty common. take off the cover and see where it's kinked. you might (probably) need a new gasket.
  8. If the bike is creeping while it's in gear, the clutch isn't fully disengaging. I had a similar experience with my Suzuki which also has a hydraulic actuated clutch. The rubber hose expands over time. You might add some hydraulic fluid and see it it takes up the slack. Worked for me. I later had the system flushed and went about my business.
  9. wait? there is a Spine Frame Rally in the Fall at Telico Planes TN? When?
  10. free and cold are my two favorites
  11. 3.0L without filter change?
  12. I was able to research this on this forum by search function and the smaller (middle bolt) is recommended. BTW- I don't have a socket to fit the big plug and the crescent wrench won't fit. here's the link http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11803&hl=%2Boil+%2Bdrain+%2Bbolt
  13. he needs to ride it to the National at Lavigne.
  14. I bought the big socket and set the valves at .006 and .004 INCHES like I do on the EV. I set them tight but it still clatters more than it did before I set them. just put 20k miles on it. I love riding it. also used the big ass socket on the EV when I set the valves on that on. better than spinning that rear wheel and looking at the slot machine (make me dizzy)
  15. my speedo jumps all over the place and won't settle to zero when I am stopped until I shake it by revving the motor. I've lubed the cable and taken the cable off from both ends. yes, the pointer is faded too. Palo Alto?
  16. that's for both instruments? not bad
  17. Who & where?
  18. you might be right, getting that bezal off and on again is a bitch. I'll bet sawing and soldering or taping it back together might be easier. I fixed the Tach on my 98 EV. Once I got the bezel off, it was just a matter of gluing in the counter weight. You might hear it rattling around when you disconnect the tach. BTW- I used paint can opener church key filed down and hose clamp to gt the bezel off. I broke the glass and had another cut at the glass store. Much harder getting it back on. Had to get help on that ....but soap and keep twisting it. Now if I could only fix the Speedo on the greenie from jumping all over....
  19. either will work. Don't ask how I know
  20. hope you are healed and on the road again soon
  21. I was thinking the V11 Sports had Sachs shocks whereas the older spines, i.e.1100 Sports, had WP.
  22. We will be going out to Indy for the MotoGP races there. We have been going there since the F1 races at Indy. Good times. After the way COTA has treated the people that brought the F1 and MOTOGP races to their track (and treating Kevin Schwantz that way is F'd up) I will refrain from giving them my money. Have fun. agree with you regarding KS. COTA seems clueless in planning, ticketing and marketing areas. But it is the best road course in North America. Anyway, it's a days ride, I am staying with a friend, going to visit AF1 and riding in the Hill Country the following Monday. I haven't missed an Indy Moto GP. I fact I went to the Indy 500 last year and plan to do both this year. BTW- it's the weekend previous to the National Rally in Lavigne Ont. I plan to do both. I just retired. See you at Indy. Perhaps Levigne too?
  23. I am riding to COTA for the next GP. Anyone here going too? I'm riding the Greenie, going to go to AF1 social Sat nite. It's great to see Rossi contending again. I'll be rooting for #46 and the Americans.
  24. thanks, I'll pass that on. I've only seen the bike parked in his repair lot, have never touched it. He asked me if I had a shop manual for the Greenie, gave him This Old Tractor website, and thought I'd get some advice from the board.
