  1. according to wiki Stevie Nicks had written the lyrics separately and thought they would be a good match; she and Christine McVie did some reworking to create the first section of the tune.[4] Nicks' lyrics referenced the breakup of her relationship with Buckingham, a theme of many of Nicks' and Buckingham's lyrics on Rumours No question about Buckenham's talent (nor Nicks and the rest of the band). She pulled a cruel stunt when LB gave up his tour with his own band to tour with FM, only to be fired by her after a couple of weeks. And then into the hear hospital (?). He ended up playing several gigs on the last season of "Prairie Home Companion". This band was pop-narcist IMO. I liked the rocking music of the Bob Welch better and the Peter Green band was an even better blues band. OTOH, I never saw them live and I understand these guys were outstanding players and Lindsey played the whole catalog... "Oh Well".
  2. yeah, watch the video. The three of them are getting a laugh out of the pass.
  3. it's not like the riders have their panties in a bunch. Geeees, where's the hate? Fights? Yelling? Crap, they're laughing about it like buddies.
  4. rub'n is racin' The Beast was chasing and Jorge was blocking him for 4 laps. Sooner or later the faster guy is coming through. He was patient until the last opportunity and didn't give Jorge a 2nd chance. It would've been the case if their positions were reversed.
  5. AOR was a great period of music. Whether Sly, Yes, CSN&Y, Dead, Zep, Stones, Isaac, Feat, Santana. All there. Public Radio was doing jazz and classical. Top 40 was still a thing and Country was still twanging. Then MTV. I guess it was gone by the early 80's? Now we have "classic rock" -anything but. Eagles wannbes on country stations. No jazz anymore. (Boring) Classical only to prevent NPR news from being heard. Hip hop and Pop are going strong. Thank goodness for internet radio.
  6. saw Page & Plant play "How Many More Times" in 1998. It was a little more roots based IIRC. saw Zep play "Moby @#$$#!" in 1970. Bonzo must've done 20 minutes. Green trap set wearing a matching tanktop. @KINDOY2 I know that Zep is a love'em or hate'em band. So I won't proselytize
  7. Relegated to riding my EV, I discovered the signals and taillights weren't working. I checked and cleaned the fuses and played with the relays, only before discovering the fuse was missing. Where did it go?
  8. Stoner Trim Shine Vinyl and Plastic Coating Aerosol 12-fl oz Car Exterior Restoration Kit in the Car Exterior Cleaners department at Lowes.com
  9. here's the bike Inventory Unit Detail Motiv Cycleworks Oklahoma City, OK (405) 641-1801 I apparently got the mileage wrong. Looks like lots of M Rich stuff in the motor!
  10. Simple racing accident. That's it
  11. Stoner's Trim Shine. $6 at Lowes Learned from a codger that rode up on Beemer 750 triple. Looked like brand new. Tried it. He was right. Works great to restore UV.
  12. Alex' fault but racing incident. Supposedly Alex couldn't see Pecco until it was too late.
  13. I spent a week in Paris and had a great time. People were nice and courteous. I remember walking back to the hotel from dinner smoking a cigar and asked the wife to go in ask the manager if I finished it the hotel courtyard. I was waved in and the manager said, "Mr John, you're in Paris, you can do what you want." That was pretty nice. The language barrier makes for more confusion than disagreements IMO. None of which has anything regarding my feeling about anti American F1.
  14. My opinion is watching some of the F1 commentary vs MotoGP. F1 is largely based in England and it seems the entire structure wants to bar American participation whether drivers or teams. Instead of being upfront that they're motivated by simple greed, instead their rationalization is based on demeaning unworthy American competition. I think MotoGP wants to expand in the US and would like to have an American rider or two. If they were flush like F1 with three GPs, perhaps not? Dunno. I didn't mean to imply that this was on any personal basis at all. I've had great personal interactions with people of all nationalities. In fact, when traveling or meeting tourists, I find the people encountered are more friendly than the people in my town.
  15. never heard of CFS. I think I have it (and never drug a knee): Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is a chronic illness that can make it difficult for people to do their usual activities. Rossi and KR have sponsored riders. In fact Bagnia is leading the championship. I wouldn't say a bad word about any of them. Stoner, Rossi, Bagnia any of them. Whether physical, mental, metaphysical or an act of God, those guys put it out there, since I don't know how they ever did it, I'd be damn fool to explain why they quit.
  16. Does anyone know what ever happened to Stoner? There were rumored health reasons for his retirement but there's not been any confirmation. Many say he had the more riding skills and bike control than anyone else. Too bad he never raced Marquez.
  17. If you listen to the commentators, they agree with you. Usually, the Brits seem to dislike Americans but for some reason, they like Roberts. Maybe they want to see more US market penetration too? I think we can forget about another US race.
  18. Chuck, no complaints here. Bev has been slowly getting better with her knee replacement but it hasn't been easy. So far as recalls, Don's shop is a dealer, and he's supposed to check. So far as the bike? I was talking to top mechanic Doug (I screwed my Ducati, another story). He told me I was lucky to have killed the bike and brought it because it would've killed me. He said the gearbox could easily have come apart and locked up at speed. Gulp. Besides the bearings, the deal with the pins is another kettle of fish. Apparently Guzzi had changed out the access door on my bike and the newer door has pins machined in. Besides the broken one, the one on the bottom is leaking. They're going to make threaded pins, use some adhesive to keep them in place and silicone the other one. In regard to my Duc. I was riding it and the ABS light comes on. I see that the bolt holding the sensor had fallen out. I'm on the floor in the dark garage and find a longer bolt in my stash. I didn't realize the receiver was open ended, I bent the ABS ring tightening the bolt. Somehow, I also hurt my knee and lower leg getting up and down on the garage floor, been taking muscle relaxers about 50% better. Then the Doc office called just now from my appointment last week and wants to pile on more old guy's meds. I'm tired of that quack. New pills on top of old pills that didn't work? Heck of a last few days. OK, if you have an early red frame, watch your gearbox. Don't work in a dark garage. Don't be a dumbass like me. BLLLLEEEEEHHH
  19. I'm not laughing and too depressed to show the photos.
  20. Question, if a trellis frame is unpredictable how was it successful in production bikes? I love the handling and balance of my Ducati. I suppose that production bikes aren't made to high tolerances and purpose of a race bike to be used "on the limit"?
  21. This was a particular favorite. I shared the magazine in 8th grade English class. A rotten friend took an eraser to it and erased her eyes. I was relieved a few months later when they brought the ad back.
  22. Thanks @audiomick
  23. Looks bad. Bearing cage broke up. That's the crap in the bottom of the case. I suppose a rebuild, it would make sense to replace all the cages? I've got photos but it's just broken pieces and the broken pin. I don't know about getting the parts or anything else. As busted as it is, surprising that it rode as good as it did.
  24. Now they finally broke into the Transmission. Don't know the extent of damage and the fix. A broken pin (perhaps a limiter pin?) and swarf in the bottom of the case. I suppose the soap opera will continue on Monday.
  25. Many of the roads here are 3rd world. I keep the suspensions on my bike SOFT. I also use BOTH brakes to stop. Got to keep it level when I stop.
