I just posted it to WG, so it's the same screed. Well I binned my Moto Guzzi EV and scraped myself up pretty good. I was taking a left hand cloverleaf downhill to merge on to the expressway, lightly trail braking and the bike low-sided and scraped the pavement. I highsided and rolled over and kissed the pavement twice since my modular helmet was open. The bike was still running on the curb. All kinds of traffic was barreling down that blind cloverleaf behind me. A couple of good Samaritans helped me get the bike up and asked if I wanted an ambulance. I want to get the bike moved, my shop is couple miles away. Anyway, we got it up and it started. The windshield, running boards, crash bar and grab handled were buggered on the left side and handlebar bent. There was a big bunch of wadded plastic like packing material in the front fender it was wrapped around the caliper. I didn't consider it at the time but I'm pretty sure that was the culprit. I had my gear on but my old mesh jacket ripped and I've got road rash my forearm and elbow, my nose and chin are scraped as well a small spot on my right knee. Those riding jeans I wrote about aren't ripped. My Shoei is a little knacked on the chinbar since it was open. In the mess of getting it all together I lost one of my custom earplugs, this irks me the most. I call the wife and tell her to meet me at the shop. The cops come by and asks if I want an ambulance. I've got my gear on by then and just want to ride it to the shop. The clutch won't work, it's lost the pivot pin. We find a sheet metal screw on the pavement, good enough. I try to adjust the mirrors and fail. So I ask the cop to block traffic so I can ride it. For some reason he's screws around and I just take off down the expressway at the first break. I get off at the first exit and doubleback 3 miles to the shop. I finally get the mirrors adjusted half way there. I'm grateful to be moving to get some air riding back with the helmet still open. When I get there one of the techs wife is an EMT and they patch up my elbow. I wait and call my wife again, she misunderstood and is panicked and not left yet. I try to cool off, wash up and drink lots of water. Bev picks me up. I get home have a beer and take a Tylenol and a stashed muscles relaxer. Take a shower and have scotch and write this story. I'm going to have to get earplugs. I've got other helmets and jackets. My lower back is a little sore.

Great quote Docc. I'd recommend anyone to see these types of events. The next one scheduled was King Tut. The Van Gough was so popular they've delayed that one. Similar exhibits are in other cities.

Very off topic but some here might find interesting. I went to an exhibit during a recent trip to Denver. It was a multimedia presentation of Van Gogh's paintings. It was an infusion of video, animation, venue and music. There were mirrored sculptures as well as two rooms running simultaneous presentations and open doors between the rooms amplifying the experience as "a painting within a painting" with fellow patrons silhouetted that become part of the visual experience. There was a great sound system with electronic and classical music such as the famous Bach cello and Mussorgsky "Pictures at an Exhibition". A few photos, thanks for your indulgence. I was in Denver last week. I can't remember if I posted this before. Ig so just ignore. Saw TTB/Los Lobos show at Red Rocks. Incredible show. I've seen both together in a small venue (1000) and now seeing them play at 10k venue. The pictures didn't come out as well but the energy and the sound moving across so much space was very powerful. Los Lobos ended with Mas y Mas that had Derrick and the horns accompanying. LL's drummer returned the favor in an instrumental jam from the first vol of the new record. Gabe Dixon opened with his own band as well keyboards for TTB, he played with all three bands. TTB played a couple of songs on the new album, Midnight in Harlem (of course), Angel from Montgomery/Sugaree, closed with I want More/Allman's jam, the encore was Space Captain (we have to live together).As with all the shows I can remember, Susan did the first guitar solo. She was subtly political with messages of unity and caring, I saw folks of all ages, a dad & his 6-7 year-olds were dancing right next to me. Afterwards, I had a 50 mile drive through the park up a mountain highway and got back to the place about 1:30, certainly a riveting drive in the dark particularly after consuming some special local treats.

I purchased one of those CF lookalike fiberglass covers a few years ago. it was posted somewhere on here. I wanted to match the CF bikini fairing. It's held up and looks good. It weighs more than the OEM aluminum cover. I was too cheap to get the stick-on Guzzi emblem or to buy the actual CF cover that was offered.

Got the refurb unit sometime when I was on vacation, charged it up and linked with my cell, took it for a ride and it performed flawlessly. For comparison, the old one was plastic, the new one is metal and matching the aluminum on my bike. It's probably 3 times heavier. The display is noticeably brighter as well.

@KINDOY2 I don't know who is in the band now, saw them in '78 after the Columbus record came out. Saw them again in the '80's and '00's. They're on my radar for a fall show in Tulsa.

I'd do a tune up and to try to keep the engine from dying. At least put new plugs in it- they're about $2/ea at Oreilly's. Clean some connections and for sure carry some spare relays with you and clean those contacts.

Heard from Beeline. They've agreed to send me a remanufactured unit and waive the return. I recommended that they work out a return mailer barcode system if they want efficient returns and warranty satisfaction. This is after I contracted 6 local shippers.

So far not much luck with them and it's been a week. I thought I was purchasing a replacement, then I get notice that they want to repair it. Went to UPS and shipping is $100, USPS won't touch it (Li Battery). They didn't supply a mailer so I'm confused what the hell they want to do. I'll keep you posted. I'll get a refund on my paypal if they keep screwing around.

I saw Roger a few years ago. His show is just a triumph of sight and sound unlike anything I've ever seen and very political. sorry I only had my old phone and not my travel camera or even my newer phone.

The unit failed upon test ride today. I've ordered a discounted replacement for about $81 + shipping. I guess it's wait and see. Provided here FYI.

So far as music trivia. Back when I was in college and thought I could play drums, I met this guy Max Miller. He was a retired jazz musician and he told some wild stories of road trips and the rest. His stories made rock and roll stars almost seem tame. He named dropped a bunch of famous jazz stars from the '30's & '40's. The stories were totally believable but I confess I had never heard of him until I met him and to this day haven't heard his music.
