  1. It works. I'm not sure what the hassle is? The pinlocks are preinstalled on Shoei helmets. I suppose that you could bugger the shield in your AGV by spacing the holes wrong?
  2. I'm guessing there are few folks here that have Pinlock anti-fog inserts that attach to the helmet visor. I was cleaning my my visor last week and broke a couple of pushpins. I was able to find a supplier on the 'web. They did cost $10 but got to me a 4 days.https://www.ebay.com/itm/304591910462
  3. I'm sorry hearing of the untimely death in the Guzzi community. I didn't know the gentleman or his website. Hopefully the website will continue or perhaps the combined into another. Sympathies to the his family and loved ones.
  4. I'd think there's a tradition and patriotism that Brits feel that Americans can't understand. I know the monarchy does have its domestic critics but I'm guessing that's an apathetic minority. Certainly the queen has been an inspiration for many, particularly the WWII generation. She did have grace, seemed unassuming around her subjects, and had a dry sense of humor. I think she was wise even as a princess. One interesting tidbit, so far as wealth, they weren't nearly as rich as many royals across the world. I read the royalty of Thailand were many times richer.
  5. Thanks for the info guys. My fears were completely unfounded. Got a few shots of contact cleaner in it and cleaned up some of the gunk on the outside edges. Both switches seem to have pretty good action. I made a point cycling them to scrub the contact cleaner. Hopefully, I'll be good to go.
  6. I don't know if anyone here watches Colbert but I really like the band. You might know that John Baptiste has left and Louis Cato is the leader. Anyway, the Late Show band was playing this (Buddy Miles "Them Changes") during one of the breaks
  7. I happened to find the silicon gasket I took off. It's now straighten up and sets flat.
  8. I broke the glass trying to reinstall the bezel. A harder job for me than taking it off. A press and prying fixture makes a lot of sense. I'd bet Levine has something like that.
  9. You might note if you hear something rattling around in it. If so, it's likely the counterweight. If you can get the bezel off, then you can glue it back on. Getting the bezel off is the hard part. I used a big hose clamp to squeeze the metal case and then I used a paint can opener to pry the bezel off off. I might've filed the opener to fit and be careful not to break the glass. If you do, a glass shop can cut you a new one (don't ask how I know). Glue the weight on with a light application of epoxy. Use soap or silicone on the rubber gasket to reinstall the bezel. If it doesn't rattle, don't even start. Call Joel Levine.
  10. I'd wager someone here can get you one. There's pages on how Chuck and Scud made new springs.
  11. ^^ Reminds me of that Jethro Tull record, "Living in the Past".
  12. yes, the Indian is 100+ HP at the wheel. Both are over 500lb.
  13. Well, the long way around. I was going to post this photo here but it was too large. Anway, I was riding in the sauna the other day and there were only two bikes out, so I had to take this photo. The owner said he has two bikes, this and the Indian you're asking about. Next time I see him, I'll see if we can get a photo. Having ridden the Indian, I'd guess they're close in size, even close in weight- they're not fat but big boned. Anyway, you can understand why I took the photo.
  14. Sometime it self burps. Then opening, it throws up. Not a pleasant analogy.
  15. Next dumb question, are replacement switches available? It looks unique, like it was made at George Jetson's company (Spacely Sprockets).
  16. The handlebar kill switch on my bike is a bit dodgy. I have to fiddle with it every once in awhile to get the bike to start. So, if I take it apart to clean it, I'm hoping that pieces to a Timex won't fall out? That it's pretty straight forward connection and switch? Docc, I did a couple of searches and didn't find anything before I asked. Just a word of caution or encouragement before a get the hammers out would be greatly appreciated. thanx.
  17. it sure would've been easier if Guzzi just made the newer gaskets as superseding the old ones. And to think, this forum has been going for years and we didn't discover this until now.
  18. Docc, 1. I mentioned that the silicone valve cover gaskets curled up after I removed them. They're squirmy to install and I've had a couple of them break the ears off. At one time, I had one silicone and one paper gasket on one of my bikes. 2 . I've found the green paper ones install best when glued on the head with grease and then aligning the valve cover. 3. Donnie at the Guzzi Tulsa shop mentioned that the later sandwich gaskets worked better. I misunderstood him and thought the didn't fit my V11 series. Lucky Phil and Pete corrected that for me and confirmed that they would fit. 4. In the future I'll look for the newer style valve cover gaskets. 5. I still might be confused.
  19. Really? Then tell me the ones I took off my EV don't look like rolled up caterpillars. Perhaps if I put them in a book and closed the cover?
  20. That was question when I talked to Donnie about them. He said they worked much better but that Guzzi didn't show them as applicable. I suppose he meant that they fit but just didn't match Guzzi's direction? I suppose I just misunderstood him. Yeah, he had problems with leaking valve cover gaskets too.
  21. Much better idea. The local wrench in Tulsa liked those. The question was whether they fit. If so, why in the world wasn't this a superseded part?
  22. I've used them. Had them tear. And find they're difficult to reuse once they get a little bent. I advise anyone as ham fisted as me to always carry a couple of spares if they're going overnight or longer. I find it's easiest to glue paper ones with grease to the head and install the cover over it. The silicone gaskets like to squirm around. I know some riders that have never changed out the paper gasket and never had a problem. Man, they're good.
