KR- the weather turned cold, so I'm not working in my garage now. I'll try to assimilate your instructions at the next opportunity. Thanks for all your PMs. I have to admit that it was a little over my head.

I just sat on it. There are no demo bikes. This was a display bike that was being ferried to different dealers. They also had 660 Tiger standard and another new bike or two.

Photo I took posted on Ducati forum

It was a red one just like the photo above. I have a couple of photos on my phone. I don't know what P6X is asking.

I had a chance to sit on the new Speed Triple RR today. They took the comfort out of the standard bike and hit it with a pretty stick. This one looks half the size of the standard Triple, I suppose an illusion. So far as the riding position, I'd say it's about 2/3 extreme from our bikes into full a sportbike. A had to tippy toe it a little bit too but it wasn't a problem for me. The mirrors swing out, so very adjustable.It's a nice looking bike, reminds me of the early '00s Guzzi Lemans although not quite that pretty. A little bit retro. Given that I'm a little puzzled why they didn't make it a touch more comfy but I'm perhaps a little older than their target. I'd post a photo but photos are too large to drag and I'm too lazy to URL it.

We didn't lose power in many places north of the Re, myself included. It seems crazy to purchase generators rather than just fixing the grid. For sure there can be temporary disruptions, storms and wind.

we've had great weather in flyover America. Sleeping with windows open, BBQ'ing tenderloin for Xmas dinner. Riding in 75 degree weather. Christmas here was 6 degrees cooler than the last 4th of July. However, you might remember last winter when the power grid gave out, dozens froze to death, we had below zero weather for a week and didn't get over freezing for two weeks? And that was in February when the weather is usually turning balmy.

Regarding the Audi. Friends purchased a VW Jetta GLI, direct injection turbo performance car. Like the V6, this 4 cylinder has "hydraulic timing chain tensioners". The problem is that upon startup, there's is no oil pressure. So when the chain gets loose, when starting the engine the chain might jump a sprocket tooth which happened to my friends at 60k miles. The engine was totaled. Actually, they were visiting us on their way to Memphis. When they left out house, I could hear a racket that sounded like a timing chain but wasn't familiar with the vehicle. They were stuck in Memphis for about a week. I checked Google about it, there are on going class action lawsuits. You might notice in the video the narrator made note of poor VW tensioners and the difficulty to replace them.

Scud, the plant in Mandello is getting a complete rebuild, at least according to grand plans reports from the company. When that would be accomplished and how it would influence production is unknown to me.

Vibration in grips at 3k-5k RPM...any way to correct?
LowRyter replied to VtwinStorm's topic in Technical Topics
Sorry, the clip on them selves are solid. My bad. I have a handlebar conversion and the take off parts in a box. I think the bars are filled with lead shot. Typically the bars shake at idle and smooth out. 3k+ is the sweet spot. -
Funny. I lost a cap last time I checked the air pressure. So I went to Oreilly's and picked some green ones to go with the bike. looks cool.

Remarkable Houston Texas Motorcycle dealerships roster;

Local OKC Eurotek dealer (triumph, beemer, duc) often did a Saturday chili, burgers, breakfast, donut thing. Hosted a pizza party for the Ducati club dinner once too. No cook outs since Covid. Hopefully, they'll get it back in gear. There are no Ducatis in stock now and other brands have limited models. I'd think a bar and grill integrated into a motorcycle shop would make a lot of sense. They could still be separate business separated by glass and business hours. -

I think I see a black Ferrari.

It would be cool if they had a Euro delivery plan. Pick up the bike at the factory, go on a week long ride, get first service, finish at the 101 Guzzi celebration, and ship the bike home. The entire package would be worth $20k.

That has been the assumption since the frame of the later bikes were changed. In my case, the drip washed over the left side of the gearbox when it was on the side stand.
