  1. Whether it's a $6k bike or not, like my Grampa said about the farm land he bought, "They're not making anymore of it."
  2. I guess Euro Cycles doesn't need need any work for the shop. They can't service the bike and change tires? WTF?
  3. All I can tell you is my Sport ate my Michelin Pilot Roads. Why spend the $$$ if they don't handle any better than cheaper Dunlops? (which seem to be holding up) I knew that Pirelli owned Metzler, didn't know that ChinaChem owned Pirelli.
  4. Despite this thread dead as Creaser's horse, I think you're on target Scud.
  5. There was an interesting book a few years ago called "Future Shock" that fits well within the idea of "info overload". As for protected speech, I suppose lies and propaganda are fair game but like liable and slander, there are consequences and remedies. It just gets worse when bad intent is magnified on social and mass media. Patrick Moynihan said that everyone has right to his own opinion but not to his own facts. And so long as I'm on the soapbox, omission can be powerful too. Growing up in Oklahoma, there was never a mention of the Tulsa race massacre. I was in my 40s before I ever knew about it. Something so important and so awful, killing and affecting so many people, families and an wiping out and entire community, something I never knew even after studying "official Oklahoma State History". Nope, it wasn't in the book. Nothing about it.
  6. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you but I suppose this PC stuff is relative depending on who's topic was canned and who complained?
  7. I'm fond of the Dunlop Road Smarts. I have them on my Greenie and my Ducati. I've had Pirellis and Michelins on my Greenie. The Dunlops last as long or longer, handle just as well and cost less <Guzzi content>. I wore out the rear the Michelin really quickly, too expensive for that. I liked them so well, I replaced the Pirellis (Rosso III) on my Ducati after too many worn tires in a short amount of miles.
  8. Sorry, if I wasn't clear. Joel fixed my speedo and it's still working. That's opposed to buying new gauge for about the same money, such as Speedhut, which understand work quite well too. I guess I wasn't clear. Joel does good work. That's why I've recommended here years ago.
  9. It should be fine. He's OK if you want to keep your original gauges.
  10. The guy that took the photo had a high end Canon DSLR but I think his white balance was way off. The colors are really washed out and no amount of adjustment with windows photo editor could fix it. In this case, he just put it up and as he took it. (Just a hint, do a few test shots before you take some a bunch of photos for publication to make sure you have the camera set right.)
  11. Kane, hardly Sturgis, at least we hope not. We're just a suburb of OKC that's transitioned from a farm, oil and rail town. But some of the restaurants and perhaps brew pubs wouldn't be out of place in LA as well as our "medical" shops.
  12. Recently my town has started a Bike Night, last Tuesday of the month. They've been doing a lot of renovation and turning the downtown into entrainment destination. I'll provide a link to it but to get the shorthand, my bike is the icon bike for the event. (I couldn't get the photo image to post) https://www.edmondbikenight.com/
  13. Yeah, raw fuel burning in the exhaust pipe. That's really rich.
  14. Joel fixed the Veglia Speedo on my V11 Sport. Still working.
  15. It's sorta perplexing, usually lean condition runs hot but usually give more power. In your case we were running rich, lost power but running really hot? I guess I'm in a constant state of mechanical confusion regarding understanding the IC engine. But you're saying there were no leak in the pipe that burned your saddlebag and were running rich as well?
  16. Glad you were able to figure it out.
  17. So Paul, assume you made it home on the "hot" Norge?
  18. I think Leroy was the only Spiney that made it. I took my Duc. Report to follow. I saw friends I hadn't seen in a couple of years. It was the Wild Guzzi Rally in the Kansas Flint Hills. I took my travel trailer and the Supersport. A couple of the guys own Ducs, one a '90s vintage SS. Big sky country. Steep but gentle hills. We had catered, pot luck Thurs-Fri and a fish fry on Saturday. About 60 folks from as far away as Cali, KY and WI. And all the neighboring states. The wind blew like hell. Temps went from the high 40s to the mid 80s. Hot and very cold wind. Most of us had our shots and a few more shots & beer there, even a little garden goodness.I suppose the strangest thing was a group of "stars" that moved across the SW to NE horizon. One, then another until about 20 were filling the horizon and kept going, like a train, one after the other. In order, until the horizon was full. Like a train or an ant path. I guessed maybe 50 from horizon to horizon moving NE until gone over 5 minutes. Transfixed with drink and smoke, we couldn't take a picture or even tell anyone. (There is an explanation but I'll leave it for now and the reader to guess *.)Anyway, folks rode to Tom Mix Museum, Price Tower, Woolarc, Twisted Oz MC Museum, etc. Sorry posting photos too hard. * OK, Elon Musk Sky Link (from horizon to horizon for 5 minutes until 60 satellite had passed) (and we were ripped in the first place)
