  1. Joel fixed the Veglia Speedo on my V11 Sport. Still working.
  2. It's sorta perplexing, usually lean condition runs hot but usually give more power. In your case we were running rich, lost power but running really hot? I guess I'm in a constant state of mechanical confusion regarding understanding the IC engine. But you're saying there were no leak in the pipe that burned your saddlebag and were running rich as well?
  3. Glad you were able to figure it out.
  4. So Paul, assume you made it home on the "hot" Norge?
  5. I think Leroy was the only Spiney that made it. I took my Duc. Report to follow. I saw friends I hadn't seen in a couple of years. It was the Wild Guzzi Rally in the Kansas Flint Hills. I took my travel trailer and the Supersport. A couple of the guys own Ducs, one a '90s vintage SS. Big sky country. Steep but gentle hills. We had catered, pot luck Thurs-Fri and a fish fry on Saturday. About 60 folks from as far away as Cali, KY and WI. And all the neighboring states. The wind blew like hell. Temps went from the high 40s to the mid 80s. Hot and very cold wind. Most of us had our shots and a few more shots & beer there, even a little garden goodness.I suppose the strangest thing was a group of "stars" that moved across the SW to NE horizon. One, then another until about 20 were filling the horizon and kept going, like a train, one after the other. In order, until the horizon was full. Like a train or an ant path. I guessed maybe 50 from horizon to horizon moving NE until gone over 5 minutes. Transfixed with drink and smoke, we couldn't take a picture or even tell anyone. (There is an explanation but I'll leave it for now and the reader to guess *.)Anyway, folks rode to Tom Mix Museum, Price Tower, Woolarc, Twisted Oz MC Museum, etc. Sorry posting photos too hard. * OK, Elon Musk Sky Link (from horizon to horizon for 5 minutes until 60 satellite had passed) (and we were ripped in the first place)
  6. Speaking of hurting did you Quartararo at the Moto GP yesterday? He was leading the race going away and then faded to 13th during the last few laps. All due to arm pump.
  7. My issue isn't so much when I ride. Only sometimes when I use the turn signal. Instead, I've just worn down the saddle bone at thumb joint. She's given me exercises and thumb supports that should strengthen the joint and help the saddle bone get back into place. It's helped quite a bit. She mentioned that it actually makes sense not to over do it. The amount of pressure on your fingers gets multiplied 10 fold at the joints. So all the macho stuff, opening every bottle cap and twisting every hard to open jar will eventually cause the joints to wear. I was always the go-to person to open stuff with my hands. Don't do it, get an opener and save your hands. There's a reason it's my left thumb, that's the one I twist with. I'd say I'm 60% better just after a couple of weeks. It's been strange, I've gotten these aches and pains in the last few months. There is arthritis in my family, so I've always been a little aware to get proactive. No need to let it linger if all you need is some special stretching or a few minutes of special exercise. Just don't just reply on the internet, you might do something that may make it worse. See a professional PT, and follow up, the PT might have to change it up for the same reason.
  8. I thought I'd provide a follow up. The leg stretches have worked well. Instead of frequent charlie horses, I may get one a week and can usually stretch it while lying down. The B12 didn't seem to help. So I have good days and slow days working out. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I've also gotten a few more aches and pains. Right achilles, Right Hip, back and left thumb. Since a riding buddy is a physical therapist, he did a couple of checks, told me to get an xray on the hip (which barely hurts BTW, only a slight "tinge" on occasion). Well, that lead me down a rabbit hole. The therapy for the hip, and achilles is pretty easy, can't tell if it's helping much but neither hurt much in the first place. But the Xray revealed some type of lesion that lead to an MRI. After the MRI, I get a referral to a surgeon! Now, I am really sweating it for a couple of weeks, thinking I might have a tumor. My GP says that the surgeon removes lots of benign growths- I don't find that answer comforting at all. OK, so I finally see the surgeon. She said I'm fine. I have an old injury that broke off a piece of bone and muscle about an inch and half long. Wheeeew! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> In so far as my thumb. That was nagging me the most. My PT riding buddy had me go to another PT. She made a custom "splint" for me. Gave me several hand exercises. It's helped a lot but still can nag me at odd times. BTW- DON'T squeeze a ball if you have thumb pain.
  9. It's my experience that when the sidestand switch fails, the default is to run, not stop the bike. At least that's the situation for both my Guzzis.
  10. Oh so sorry. I was just relaying a trip I made several years ago on the 4th of July. Yes, I did have dinner at Alice's. The little Mini was a fun drive. I live in Okla City.
  11. Spent 4th July in San Fran and did that drive in a rented Mini Turbo stick. But stayed the night in an motel on the beach near Ft Bragg, went all the way to Leggett, drove in the tree tunnel, and back through Willets and Clear Lake and 2nd night in Napa. Then Robert Mondavi winery and back down to Monterrey, next couple days to Big Sur and tourist-ing. Alice's Rest on the way back. Memorable trip. No Bike but about as close. Mini was a fun runner and had all my luggage. Early morning flight, saw a midnight movie in San Mateo, dropped of the car and rested in the empty airport. Not sure I'd done anything differently. still have the Haight Tshirt I've never understood why anyone backs the bike in a narrow spot while you can ride in and back out into an open space?
  12. dang Pyro Dan.
  13. Mine does that when low on fuel. Really.
  14. saw 'em play it twice. Never saw Hendrix.
  15. The linked brakes work well on my EV. I was skeptical of the whole set up but it only took a ride for me to like the way it all worked, even the floorboards and "nub". It just feels right for what it is.
  16. I know twin brothers that bought a TR-7 together. I don't they were ever so close thereafter. I can't blame the car for sure but it was the car.
  17. Rocker met me on that bike, it was gorgeous. It had paint mile deep black. Rocker could corner it better that I could on my Bandit. Glad you kept track of it Chuck.
  18. Just for the few that aren't on Wild. Dusty's Rally in Cedar Vale KS is coming up. At least one guy from TN-NC wants a riding buddy. https://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=102664.0
  19. Docc, maybe that's why I've been playing musical relays?
  20. Just check out Pyro Dan. He knows.
  21. Similar thing for my EV (as I mentioned). The gasket was upside down on the silly spacer. Oil light went off when it was revved but stayed on at low rpm. That's when I was learning to service the bike 10+ years ago. That's not an issue with these motors. I didn't know it was a CARC thing too- I'd bet that was Darren's deal rather than 20-50 oil.
