Ahhh Beemers are ugly and slow. Go ahead. Probably wouldn't be any worse.

Yeah, I could murder out my Greenie with flat black paint...............maybe I could wrap the exhaust with asbestos tape too. Might put knobbies on it. Then I'd lower to the ground. Man, would that be cool.

I hope those bikes were pretty well trashed before they were "customized".

It's been so long ago since I ordered it, I'd forgotten the details about it.

My goodness. They did send me the alt cover. I have to admit that it's a pretty piece, smooth clear coat, solid thick and light as carbon fiber. I think it is a carbon fiber sandwich over fiberglass real carbon fiber. It even matches the carbon weave on the Guzzi headlight fairing. I suppose that I shouldn't brag until I try to install it but looks gorgeous out of the box. (I wonder if they make Ducati parts?) It only took them 4 months but they did deliver.

don't plug the petcock plug into the fuel level sensor. It'll burn the sensor up.

Speed Cams in Germany
LowRyter replied to Bill Hagan's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
We have a tradition of "flashing lights" to oncoming traffic when sighting a speed trap. I remember years ago that the Highway Patrol (Texas?) was ticketing the flashers. How could that be wrong when they're only alerting traffic of road hazards ahead and reminding folks not to speed but to follow the law? I still flash. It would be interesting to see what a lawyer might say about that, particularly with prosecutorial experience. -
Well just another story how I am dangerous with tools. I decided I'd spend $4 whole dollars and purchase a new set of feeler gauges at HF. So I got the old gauge out to actually compare it to the new one, when I realized that old gauge was fine, but another feeler was stuck on the bottom of the one I was using. So rather than measure .020 + .019, I was adding another .018. Man it was really stuck. Probably should shoot some WD40 in 'em. So now I wasted $4 (Guzzi content). I should've kept my receipt. Just glad I didn't bugger $75 worth of spark plugs (iridium).

What the hell was that?

Miles' "Kind of Blue" is my favorite jazz record from 1959. In 1970 Miles invented fusion with "Bitches Brew" after seeing Hendrix. Miles added electric bass and electric guitar and lots of rhythm to his music. This spawned Herbie Hancock, Weather Report, Mahivishnu, Larry Coryell, Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, etc, etc. I recently saw documentaries on Miles and Jeff Beck. So if Miles was trying to be Jimi Hendrix with "Bitches Brew", was Jeff Beck trying to be Mile Davis after hearing "Jack Johnson"? Only two cuts on the full album, A side and B side. I just discovered this after watching the Jeff Beck doc. After hearing it, I think it's perhaps the very best of the fusion genre, at least Mile's "Right Off".

Well "shhheeee-it". But I'm not buying more drinks. (Guzzi content)

I did edit my post. But yeah, being the "flat lander", I had a bit between my teeth to catch those Tennessee boys that were making a break. And yeah, I didn't get past you for two (or ten) miles. Despite being pretty stupid of me since the sun and shadows were near blinding me. You're good sport and have a great sense of humor (as I intended). (Next drink is on me)

Changed it Docc. I was too mean. (you're a nice guy)

They are certainly more elegant and functional than the stock Suzuki mirrors.
-
My stock mirrors work great on my Suzuki 1200 Bandit.
-
So far as mirrors go, the Lane Splitters were worn out, the little springing mechanism gave out and the mirrors would blow back against the wind at speed. Typical of those mirrors. So I found some mirrors on EBay. They were about $25 (Guzzi content) and made from aluminum. Had a great style like $150 Rizoma mirrors, the glass has a little blue tint. They look and work great. (Much better than what Ducati calls as mirrors).

ACs came out, ACs went in. Iridium (delirium?), $9 ea. I assume the old plugs were OEM, since they're "good" for 100k miles. Car was running doggy in top gear, felt like a typical ignition fault, (wire or plug). So I did one side of the engine and discovered one burned plug and had "aha" moment and drove it. It seemed a little better but I was only lugging it in town, not on the highway. Then I did the other side and found three of the four were burned. After replacement, the car does indeed run better. First I checked the air filter and it was really clean. Then I inspected the MAF and took out the throttle body which was also quite clean. So then I bit the bullet (Guzzi content) and paid $150 for wires and plugs. Anyway, I can't trace the lineage of AC part numbers. (sorry about the thread drift)

Docc, sorry your bike broke down and you had to trailer it. I should be more sensitive.

Those might be functional but...............

Well now there's more. I changed out the plugs on the 'vette and half of them had burned the bottom electrode off. No wonder I felt an ignition skip when I was in high gear. These are supposed to be 100k miles with only 75k on them. The replacement plugs were a different part number. Advance Auto parts says the old part DOES NOT fit my car. <shrug> I am very tempted to post WTF. (just joking)

That's great riding weather. (if my Fahrenheit conversion is accurate) I'd love to make that ride.
