  1. Darren and I haven't got tickets yet but we're planning to be in T1 grandstands with another Guzzi rider (MJP on Wild). T18-19 are right at the ticket booth entrance. That little complex is where all the wrecks happen. I remember seeing Marquez flung off there the first year during practice. we'll try to figure out some kind of meet-up or dinner. Perhaps BBQ at Kreitz or Blacks down in Lockhart on Saturday before the Hand Built show?
  2. The Wit and Wisdom of Mr Roper
  3. I thought I'd bump this and see who else is going?
  4. My experience, the relays will "click" when going out, not screech.
  5. reseat the neutral connector. make sure it's not loose. wiggle it with your fingers. don't ask how I know. could the screeching be the fuel pump?
  6. there are different "adventures"
  7. Agree with you Marty. I wish we had learned our lesson in the USA
  8. go with red. better to contrast rather than mismatch clash
  9. Good luck with the paint. But yellow looks good with gray. It might be fun to try it, particularly if you have some yellow accents, like calipers or trim. I'd like to see what it looks like in yellow on your bike,

  11. I am interested to see the results. The spineys could use a little more kick in the top end and maybe a little more rev range.
  12. Actually the body work fit like a glove and came off easily despite being flimsy. By comparison, my half naked Suzuki Bandit is much worse in the tupperware dept. My issue with Supersport is that it feels slow but goes fast. I think it's a tad overgeared and am going with a smaller front sprocket. Anyway, it needs a shot of something to liven it up. It needs to "feel" as fast at it looks.
  13. If you have a redframe bike, you should get the brace. Better to do it before the gearbox housing cracks, not after. Contact Don at Motiv at the website listed. He's a Guzzi dealer now.
  14. Might try some Seafoam? The large economy size.
  15. electronics? A bike that shows time & temperature & date? coolant temperature? miles per gallon? miles until fill up? Sport, Touring and Urban mode?, ABS Setting? Traction control setting? Miles odo, Trip 1 and 2? Gear? Fuel level (didn't know how to find it until I wrote this)? Trip time? Lap time? Average Speed? Several separate and various maintenance & service warnings? PIN code? Lights? ABS lights? Other unknown lights? Menus for dash backlight, Modes to adjust for tire and gear ratio changes, and many more deals that can be done with a three buttons and multi screen? Oh and RPM and Speed too. Maybe 176 pages out of 320 pages of the owner's manual that gets as technical as unlatching the fairing and tupperware. That kind of electronics? really
  16. Wait a minute..... that bike looks "different". Someone is trying to put something over on us.
  17. "Because the engine convinces even in the very low speed range with unimaginable sophistication, thanks to well-tuned electronics can also be untertourig "noodled" and then offers just from around 3500 to 7000 tours not only a reasonable punch but also pleased with a really robust sound." "
  18. yeah Swoosh, probably bid over the ask.
  19. I am guessing it's a late model small block with the BRAT treatment.
  20. the valve cover gaskets leak on mine all the time. I blame the mechanic. (in fact, I try to carry a spare when I travel)
  21. what about a weak regulator? (spit balling it)
  22. Looks like we worked it out. We intend to get Duc Island tickets in T1 (includes lunch, parking, zip line, swag, pace lap for my Duc). That's a $30-50 premium over seat + parking. Consider there's no food or drink allowed and the prices for concessions are through the moon- ready parking to the bike stash is worth it alone. For now, Mike in Austin, Darren and I will be in Duc Isl. Darren and I are staying at the Rodeway, the only cheap motel in town (BTW- stay away from Motel 6).
  23. Who in the hell is Roger and what is a star-picket? Man, if you can't speak Amuricun at least speak English.
  24. Pete, that's a little unclear. I'd like your unvarnished opinion about it. Don't hold back,
  25. I may divorce Darren over this.
