  1. If it rattles, that means the counterweight has come loose. And just won't show RPMs. I took mine apart with a hose clamp and filed down paint can opener. It was tougher getting it back on after I got it off. I just epoxied the weight back on. If it is showing consistent but wrong readings and doesn't rattle, I'd look at electronics causes as mentioned above.
  2. Just got back yesterday, Great time.
  3. Saturday forecast is for rain in the morning and clearing during the day. Cooler weather. It should be clear for BBQ dinner
  4. I've been successful once. That's when the filter backed off and lost pressure. I tried to use the manhole for my first oil change and kept cross threading it attempting to reinstall it. Subsequently, I took the pan off.
  5. wish I'd known you a couple years ago
  6. Info about Black's https://www.blacksbbq.com/lockhart.html They've been all over cable on various travel and food stations
  7. Motiv repaired the case on mine, that's when Don made the brace kit. He took the case to a powder coater and left in the oven for a several days. Then he did the grind and weld. I would think that a reputable shop could do it. When mine was fixed, I didn't have a choice as I couldn't find a replacement case. So far it's held up for nearly two years and I would guess 6k to 10k miles.
  8. docc- I think $8 -12 for (shorty) beer. You can get *free* water to fill your bottle. I went to first day of first Moto GP and they took a 5 year old's PP&J. The kid was on special diet. True. You can bring anything into Barber: booze, food, contraband. I've camped there 3 times. I think they were doing drunken motorcycle jousting one night -at least I was told, I have no memory of it.
  9. Darren and me will be in Sec 4 turn 1 grandstands. Mike in Austin is one row back. There are still T1 tickets on Vivid, I just checked- discounted. COTA pretty well sux doing tickets and hospitality. Paul, PM with cell, we'll work it out.
  10. Darren and I haven't got tickets yet but we're planning to be in T1 grandstands with another Guzzi rider (MJP on Wild). T18-19 are right at the ticket booth entrance. That little complex is where all the wrecks happen. I remember seeing Marquez flung off there the first year during practice. we'll try to figure out some kind of meet-up or dinner. Perhaps BBQ at Kreitz or Blacks down in Lockhart on Saturday before the Hand Built show?

  12. I thought I'd bump this and see who else is going?
  13. My experience, the relays will "click" when going out, not screech.
  14. reseat the neutral connector. make sure it's not loose. wiggle it with your fingers. don't ask how I know. could the screeching be the fuel pump?
  15. there are different "adventures"
  16. Agree with you Marty. I wish we had learned our lesson in the USA
  17. go with red. better to contrast rather than mismatch clash
  18. Good luck with the paint. But yellow looks good with gray. It might be fun to try it, particularly if you have some yellow accents, like calipers or trim. I'd like to see what it looks like in yellow on your bike,

  20. I am interested to see the results. The spineys could use a little more kick in the top end and maybe a little more rev range.
  21. Actually the body work fit like a glove and came off easily despite being flimsy. By comparison, my half naked Suzuki Bandit is much worse in the tupperware dept. My issue with Supersport is that it feels slow but goes fast. I think it's a tad overgeared and am going with a smaller front sprocket. Anyway, it needs a shot of something to liven it up. It needs to "feel" as fast at it looks.
  22. If you have a redframe bike, you should get the brace. Better to do it before the gearbox housing cracks, not after. Contact Don at Motiv at the website listed. He's a Guzzi dealer now.
  23. Might try some Seafoam? The large economy size.
