  1. Got the bike picked up today for service. I'll report the bad news as it comes.
  2. I hope to go to COTA. I'm prepping the Duc and hope to get the Greenie in the shop in the next day or two. So far as LM? Well, I'm not a fan given to how they were complicit to deny Andretti an F1 slot. The entire F1 sport seems corrupt and inept. The latest is a harassment claim against Christian Horner.
  3. Hopefully they'll pass it in Colo unlike Texas where it failed with no support in the Lege. It just shows how little practical knowledge is out there. I suppose that I can't blame legislators that don't ride but there should be professionals from the Dept of Public Safety that should know better and advise. Hopefully Colorado will do a better job.
  4. What a race. This track is so good. It makes me think that Barber would be a great venue. I actually feel bad for Mav and Marc. We figured that Marquez would be a net negative on the entire Ducati GP effort. Even though I think Peco was at fault (it was a racing incident IMO, not intentional), I think the fireworks are just starting. Let's not forget Martin, who's itching for a factory ride. The announcer said that Acosta thought the GP riders were too buddy-buddy and the sport needed rivalries. Well, here we go. This Acosta kid is really good, like a young Stoner, Rossi, Marquez. Incredible bike control. I really wanna go to COTA just to see him ride T17-19.
  5. this track is the most entertaining in the entire series.

  7. Audi owns Ducati.
  8. On a long trip, particularly on straight roads like interstates, cruise comes in handy to rest your hand and wrist. Usually just for a few minutes. Many of us have throttle locks for the same purpose.
  9. If you have the MAX App (HBO). You can watch the entire weekend, all classes and practice, quals, print & feature.
  10. OK, I finally figured out MAX and have all those added to my favorites. Great stuff.
  11. The only spot I see that's available for Moto GP is Tru TV at noon - 2:00 central. All they have listed TBA at those times. @GuzziMoto
  12. Still no info whether CNBC will broadcast?
  13. Thanks for your thoughts @PJPR01 Paul. My status is up and down lately.
  14. I haven't been to Dusty's in a couple of years. He wrote me this might be the last spring Guzzi Rally. The old Guzzi guys aren't getting any younger. Covid, WG, and social differences have had an impact too. If you want to see some of the old crowd at one time, this could be it. Not sure I'll have my Greenie out of the shop or even know my status up from down to be there. Looks like Paul is all in. Leroy too. My last go around, we saw Elon's 60 satellites in the sky and thought the aliens were here. Paul's bike was running hot. Wes pulled the rear of his Cali following my Duc at 100+ after returning from Marland mansion. There's the OZ motorcycle museum, the Pioneer woman's ranch, Phillips museum and the Flowers of the Killer Moon. The big deal, Dusty fries catfish on Sat night.
  15. I didn't think it would be hot with the key off.
  16. It's too late, I've burned up the bike. I'm now a former V11 rider. I took off the starter. Unfortunately, I only unhooked the battery ground. The hot starter wire grounded on the shock adjuster when I was working on it. I smelled fire and got it free but too late. The electrics are dead. Totally. Fuses are ok but there's melted insulation under the side cover. So far as the shifter, I was able to get the adjuster off and backed it with an allen head and tighten it. Have no idea about that. Believe me, I'm sick about it.
  17. OK, I've gotten this, with the starter hanging. What I noticed is that the pivot nut (about 2 o'clock from the red circle) is loose as hech with a lot of play. It appears the nut screws into a pin that attached the adjustable screw arm to the pivot arm below. The problem I'm having, the pin just turns with the nut and there's nothing to garb on the back of the pin. The only way to get behind it is move the lever in the upshift position but there is still nothing to grab the back since it seems to be a smooth pinhead. Perhaps it's supposed to have this much slack? and I should mess with something else? OK, looking at Harper's diagram, I see it's a screw and appears to be an allen head. So perhaps I can get an all wrench to hold it while I tighten the nut?
  18. Actually, I think Marc's aggressive style has pretty much infected the most of the field. Lot's more blocking and contact now. Frankly, Rossi wasn't known to passive either. I think it's perhaps gone to far and we see more riders calling it out. Dorna has itself to blame for it, because they've ran interference for the fellow countryman. But '15 was way beyond the pale. Allowing Marc for get away with that and penalizing Rossi, I think that has remained a divisive effect in the paddock. One might remember that the field parted on the last race of '15 to let Rossi through. That's a sign of respect not often displayed.
  19. I admire Marc's talent and his brave come back from injury. I'll cheer for him as a competitor and a contender but it will take a lot more for me to want to see him champion again. What he got away with 2015 ruined the season and ruined the goodwill I had for the guy. If he has a good season and contends for the title, I'm sure that one of the manufacturers will offer him an attractive package. Likely not Ducati unless he wins the title for them against a competitor on another brand of bike.
  20. My brother is on his 2nd one. The first one lunched the timing chain at 70k. That's after a couple of stick coils and few other "things". He liked the bike so much, he just bought another.
  21. I thinking this is beyond what I might do on the garage floor. I don't want to ride it, so to prevent further damage. I might be able to get to the shop in a month or so once the wife is mobile. Thanks for your help. I'll let you all know how it shakes out.
  22. Phil I have the extender on there. @Lucky Phil
  23. frankly, that was my fear. Could you describe accessing the "stop adjuster"?
  24. OK, my bones get a little tired laying on the driveway. Given that, it's good to have a game plan rather than me spitballing it. So my next dumb question regarding the linkage. If I do need to adjust the linkage, since the bike seems to skip over the upshift, I would assume that I should reduce the angle or travel on the mechanism?
