  1. Yea, it is true! I have picked up more nail or screw punctures in the first 500 miles of both new car and motorcycle tires than I care to recount. Being the cheapskate that I am, I probably would have still demounted yours and put a mushroom plug from the inside and used it for a few thousand miles. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  2. ...not to mention a great machine shop. Pretty sweet bike though! Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  3. What a beautiful bike! No wonder you've kept it all these years. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  4. Where is Luke's bike listed? Can't seem to find it. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  5. I bolted mine to the concrete slab - only way to be 100% sure. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  6. Yes, it's an ESR515, which is available in two wire connection configurations for the V11 (pre 2003, and 2003+). I showed the wiring connector differences for pre and post 2003 models about a dozen or so posts above should you be interested. I did apply some dialectic grease after making the connections, so hopefully protected for a while anyway. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  7. Have been meaning to post this for a couple weeks, and seems like a good follow-up to Kiwi_Roy's post above. I made the ground from my new ElectroSport unit as shown. I believe the wire is 14 ga., and I did sand off the paint at the connection point. Please note this photo is taken from below looking up - the wires aren't really visible from standing position. Lemans Decals

What they stock is one thing (I'm amazed they even had one Scura decal in stock). But as with many parts for Guzzis, Ducatis, etc., they may have to be ordered from Italy. All the decals have part numbers, so Harper's should be able to tell you if they can be ordered. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

    Lemans Decals

I think you can still order them through a dealer. If you go to Harper's Moto Guzzi website, they have a parts fiche available online and the decals are listed. Also, MG Cycle has some decals available. Both are located in the US. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  11. ...to add to Kiwi_Roy's post, the rep from ElectroSport who set up my regulator with the correct connectors tied off the small black ground wire so it is not used. He said to make sure the connection at the case to the bracket was clean and tight as that makes a better ground. That said, I'm going to attach a heavy gauge wire from under the regulator fastener washer to a timing case bolt as Kiwi_Roy recommends. A guaranteed ground for 10 minutes worth of work - why not? 13. Replied to both - perhaps there's a delay? Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  14. Mistral Crossover 99-02 V11 Sport & Le Mans w/ NO lambda port. Used but in very good condition. $350 new at MG Cycle, yours for half that: $175 plus shipping (from New Jersey, USA). Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  15. Manufacturers go through different phases - often times choosing less desirable routes just to survive. We all love the glory days of Guzzi and MV legends of the 50s - 70s. But I'm also glad they are still here today (unlike Laverda and others). I don't think the current state for either marque is the final one, and am hopeful for more glory days for both. 16. In case you didn't see this - a very nice letter from MV Agusta to Moto Guzzi commemorating their 100 years. Great stuff. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  17. Ok, here is the reply from ElectroSport regarding charging and an extra ground: "You do not need to disconnect the reg/rect when charging. I suppose an additional ground might be helpful, I cannot see how it could hurt in any way, so it is a good idea. But I would not say it is required. Every reg/rect could benefit from additional ground connections but in most cases it would make no difference." 18. Forgot about that. I'm going to send that screenshot to my contact at ElectroSport and see what he says - will report back. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  19. Great - thank you for the info Docc. I wish I measured again at idle after the ride, I gotta believe it would have been higher than the 13.28. I'll definitely measure the voltage while it's on the charger and keep an eye on it. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks Docc. Yes, it's a PC545, approximately 5 years old according to the previous owner. I did in fact get a reading on the battery at idle: 13.28v (before I went for the ride). I use the attached 7.5amp Duracell charger. It was recommended by an old-timer at Batteries+ who said he was very familiar with the PC545. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  21. I'll top off the Odyssey on the charger and see what reading I get, and then keep an eye on it after rides. I don't know if draining it down so low on that fateful ride home had any negative affect on it (no pun intended). I did charge it for 48 hours after I got it home that day. 22. Once again the sage advice from this forum has saved me countless hours and probably some $$$. 3 weekends ago while riding my 03 Le Mans home I experienced fading dash lights, followed by a dying tach, and 5 miles later a backfiring engine. Didn't quite make it home. After checking the fuses, testing the Omrons, and then the alternator (thanks to all contributors in this topic!), it was clear that it was likely the regulator/rectifier. I placed my order with ElectroSport. But here's where I can make a small contribution - the Guzzi OEM regulator/rectifier changed in early 03, and has different connectors and no low voltage warning light (see attached photos from MG Cycle website). I sent these photos to Kyle at ElectroSport and followed up with a call. Their 03 version did not come with these connectors stock, but he was happy to modify it for me, and also tie-off the accessory wires for the warning light. So it was 100% plug and play when it arrived. I installed it Saturday and after a 90 miles ride my Odyssey battery measured 12.63v - seems all is good. Thanks again to everyone for making this a simple repair! Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

  25. ...on my 03 Le Mans, rear of transmission. Any idea what this is for? Assuming I should pump some grease into it - no? Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
