Ok, here is the reply from ElectroSport regarding charging and an extra ground: "You do not need to disconnect the reg/rect when charging. I suppose an additional ground might be helpful, I cannot see how it could hurt in any way, so it is a good idea. But I would not say it is required. Every reg/rect could benefit from additional ground connections but in most cases it would make no difference." Forgot about that. I'm going to send that screenshot to my contact at ElectroSport and see what he says - will report back. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

Great - thank you for the info Docc. I wish I measured again at idle after the ride, I gotta believe it would have been higher than the 13.28. I'll definitely measure the voltage while it's on the charger and keep an eye on it. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

Thanks Docc. Yes, it's a PC545, approximately 5 years old according to the previous owner. I did in fact get a reading on the battery at idle: 13.28v (before I went for the ride). I use the attached 7.5amp Duracell charger. It was recommended by an old-timer at Batteries+ who said he was very familiar with the PC545. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

I'll top off the Odyssey on the charger and see what reading I get, and then keep an eye on it after rides. I don't know if draining it down so low on that fateful ride home had any negative affect on it (no pun intended). I did charge it for 48 hours after I got it home that day. Once again the sage advice from this forum has saved me countless hours and probably some $$$. 3 weekends ago while riding my 03 Le Mans home I experienced fading dash lights, followed by a dying tach, and 5 miles later a backfiring engine. Didn't quite make it home. After checking the fuses, testing the Omrons, and then the alternator (thanks to all contributors in this topic!), it was clear that it was likely the regulator/rectifier. I placed my order with ElectroSport. But here's where I can make a small contribution - the Guzzi OEM regulator/rectifier changed in early 03, and has different connectors and no low voltage warning light (see attached photos from MG Cycle website). I sent these photos to Kyle at ElectroSport and followed up with a call. Their 03 version did not come with these connectors stock, but he was happy to modify it for me, and also tie-off the accessory wires for the warning light. So it was 100% plug and play when it arrived. I installed it Saturday and after a 90 miles ride my Odyssey battery measured 12.63v - seems all is good. Thanks again to everyone for making this a simple repair! Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

...on my 03 Le Mans, rear of transmission. Any idea what this is for? Assuming I should pump some grease into it - no? Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

Moto Guzzi V100 Sport Tourer: water cooled, 120 HP (26th of August 2021)

I like many things about the new V100, and glad Guzzi is producing a sport touring bike. That said, and coincidentally, Triumph just released their new Speed Triple. All things considered, it's hard not to lean towards this option between the two. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk -

I didn't see anyone had posted this V100 Mandello release video yet, apologies if it's a repeat - I just received it this evening: Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk -

The 2017 Ducati Supersport S I bought last year came with Pirelli Angel GT2 tires with only 600 miles on them. I went on a 1600 mile tour in West Virginia and Kentucky (mostly twisty roads). I was pretty shocked to see the high amount of scalloping that had developed by day 2. Mind you, I checked my tire pressure every morning (34 front / 37 rear). By the end of the trip they were squared off and scalloped - basically done after less than 2500 miles. Grip is great in hot weather, but falls off significantly below 50°F. Never again will I buy Pirelli for sport touring (although they make great tires for the track). My V11 LeMans (and VFR800 before that) have Dunlop Roadsmart 3s, and I couldn't be happier with them. The dual compound offers great corner grip, and excellent even wear and durability. A+ in my book. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

I was able to get a standard grease gun fitting on the front nipple on my '03 Le Mans. Was not able to bend the hose successfully through the obvious direct path, but when I routed it through a crevice over the top it was easier. I had to use a pair of pliers to push it down onto the nipple once aligned. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

Andy, did you ever get the chance to take a better photo to share? Thanks. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

Finished the Mistral headers and crossovers install (already had the carbon slip-ons). Was a bit more involved than expected, but not too bad. Had to destroy the stock headers to remove the flanges [emoji3525], so one less OEM part available for those in need. But I have the stock cross-overs if anyone is interested. I was surprised with how much it changed the sound. Sounded good before, but magnificent now! [emoji854] Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

But this was a surprise. The header flange is installed before welding the pipe together. Need to cut the pipe to remove it. One would think MG Cycle would mention this and suggest purchasing an extra pair. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

Doh! Nevermind. It was coming loose but not rising up and out. Need to pry apart. Sorry for the false alarm. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

Ok, so both the top and bottom bolt here turn counterclockwise independently, but go nowhere. Trying to remove crossover to swap for Mistrals. Did this on my Scura a few years ago and don't recall this one. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
