Need help from LeMans and/or Tenni Owners
Welshguzzi replied to FalcoLion's topic in Technical Topics
I got those rubber mounted nuts from Gutsibits here in the UK, so I'm guessing they're available in the States as well......... -
I'm reluctant to hijack this thread, but a comment above has aroused my suspicions: it's to do with positioning of the air temperature sensor. My Le Mans gets spitty and unfriendly when it's hot, and won't idle. Could this be related to the temp sensor? (Standard air box and tappets recently set) And my apologies for sneaking this in!
-
Question: will they look better with the tank on?
-
Has anyone had any experience with Jofama tail bags? They look ok, but looks can deceive...........
-
Hi Rob! How's yer bits? I too might be interested in one of these - perhaps get 2 and save on shipping? However, it largely depends upon whether Mrs Welshguzzi gets a job soon :-(
-
Which model did you fit? I'm guessing it was one of these? http://www.jwspeaker.com/products/led-headlights-model-8700-evolution-2/ And what sort of price are we talking?
-
So why not reduce to even smaller clearances...........? Just asking
-
Ambient temperatures are variable - Sweden in winter or North Australia in summer? Could be different by 50 Celsius
-
I think the later ones are different, but I'm only going on second-hand knowledge, so apologies if I'm feeding you misinformation!
-
I believe that the Alfa part is only compatible with certain years, so it might be a good idea to check before shelling out your spondulies
-
Well, I was going to say, but I'm just too polite! (Ya bonehead........)
-
Well said! I've rebuilt a bevel drive 900SS, but would now find tackling a V11 clutch a real challenge, partly due to the physical size of it, but also for all the reasons you have described.
-
How come your bike is so pristine, like? I smell Photoshop......... ;-)
-
Hi Lamedog, Which handlebar risers have you fitted? I'm considering Apex when the money is available
-
And Maxton do excellent fork re-valving as well, by all accounts (if you're in the money! )
-
Bennetts. £147 (on account of my car being nicked 18 months ago) but this includes full RAC cover as well
-
Apparently Maxton can do a superb job of re-valving/springing for around £600. Maybe worth considering? I'd do it if I had the cash probably

Well, its for sale anyway! More than happy to ride the bike with standard kit but if anybody wants it, it's yours for £95 -

Weeeellllll, here we go. Where do I start? First of all, I've got a PClll for sale. A miraculous change came about once I unplugged it and went straight to the ECU. Apart from a slight fluffiness around 3000 rpm, the bike is running beautifully. The big power lumps in at circa 5000 rpm, all the vibes have just about disappeared in the handle bars and it ticks over contentedly at 1100 rpm, although it coughs a bit when it's hot. Me? I'm just smiling! Guzzi is back in the room. A big thanks to all for your help (I'd still like to know how to wire in that LED, Roy). Happy days! -

Just a quick question about valve clearances: I know that there's some debate about what is best and that there is some discrepancy between the factory recommended and ?Raceco?. What are people using? In millimetres if possible! -

Ah yes, the relays: all new from Pyro Dan, so they should be good. I've tried to eliminate all the usual suspects so far. -

As far as I can tell, there are no air box mods, and the exhausts are stock, so the set up with the PC must be pretty standard. Not sure if there is any advantage in having one fitted......... -

I didn't realise that you could just unplug it - my last bike was built in 1980 and the only electronic device was the ignition - FI and ECU's are a whole new world! Carbs are so easy to fix without a multimeter and software........... -

Hard to describe exactly, Bjorn. The only way I can describe it is as if I had eased off the throttle a quarter turn, very briefly, and without warning.
