  1. You have that bike so highly polished it took me a while to see the rear cowl. All I could see was the reflection of the rafters ! Looks great !
  2. Very sharp ! I like the graphite colour. Could you post a pic of the rear light & tail tidy ?
  3. Thanks. Sheet metal work is still Alchemy to me !
  4. I thought that was Mr Hagan for a minute !
  5. Beating a Dead horse here.... My bike had a vibration from 3500 through 4500. After the Spine Raid when those helpful lads re-set the TPS, set the CO to 0 & balanced the TB's. The valves I had worked on. The vibration was a mere shadow of the beast it was before.
  6. Chuck, I have to ask; 'A couple of body hammers, homemade English panel beater's hammer for shrinking bumps, and a shrinking file, which is used as a hammer for shrinking.' How do you use them ?
  7. The Date would have to work around some of the other rallies going on I suppose. I was thinking of doing some scouting for a campground, around Marietta, or something like the Lodge with it's garage. That could be my summer project. Sisterville you say. I'll have to look into that.
  8. After getting to the SSR last Fall, I have daydreamed about putting together something similar centered around Marietta in Ohio. Have a look at the website http://www.motorcycleroads.com/Routes/Ohio_111.html And you'll see why Marietta. Had the chance to ride Rt 26 following a 1400 California couple of years ago when I was at the Guzzi Ohio Rally over Labor Day w/e. It blew my mind ! It was only topped when I got to the SSR recently. Anyway, just dreaming outloud.
  9. Cafe Sport - drool with desire emoji
  10. I owned a DB1 at one point. It was so small and compact that whilst riding you actually had no view of the bike at all, it was like scooting along a few feet off the ground suspended in mid air Thats what I thought about the DB4 i saw; it looked like it had been pared down to just what was needed
  11. You know I hadn't thought of that. It's more of an exotic than a BMW thou'. So does that count ?
  12. Stopped by the hardware store this evening & in the parking lot was a Bimota DB4. I've never seen one in the flesh & while I hopefully waited for the owner to appear I looked it over. Just loved the lines, the lack of clutter. The frame was purposeful looking. The welds beautifully executed. The wheels looked light with massive amounts of rubber. The suspension had an Ohlins on the rear & Pasoli (?) forks. The bike looked like it would be alot of fun to ride & learn how to get the best out of it. Judging by the 16 years of stickers on the plate, that's pretty much what this owner did. The owner never came out so I didn't get to hear it run.
  13. Sorry but that's Fugly.
  14. It makes a big difference with Guzzi's if the PO enjoys the tinkering or if they ignore the cries for attention. Can't blame you for getting the Le Mans. It looks gorgeous! Red is such an awesome colour for a Guzzi. Don't know why everyone's so excited about the 'alien invasion' green. This does leave me with a problem; a 2004 V11 within 10 miles.
  15. If it's Seoulmans ad, thats a nice looking bike.
  16. Now I understand the 'Shiny Mike' avatar. No there's nothing wrong with the bike that I could see; I would buy it myself if I had Scud's addition problems Just when you ride a Guzzi you get used to ' Who makes that bike ? Moto Guzzi. Never heard of them! Or Where do you get that serviced ?' You'll enjoy the tinkering / fettling !
  17. Hadn't thought of that. Later on I realised I hadn't looked in the transmission sight window to see if there was enough pink stuff. Mind you it was on the side stand so it would have been awkward to do. Hope I haven't scared Mike off.... is there room in my garage.........nevermind. And while you can Mike get one of Pete Roper's Sloppage plates. For peace of mind.
  18. Others on the forum will have to advise you on what's going on there. The shaft itself looked grubby with oil with no rust on the u joints. Hope this helps.
  19. Stopped by Maxxcycles today. Talked to the manager, Tom & he added said the previous owner was an engineer for the nearby Honda plant & was returning to Japan. Which explains the strict deadline in the e bay description. Mike if you are looking for a UJM that doesn't need work, you will be disappointed. This bike needs some cleaning up but nothing serious I currently believe. I heard it running as they moved it out of the showroom. It sounds fine ; the clutch is quieter than my V11. The forks show no signs of leaking. The brake disks are smooth & no grooves in them. The bodywork & paint looks good. It has a Ram gps holder. The bar end mirrors are small & probally need to be replaced. The bar ends look clean, not scratching. The odometer the manager told me they fixed. Take it for a ride to see if thats true. The mileage on the label indicated what was on the dial, didn't mention the additional mileage put on after the odometer stopped working, as noted in the e bay description. It did go down on the LH side, scratches to the head guard, muffler, sidestand & footpeg. See pic. It has some additional 'quick releases' fittings under the tank. The headers need some cleaning up & the alternator cover has lost alot of its paint. Where the shaft exits the gearbox there is evidence of an oil leak.
  20. Originally, this bike has one weak point. It is the life of shift return spring. After I had this problem, I replaced from original spring to the improved spring kit ( Made in Japan ). Please refer to attached pictures. This kit use coil spring with bearings for reduce spring stress. Already run 2 seasons without any problem. Odd meter did not operated from last season. because internal gear wear. Therefore, total milage will be 16500 miles and I included new meter and cable in this auction. Scud, you caught the 2 problems: ITI gauge & scratch on muffler ! I had wanted to talk to the owner to ask about this shift spring.
  21. Mike, That bike was on Craigslist here in Columbus. Guy was in Westerville. I wrote to him but didn't hear back. Maxxcycles is near my current job, I'm thinking I might stop by tomorrow & have a look for it . The bike is still on their website if anyone wants to look for pictures. Saturday I was in Cleveland and had a chance to get over to Cleveland Moto. They had alot of the new offerings of Guzzi's which I wanted to see. For the past few years they have supported the Ohio guzzi rally around Memorial Day. They will be able to help you out with your new machine. Let me know when you're coming down on Friday & maybe I can meet you there. Cheers
  22. Mike, Glad to hear you found a bike. Give us some more details; where's the Dealer ? I'm presuming it's a Ballabio. What are they asking for it ? Did they tell you about it's history or modifications ?
  23. You know this set-up has it's merits; deleting the speedo for a Beer holder : )
  24. That's sad news. Condolences to his Family.
