  1. Just was reminded by the Police officer that cars in the turn lane are not obliged to stop ! If he had rear ended me it would have been his fault, but he clipped me just ahead of the rear wheel. Oh well !
  2. Bill, You are right there are some great roads in the SE part of the State, but we're trying to keep that quiet. My plan, if no other Pratt drives into me, is drive down with bike in the Sprinter & use that as my tent for the trip.
  3. Ok I'll remember how to add pictures later
  4. I'm signaling and changing lanes in my Large white van & the ****head in the white car can't seem to brake enough at low speed to miss me !
  5. Thanks guys, Depending on work, I'm aiming to be there a day early, so I'll try that route Lowryter.
  6. So we are 3 weeks away from the 'Event'. Any of you regulars want to suggest some of your favorite rides/routes for a newbie ? Looking forward to the riding, allowing my V11 a chance to socialize & putting some faces to Avatars.
  7. For what it's worth, knowing that 'OldJock', a guzzi guru, lives relatively close in Glasgow, I Googled 'the tank shop', thinking he might be able to help out. Second entry was a request from a biker to the MCN forum 8 years ago saying he's not answered the phone for 3 weeks ! Some people are craftsmen first, business owners second.
  8. I'm looking forward to this ride more & more
  9. Harpers also have them
  10. Hey Rox, What's your review of the suspension re-make ?
  11. Great pictures !
  12. I'll be interested in watching you work through this, as I have the same issue. Take some pictures along the way.
  13. Anyone going that will split the cost of a room ?
  14. Riding in SW Ohio
  15. Thanks Kiwi-Roy. Scud, I did have a similar arrangement, with the connections under the seat, but wanted to clean up the wiring and lose something that I had to remember to disconnect. First good ride of Spring. Can't decide if after removing the cross-over the pipes sound louder or do I just have a exhaust leak
  16. I'm studying Carl Allison's schematic on the 2004 V11 & trying to decide to add into the low beam ( green/grey ) wire or the high beam (brown) at the connector by the headlight . Or should I be splicing in at the fuse block before the load line is divided? Yours Confused of Columbus
  17. Thanks
  18. I've had a USB port on my bike with connectors coming straight from the battery. However with the battery tender on there it's getting crowded & I thought I should hard wire it in. There is a 5amp fuse on the line already, but I'm not certain of the best place to draw power from? My thought was the headlight as thats physically close but doesn't that circuit regulate the battery charging? Advise for the 'electrically challenged' would be appreciated. Thanks
  19. So after following this thread I have an idea that I'll put out to you more computer savvy than me. We have a photo gallery, how hard would it be for say K99 to include a soundfile ? So we can all hear how sweet his exhayst is ?
  20. New Zealand is on my bucket list. I'm envious ! Have a great time.
  21. My wife's ( family ) car is a Pontiac Vibe which I am impressed with. I get to drive a diesel Sprinter Van. With a 12' bed and tall enough to stand up in, it's very comfortable hauling a bike. Scud you do clock up the miles!
  22. Chuck, I thought you were hoping to bring the Scura to Indiana ?
  23. Well, as some have observed, MG do on occasions have a look at what they have left on their storeroom shelves. Cobble a new version of a current model together and release it to the masses with a fancy paint job and new name.
  24. Docc & Kiwi-Roy, Winter is now here in Ohio, so I'm taking my bike apart to tweek, adjust and fiddle with, cos I'm not going to be riding for a few months. Give me your advice in basic terms for battery health. I was thinking ; leave the ignition on, which turns on the headlight, to drain the battery. Or discharge as you say. Though that makes me think of firing a gun, something dramatic like putting a wrench accross the terminals ! Taking the battery off the bike, as I'm working on it, and putting it on the battery charger on a trickle charge for the winter. How's that sound?
  25. With the 2004 there is adjustment with the fork caps and my weight fell within the range specifications. The forks needed fresh oil, the adjustment was out of balance and the hight of each leg was different above the tree. So just getting it back to specs improved things no end.
