  1. The ITI tach from my 2004 Naked died. So if you want the glass from it let me know. That is I'm assuming that's the brand of instrument you have.
  2. Mid Ohio Vintage Days is this coming weekend. Anyone going ?
  3. Just did the same job myself last w/e. You've got the block apart and there's a loose wire inside. KiwiRoy had a thread with pictures showing the , in my case black & green wire loose from one of the greens, looking closely I could see burn marks by the contact. It's tight working in there but I managed to re-solder the wire which cured the indicator light & instrument lights failing. As the wire itself isn't clamped, KiwiRoy advised fabricating a bracket made from coat hanger wire to hold everything in place. Works fine so far!
  4. Docc, you ended up on kiwi Roy's page. After reading the advice here and looking closer at the picture I couldn't add to my post. There we're burn marks around one of the solder joists. KiwiRoy points out that the green black wire is attached to one of the other wires. So tomorrow I'll try that and see what turns on. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
  5. Thanks Docc. That's exactly my problem. Thanks KiwiRoy.
  6. There should be a picture to go with that. Anyway, got the back section off the ignition switch and found a green / black wire loose & the indicators not working. Problem is there's no evidence of where it attached. No previous solder marks. And there are 6 places it could have been. Anyone have previous experience of this wiring?
  7. Eventually getting back to my turn signals. Got them to work by wiggling some of the wires behind the headlight. Traced this down further to the wires running to/ from the keyed ignition.
  8. Beautiful! How did it turn out ?

    Designing Custom Intakes

Looks great! What design program are you using? I design rooms with Autocad mechanical and would like to get into 3d programs. So just asking!
  10. The speedo cost around $210. I'm still interested in keeping the bike with it's original equipment. But that may change as the years roll on & the parts drop off! I'm enjoying the story as you re-build this bike. What's it look like now?
  11. Check out http://www.wildguzzi.com/forum/ and this guy is a V11 owner and lives around Indianapolis Chuck in Indiana
  12. Thanks all. Ordered a replacement from Harpers today; couldn't find anything with the right plugs or the right shape to go back in. On the 2004 the units under the seat on the RHS but you have to take the seat cowling off to get to it. It has a clip on the back that holds onto a rubber mount.
  13. This afternoon I ordered a replacement ITI speedo for my 2004 V11 Naked, from Curtis Harper, who assured me that the newer replacement gauges 'aren't being returned as often as the old replacement gauges!' Having seen you photo I'm second guessing myself now. How much did you have to pay for those very sharp looking gauges?
  14. Out for a spring ride on Sunday. When I started out all was working well but after a bit my turn signal lights got slower and then seemed to stop completely. However back at home after moving the turn lever the dash light comes on after about 20 seconds then hangs there without blinking. Should I start looking in the LH handlebar controls, or is it a defective part somewhere else? Thanks
  15. Just heard from Mr Roper. The cost is $250 Australian, delivered. Works out to be $225 US
  16. Are the Veglia clocks interchangable?
  17. Well my ITI odometer stopped working. I managed to get the unit apart without destroying anything and the gear that runs off the speedo cable is worn away. I talked to Palo Alto Speedo who tell me this is usually where the problem is. I read the threads of those who have replaced the unit several times, and those who want to replace the clocks altogether. Has anyone found a source for the part or tried having a part machined? Thanks
  18. Has Moto Guzzi added ABS to any of their models? Does anyone have experience or know of any aftermarket kits that can be added to the V11 brakes?
  19. I had to have my red 2004 V11 out of the garage for a week and under a tarp. Thinking I didn't want the wind to move the tarp and abrade the shiny paint, I put fresh 'out of the box' painters plastic over the bike first, to act as a slip cover. When I uncovered the bike, the thin plastic had stuck to the tank leaving what looked like a crinkled condensation pattern on the surface. I cleaned the tank off with soap and water then used a 'cleaning wax'. No luck. Next step was 6 applications of a polishing compound which removed the condensation pattern. However, after a couple of weeks the marks came back. Polished it out again but after a good blast this w/e, the blemishes are back again. Talked to a body shop who said, because when I polish there's no pigment on the cloth, I'm still working in, or on, the clear coat. That I have to sand down to the color coat to remove whatever the condensation pattern is, and then clear coat again. So my question is; 'What product was sprayed as a clear coat on the 2004 V11's ?' Or another way to ask;'What can be sprayed as a clear coat that isn't going to react with whats currently on the tank ?' Thanks for your help.
  20. Saw this ad on my local craigslist http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/3883753682.html Rosso Mandello. 8800miles.
  21. What's the opinions about using synthetic oils?
  22. Talking to Curtis Harper @ Harpers Moto Guzzi today, he said he had the Scura fairing which is the Ballabio fairing just in need of paint.
  23. V11boy, I'm looking to add a fairing to my 2004 V11 Sport Naked; so why are you going the other way? I hadn't realised until today that there was a difference between how the Ballabio and the Scura fairing mount.
