I wonder if the stock LeMans fairing support can somehow be wrangled into working with this fairing. The part number is 01578660…
-
and now I want one...

This looks crazy sexy. I wish you godspeed, and please do post your progress.

And boy is your engine clean! I have some cooked in oil and deep grime, still haven't worked it out.
-
Thanks Docc, this is very helpful, I wasn't picturing it. How easy is it to operate it solo? LOVE the disco inferno bike lift, party at your garage!

ANSWERED I give up, where are the fork mod threads?

I put a gsxr front end on mine, aside from designing and having machined my own top triple clamp it was relatively painless I highly recommend doing it. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17975&hl=%2Bfront+%2Bend+%2Bswap -
I put some 6mm nutserts into the swing arm about 1.5-2 inches forward of the axle, and mounted standard spools. I can use any standard paddock stand, provided it is wide enough. Pit Bull and Moto D both make wide stands, the vast majority of the cheapo chinese ones on ebay are too narrow. I am very curious about the official Guzzi stand... Where exactly does it lift from?

here are my dyno results: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8556&p=200008 I did not do a stock run, before making all my changes, which also included the GPR 2-1 exhaust and ceramic wheel bearings, so it's hard to make a before/after comparison. Overall I estimate at least +3 HP (my bike wasn't in a great state of tune when I bought it from the PO) and a significant amount of shed weight. Hard to say if the intake or the exhaust are more responsible, probably both as well as the skill of the tuners at Markbilt Racing.
-
If you want a set, send me a PM, I can explain the set up. I did also have the bike tuned on a dyno after installing.

I designed and 3D printed my own intakes, which are designed to work with huge K&N pods. Works great, no complaints.

In the next day or two I will have time to play, will download the .bin file from my ECU, and will post it to the Fileshare. As far as I know it has never been modified by myself or the previous owners...
-
Zooter - short answer, no.
-
Thanks Gelos! No reason why not, the file sizes are tiny.
-
hey Meinolf, all of those .bin files that were in that dropbox are no longer available, as that dropbox folder no longer exists (404 error when I click on that link). Do you know if it was re-posted somewhere? I am learning how to use the Tunerpro software, would like to practice on some .bin files **before** I actually connect to my bike for real... I you, or anyone else, can point me to a .bin file for a stock 2001 V11 Sport Naked with no lambda sensor, that would be really awesome. Thank you!

Mike Rich recommends Maxima oil, fwiw. I know a lot of people here are looking for cheap solutions, but he was quite emphatic about the importance of using a high quality oil that can handle the high heat and oil starvation to the heads, even under optimal running conditions, that occurs with this engine. He did say that Amsoil is pretty decent.

Thank you Ernst! Regarding the coils, I am not planning on increasing the CR anywhere near as high as 11. The pistons I will install raise the CR to 10.25:1. In your opinion, would the Breva coils be ok? Looking at the photo that spark looks very juicy... EDIT: straight from Mike Rich himself, the Breva/Griso coils are the way to go. Also says to switch to non projected spark plugs, with a a heat rating of 8 instead of the stock 6. So, this means the primary plug should be BR8ES, secondary plug CR8HES, or BR8EIX and CR8HIX for the fancy iridium ones

wow nice spark! I will upload pictures of the head shortly. motoguzznix - the .bin file you sent me won't load in Tunerpro, I got an error message that said "Failed to load"... Could you re-send me the file, and maybe make a ZIP file first before sending it? Sometimes .bin files get corrupted when sent as attachments. Thank you!

motoguzznix - the Silent Hektik coils sounding more like the way to go, they supposedly produce a 120mj spark, the MagMar coils are quite a bit lower (don't have the exact number but I was told it was around 55 mj.) Should I consider the dyna coils, or is 3 ohms resistance too much? gelos - I will take some detailed pictures for you. The secondary spark plug hole goes through the oil input. The new oil input is moved over to the side.

Well, the fine folks at TLM were of assistance. They said the coils from the Breva/Griso 1100 would work. Those are 1.5 ohm, so that leads me to believe that the SH coils would work too. Onward!

Scored some dual plugged heads from Germany I have the correct ignition map thanks to motoguzznix, now I am trying to figure out which coils to use. The aftermarket coils I'm looking at are higher resistance than the stock MagMar BAE850AK coils we have stock, which are spec'ed at .5 - .6 ohm primary, 6 - 8 kohm secondary. Most of the Dyna coils for example are 3ohm primary. Silent-Hektik dual spark coils are 1.7 ohm. Is there any reason not use these coils with higher resistance? I put some dyna coils on my honda cb350 and it runs like a bat out of hell. It doesnt have a complicated and expensive ECU though, on the V11 I wouldn't want to fry any sensitive electronics... Any thoughts? Thanks!
